One good thing about this Westpac Credit card is they have a digital mastercard available (I think its same card number but the CVV is dynamic aka keeps changing every 24 hours). This is similar to One time disposable cards but not exactly same, since card CVV detail stays active for 24r hours.

Now Includes COVID Cover too

              • @jefft1: I don't have the card so no use trying forgot password, as it needs card number.
It's just weird that they don't give me customer ID but still said I can get digital version straight away

                • @RTY: the actual card number is actually same number as your digital card number, Only the CVV is different in your digital mastercard rest is same details as your physical card.

and dont forget you can actually add your digital card straight away to google/apple pay etc.

You can contact their Customer service to find out your Customer ID, its usually all numbers.

You normally should get your Customer ID after your account has been opened in a SMS

                • +1

@RTY: Honestly, they are a bit of a mess. Seems like their staff is lost too. When I was approved of the card, I was sent an SMS too saying I could use the digital one. I tried adding it and it didn't work. Called Westpac and lady was frustrated at me saying that they don't know why they kept sending customers SMS about this and they they should stop. She said it won't be able to activate to protect application fraud. Then later on I found out that the card number is the same for digital..lol..and managed to get it activated

                  • +1

@jefft1: Super late to your comment but this was similar to my experience but mine was worse.

WARNING to others - be careful about activating your digital card.

I tried activating the digital card on the day the CC was approved. It seemed to have activated but was immediately blocked as I couldn't make a transaction. I called up and they said head into the branch and do an ID check. I head into the branch and the branch says wait until the physical card arrives and then come back. I wait for a week and a bit but haven't received the card so I call support and they said because the card was blocked, it was never sent out. So I head back into the branch and tell them to do an ID check which they have to call their fraud team. Finally, it worked out and now I am going to wait an extra week for the physical card to arrive before I start using it. I'm not taking any chances on the digital card in the meantime.

What a pain. I definitely agree with that Westpac staff who said they should stop sending out those SMS about the digital card.

  • Got my 110K points the following business day after meeting $3K minimum spend criteria. Haven’t received an email to notify me (yet - assuming they send it).

    Already redeemed points, happy days.

    • Wow that's really quick! I've spent 3k about a month ago and nothing. All eligible purchase as I've done online shopping, purchase tickets..etc

      • Yup mine was given within 2-3 days of meeting spend requirement, then 2 days after that to redeem. Its actually been quickest redemption of CC points in my experience

        • Did you have to notify them? Or do anything? Or was it just automatically added?

          • @jefft1: Everything was automatic, Didn't have to do anything, no contacting CS or anything. Points automatically added, (saw it on app)

    • What did you redeem it on if you don't mind me asking. I was going to see what is the best value redemption.

      • +1

Annual card fee redemption is great if you don't want any gift cards.

        • Tried checking out with 2x $250 & 2x $25, but got error, 'The highlighted item or items exceed the maximum redemption limit.'
Which annual card fee redemptions did u opt for? & did u redeem via mobile app or desktop? Not sure if that makes a difference..

          • @plal: I just did 3x$250 card fee rebate on Tuesday and it all come through yesterday.

I did do it on desktop but doubt it is an issue since the mobile app redirects you to a browser anyway but ymmv. Maybe it is detecting you are redeeming multiple types of annual rebate in one go?

          • @plal: I had same issue just then … How did people get around the "one annual fee redemption per card per year"?
Edit: I just added 1x of each rebate value to maximise my points and that worked

            • @tobi3421: Whats the total in rebate u got?

              • +1

@plal: $725 for 145k points. I got 140k points from the Altitude rewards black card.

  • Recently claimed points as annual fee rebate.
Points deducted from the rewards site immediately, a couple of business days later its aligned with point reduction in westpac account, but annual fee rebate $ still not applied.
Anyone done it and know the rough time delay? Hoping they hit before my current monthly bill is due :/

    • You should get the rebate within 0-2 business day of Westpac removing points FROM THE WESTPAC APP (Westpac app may show different available points compared to their rewards portal).

      • thanks
fingers crossed for end of week then

        • +1

Still no sign of credit $
Going to have to pay the cc bill and then use it up next month when they show up :/
(Or worse, contact Westpac and query why multiple annual fee rebates haven't been applied)

          • @SBOB: Have you received your credit? I redeemed on 24/09 and still nothing

            • @tobi3421: Nup, still no rewards credit $ :/
Had to pay cc bill today.

