I've been looking for options for better power monitoring for my home, since all I have now from my inverter is data on solar production - no usage or export.

Reviews of this Powersensor monitor are pretty good, with an unofficial integration with home assistant and pretty simply to install, but they seem to sell almost exclusively through reduction revolution.

Only code I could find was 5% off orders over $500, but tried some older codes to bring the cost down a bit more, and it appears that TAKE5 still gave 5% off my order. Tried it on some cheap downlights and worked on that too, so seems no minimum spend.

Sharing in case it helps anyone else out.
Brings the usage monitor down to $189.05 and the Solar and usage monitor to $284.05) delivered.

Email I received after order also had FREE50 for free delivery for orders over $50. The coupons will not stack.

  • I’ve used these guys a couple of times and have to say I was very impressed with their customer service. They went above and beyond and their communication was fantastic. Highly recommend them!

  • this mob seems to be the best priced source for philips master mr16's.

it's what i suggest to my clients for those wanting to retrofit mr16 halogen setup but not wanting to change transformer (usually because a lot of the older installs are hardwired)

  • Reduction Revolution sounds like the name for a waxing/laser hair removal clinic

  • +1

Can confirm the codes do not stack - use whichever code gives you the bigger discount.

    • Thanks. So orders under $50 will be better off with TAKE5, orders $50-$150 would use FREE50, over $150 use TAKE5 again.
Looks like there's another code for 10% off orders over $1000 (10OFF), but not sure many will be spending that much, and it's shown when you go to your cart anyway…

  • Powersensor looks interesting, but the Home Assistant integration is pulling data from their cloud using an undocumented API and only has 4 stars, so it make me a bit apprehensive. Would jump on it if they had a local API.

    • Shelley em3 I think it is will do power monitoring and integrate beautifully with HA

      • Is this available in Australia? All I can see is EU pricing.

IoTaWatt seems like a good option for integration, but honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out what I needed to add onto the base unit…

    • Just an update in case you're interested. Got mine and set it up with the unofficial integration. Working wonderfully, and from my understanding is it is not actually pulling anything from the cloud per-se.
I'm no expert, but all it needs is access to the gateway through the local IP address and then it intercepts messages sent over the local network that the gateway uses to send to the cloud.

There's also another integration being worked on that can be installed through HACS (but it still has some improvements). But active development is good.
Powersensor have also contacted me to have a 15 minute chat about the experience so far and feedback for future development, so that's also positive.

      • Nice, thanks for update! You should ask them to release a local API and implement an official Home Assistant integration in your feedback.

  • Consider also Emporia Energy Gen 2 Vue on Amazon, though wait for a better price.
