365-Day Super Pack: Unlimited Standard Calls, SMS & MMS, 132GB - $159.00 Delivered @ ALDImobile

360

Not sure how this deal slipped under the radar when it began last week.

A great value 365 day plan that you can renew for the same price on the ALDImobile app. Also includes unlimited data rollover. Critical information summary

Not too dissimilar to the old $150 80GB Boost plan we loved, but with a lot more data and less coverage from the Telstra wholesale 4G network.

Since last year (I think) you can order these new special buys online - see the link.

See here for (not great value) $499 super pack.

  • from the Telstra wholesale 4G network.

better coverage with Boost, and now includes 5G.

    • Yep, for $200 if you don't want to faff about with new SIMs or chasing them up for a discount + bonus data promos.

I had Aldi before I switched to Boost on recommendation from this community three years ago (still am); it was fine and will be for most people. I was on 15GB a year lol so it was a huge leap.

        Yep, for $180.

        Currently, its 140GB for $170

        $11 more but:

        more data
        more coverage
        faster speeds

        • Oh right, a sale. I changed it up to $200 as I didn't realise the price jumped that much after the removal of the $150 sweet spot.

With Aldi you have the security of plans not disappearing, and inclusions gradually increasing. Much easier for a lot of people to set and forget, and save a few bucks.

Then you miss out on better plans.

@jv: You have unlimited rollover on Aldi 🤷‍♂️

              • -2

@Techie4066: I'd rather the better coverage.

                • @jv: "New customers only" loopholes required. Annoying. To each their own.

Aldi coverage is about the same in cities.

I think I've been in the city twice since covid started.

and Boost has unlimited International call included to selected countries. For me that's a major plus for Boost.

          KOGAN offers $150 for 500Gb

speedtest.net has KOGAN faster than Telstra

          • @J-T:

speedtest.net has KOGAN faster than Telstra

Doesn't have as good coverage though. That's important to me.

          • @J-T: Kogan use Vodafone network so fine if live in decent coverage area.

    • Aldimobile has 5G now? Really?

    • better coverage with Boost, and now includes 5G.

      Not with a comparable plan

    • -1

ok then don't get this and pay more if you want those features, easy

  • Can I buy this to activate next year? is there expiry?

    • Not sure, I was wondering that as I'm switching away from Boost.

      • lol yeah my thinking too, but my plan doesn't expire till next year. They changed me over to the plan recently so can't do the $150/yr anymore at the next expiry

        • Aldi pretty much puts these on sale every six months like clockwork. Probs no issue waiting until December.

        • Yeah same. Hopefully bring out a cheaper year plan option

    • So this one I got in-store late 2019, and it says activate by 31st Dec 2019 (within the month). On more recent in-store deals from 2020 and 2021, some quick Google searching shows people report 6 months as the expiry. I'll see if I can contact Aldi to get a definitive answer.

    • +1

The expiry date is printed on the back of the box. So go into an Aldi store and as the staff there about this Super Pack. If the expiry date does not cover until your current plan expiry, then do not buy.

  • Wouldnt the Woolworths yearly sim for $140 be better value with the 10% discounts(10% off a weekly shop would pay for itself) sure it has less data being 100GB but has gifting and rolling over of data, boost is the best as it allows international calling(roaming at one point of time) and as mentioned 5G

    • +1

Suppose so if you don't need 32GB more data annually. An extra $19 is better value purely looking at the data allowance.
Aldi is a simple one-stop-shop solution, no discounts required when recharging. In fact, I don't think that $140 promo has been posted here?

      Edit: posted

  • does ALDI have wi-fi calling ability? I switched from Woolworths Mobile to Boost for this feature due to poor mobile reception at our new home.

    • +1

No, unfortunately. No eSIM or VoLTE either. Apparently WW is getting wifi calling soon, an employee last year said first half this year. Best stick with Boost for now, and get a discount if you can.

  • lol didn't know that this was a deal.

Signed up to Aldi yesterday (needed a work mobile number) and checked out the pricing. Looked pretty good.

    • +1

The super packs are only available every 6 months for new customers :)

  • I'm on aldi's $99 superpack plan with over 100 days remaining, is there any way to upgrade it to this one?

    • Yep, once it's expired choose the $159 recharge option on the ALDImobile app or website. Just make sure your auto-recharge is off so you're not locked into the same plan. Your leftover data will carry across if you recharge within 24 hours, so write down when it expires.

  • If you're happy with 4g try Felix, I hotspot Netflix constantly….

    • That's a few price tiers up

  • Aldi…..
    132gb divided by 12 months…. 11gb per month

    $159 divided by 12 months… $13.25 per month

  • Catch has $150 for 200gb [Optus], I have used it with no issues. Seems every one is suggesting Boost. Any negatives with Catch?

    • Bad coverage and CS.

Also maybe someone should post that deal.

  • Can you roam internationally with Aldi ?

    • Yep, not sure about pricing.

      • Wanna use just to receive SMS usually when overseas, and for friends to call