Have you contacted them at all to enquire?

              • +1

@SBOB: Not yet, the confirmation email did say 10 business days but I expected it to be a lot faster

                • +2

                  @tobi3421: finally showed up
full 10 business days wait :)

                  • +1

@SBOB: Same, showed up in my account today!

  • Have met the spend criteria weeks ago, yet no sign of the bonus points. Anyone facing this?

    • +1

      Same deal

      • Same here. Still waiting. I heard some people mention eligible purchase but how do we know exactly if we have meet the criteria T_T

        • +1

You can tell eligible purchases by looking at points earned to date.
I believe you should have 3000 reward points earned to have hit $3k in eligible purchases

  • rule of thumb, any purchase that accrues points counts towards spending requirements?

  • Does anyone know if I choose to redeem my points for an annual fee rebate and then close my account, will they just send the amount to another bank account? I've met the minimum spend weeks ago and still waiting for the bonus points. I have paid my statement already and don't wanna use the card anymore.

    • I am unsure what would happen in that case, But if you don't close the account, the rebate actually goes back to the CC account. (It didn't take long for me to get rebate, so better wait for a couple days or weeks).
And since its actually meant to be a annual fee rebate, I highly doubt that Westpac will actually allow you to take that money in some other way.

  • For those who are still waiting for their bonus points, you can ring them at 1300 851 599 to update it. The lady that I spoke to said that she will fast track my bonus points and it be credited to me in 3-5 business days.

    • Thanks for this mate! Just called and they managed to do it too. They picked up the call quite quick as well. They said she'll send this over to their resolution team and they'll get back to me around 3 business days.

      • I just called up the Altitudes Platinum number and the agent that I spoke to said I had to wait for the entire 90 days to pass before receiving the points. Should I just try again and call another time? I'd like to get my points fast tracked as well if you guys were able to

        • +1

You should. I just got an email saying that the points will be added to my account within 24 hours.

          • @jefft1: Just called them today and the agent said that they weren't able to manually fast track the points and I had to wait for it to arrive by itself. Not sure if I've been really unlucky with the agents or if they've changed it.

What did you specifically ask for when you called them up? I think I may just end up waiting the points out since I've called twice already

            • @AV1: Oh man! Bad luck. I just tell them that I've been waiting 2 months for the points to hit but no luck. I then went into branch which suggested me to call this number and that I could perhaps file for a missing points claim. And the lady just asked a few questions in regards to if I've hit the requirements. That's it .

              • @jefft1: I've only applied for the card in mid October, so I reckon I'll just wait for the points to come through. Appreciate your help!

        • Definitely ring them again! I just got my points upon checking this morning.

    • Thanks for this! Have something big to purchase but the bloody points are taking ages!

    • Thanks again mate for this number. Raised the complaint on Wednesday, received the points today!

  • Got the card mid Oct
Hit the spend before the end of Oct
Bonus points hit my account yesterday

  • how is everyone redeeming the rebates? i have 200k points but it wont allow me to redeem 4x $250 cards. i can only seem to add 1x of each rebate card which comes to $725 bucks

    • +3

I spoke with Westpac. They have closed the rebate "loophole". You can no longer add multiple rebate cards of the same value. FYI - the operator stated "you are only allowed to claim a single rebate per year". So its sounds to me like the rebate stack option may also be a loophole atm.

So for example, i was unable to add 4x $250.

To get around it, i added a single (QTY 1) of each rebate value. This got me $725 for 145k points. Then i got $220 of wish vouchers with the remaining points.

Shame really, because the multiple rebate option was a v good hack.

      • It is still possible to redeem exactly 115000 points with a quantity of 1 x $100, 1 x $125, 1x $250, 1 x $75 and 1 x $25 giving $575 rebate.

  • For those who are still waiting for their bonus points, have paid their balance, and not using the card anymore, you can use the points to redeem the rebate and then have the credit transfer to your choice account. I just got off the chat support and they have confirm that this will be treated as a cash advance but no fee will be charged as long as the amount is exactly the credit balance and you don't go over it.
