More details:

Waterpik's Ultra water flosser is an easy and more effective way to floss! It features state of the art water flossing technology and provides the ultimate performance. It comes with six tips per unit, an advanced pressure control system with 10 pressure settings that range from 10 to 100 psi, and has a covered reservoir with a capacity of 90+ seconds. The contemporary design is smaller and quieter than previous models, it can be used with water or your favourite mouthwash, and it removes bacteria deep between teeth and below the gum line, where brushing and traditional flossing can't reach. It also massages and stimulates gums to improve circulation and keep your gums strong and healthy, making it great for people with implants, crowns, bridges, and veneers.

From what I have heard from dentists this might be an okay addition to your routine, but not a substitute for actual flossing.

I use it to blast my throat, gets all the tonsil stones out

    • +3

It makes a good substitute for not doing any flossing, however.

I was gonna say the same but thinking about it.. Flossing is much easier tbh. Just grab the floss and go at it. This splashes everywhere and have to do more work cleaning and rinsing the unit at the end.

It is infinitely more fun though, nice to shoot dirt off the sink/bath tub when you have spare water in the tank

I use this as I can't floss my very rear teeth. It is also fun see the chunks of food come flying out

        • +4

ehhh? I just hold my mouth over the sink and all the water goes straight in. Way easier than manual floss for me…

Lots of reasons people don't or can't floss.

This is much better than nothing

    $99 pickup at Costco

  • Does it have two units as shown in the photo?

    • +1

Not sure why Costco is showing two units, I believe it's only the one on the left in that photo.

      • +2

It is 2 units, I have this waterpik

        • +2

It is a standard one and a travelling one.

      • +1

Sorry it is 2 units as per D000FUS' comment!

Buyer beware: Had two of these, both shorted and stopped working despite being in two separate houses. The second was only 3 months old (warranty claim from the first).

Basically, the motors on these are not rated for Australian power supply.

I'm not alone: read the Amazon AU reviews:

I am using Panasonic Flosser for more than a year now; still works as new.

      • +2

Ok? I'm clearly talking about Waterpik here.

    • Thats a different model ultra professional. The one op posted is ultra plus and the nano. Look at the image carefully. I have the same model and not had a problem with the plus nor the nano that comes as a set.

      • +1

Yep, fair enough. But if the premium version suffers these failures, I wouldn't hold out hope for the lesser versions.

      • The one pictured in OP's post is not the Ultra Plus. The Ultra Plus has a different dial compared to the regular ultra waterpik.

    • Can confirm I am one of Amazon purchases with a shorted unit.

Amazon support was useless, however the official distributor in Australia (Church and Dwight Australia) were really helpful:
      churchdwight.com.au

They replaced my first unit, and when the second one broke within 6 months they replaced that too. 3rd Unit is going strong after 12 months now, but I think I'm on my own at this point.

      • Yes, the were easy to deal with, but forcing you to cut the power cord and just adding the devices to landfill after a couple months is why I didn't bother with the second warranty claim.

I'll never buy another waterpik product again.

    • I bought this Model from Costco and it stopped working after 12 months. Now I'm using the travel one. It's not as good but better than nothing. The last Waterpik I bought before this lasted about 5 years, different model though.

I've got one of the older models that has a wireless charging toothbrush. have had it for about 7-8 years and the flosser doesn't skip a beat. I put the water container in the dishwasher (without the rubber stopper) every 2 months and an occasional wipe down is all i do to clean it. I had to change the battery on the toothbrush part a few months ago through the help of YouTube that was pretty easy
