Not bad! Would be even better if it was 12gen CPU!

    • -6

      Or 83rd gen

    • Dumb thing to say. Of course it would be better

      • +1

Be even better if it had a flux capacitor built in😉

    • exciting about 12 th gen and windows 11 are e-cores ….not sure about mobile chip, but with desktop i5 no e-cores until 12600k …. so i wouldn’t get too excited or hang back waiting for mobile i5 12 th gen …..not sure if i7 12 th gen has e-cores but that would come with a price hike above $800 …..

      • +1

        what's an e-core?

  • I'm literally chatting to Lenovo about the one with higher specs. nice

  • is the code just for this specific one or all E15s?

  • bloody good deal the ThinkPad line up in this set are decent qulaity

    • +1

they are good build quality wise? ive always had a bit of doubt for lower end thinkpads after the lenovo takeover

      • +1

Purchased a E14 Gen4 recently and yeah it’s built pretty well. Next to no chassis flex. Not exactly lightweight but feels solid.

    • Good price, good build, low performance. Can't catch all 3.

  • +1

Tried the code on this item and others and it didnt work. Not sure how you got it so low

  • after 11 years my mbp2011 finally give in.
should i go for M1 air or this. decision decision……

    • +1

I'm no apple fan but the M1 Air is a very impressive piece of kit

      • Apple suck balls.

        • -1

You got no idea, apple phones for dogs. But there computers are top notch

    • They’re in a totally different price league so it’s hard to make a direct comparison. (MacBook air is nearly double the price), but a few things to consider:
      - the operating system; if you like macOS get the MacBook, if you use windows or Linux, get the Thinkpad. If you don’t mind either, also get the Thinkpad.
      - the Thinkpad has upgradable RAM and SSD, unlike the soldered components on the MacBook.
      - the MacBook has significantly better performance, screen, speakers, trackpad, and battery life.

if you have been using apple for 11 years i’d go with another mac …. i have windows laptop and desktop and a macbook air intel ….the macbook air with m2 due for sale in july will be a nice piece of kit and there seem to be some m1 deals about but i’d pay the extra for m2 and you will get many years of use.

a macbook air vs e15 big size difference, plastic vs aluminium and about $500 in price …. mbp even bigger price difference.

    • You can't replace upgrade anything on the new macs not Evan data recovery, apart from the screen for $1000 give or take. Up to you but this is my deal breaker

    250nits… rubbish…

It's embarrassing to admit I was once sceptical of how bad 250 nits could be… and then I bought one and yeah… it's bad.
You can modify your situation to make it work in many cases, but sometimes it's just terrible.

Wish 16GB would hurry up and become base line… by the time you allocate 1GB to GFX you go from 8 to 7.

Still great for the money, and of the ram is socketed as eluded to by SO-DIMM being in the deal description then upgrading could be cheap.
Would be great to hear if it had a second SO-DIMM slot to make that upgrade easy and give dual channel.

    • Agreed I have a 300 not HP probook g7 and its perfect apart from when I'm using it in brighter areas its hard to see I have to tilt the screen to make out stuff ( hard toove when I'm in school )

    • Which Thinkpad? Some have Varibright enabled out of the box which reduces luminance further. I personally find it fine once Varibright is disabled

    even my $350 x390 has 16gb…..
    brighter screen
    and lighter..

    HP 15.6-inch i5-1155G7/8GB/256GB SSD Laptop,
In Harvey this one 798 plus 100 voucher, any thought which is better

    • +3

      Don't support Gerry Harvey

  • Is this Lenovo laptop ram upgradable ,or it's soldered

    • I've got the amd Gen 3 version, on that one the first 8gb is soldered and there's one slot. Was an easy upgrade to 16gb.

Assume this one's probably the same. Check the manual.
