Sony A80J 55" Bravia XR OLED 4K Google TV 2021 $1995 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

300

Sony finally dropping price of A80J OLED TV to match the LG C1.

The 55inch is $1995/- at JBHiFi with free click and collect.

Same price at Sony online store with FREE delivery if you are prepared to wait a few weeks or local JBHiFi don't have stock.

I got this over the LG C1 because of better sound, better Upscaling and motion processing and Android/Google TV which we are used to.

We don't game so figured the Sony A80J was ahead where it mattered.

I bought one of these as a 'seconds' unit a while ago from Sony eBay store for $1800. Pretty sure it was brand new. Either way, very happy. Fantastic TV.

  • Is it better to ask good guys to price match than get further $80 off? Only if good guys will price match and you r willing to do click and collect.

      A90K oled range coming soon

  • Hmmm. This, LG C1 or the 65" Sony X90j? πŸ€”

    • This, but I guess it depends what you want it for.
Sony A80 has the best picture if you want to watch movies.
If you want to drop the quality but have an extra 10 inches is up to you.

      • Ended up splurging and grabbing the 65" LG C2 for $3480 - 3% JB gift card discounts. :)

  • This is so tempting. Im just worried about OLED aging still :(
LEDs/CCFL's get dimmer, but our Samsung is still going strong 15 years later.
I'm really concerned these will age 'unevenly', so you can't just bump the backlight option up a number every 2 years.

    • Got an LG C6 from years ago, never had any issues like what you mentioned. We only use the tv around 2-3 hours a day though, so if you're always leaving a show with a ticker reel like abc news 24 or using as a pc monitor I wouldn't risk it. Most of the issues have been demonstrably solved for reasonable use years ago

  • Both got the LG panels.
45" ers are nearly crashing thru the 1k barrier.
The death of LCD is near.

  • I got this tv during click frenzy on gifts vouchers 10% off and stacked with JBHI 10% off ending up with Sony 75” 80J for $1692 delivered. Amazing tv

    • Is that a typo? Couldn't be a 75" A80 for that price.

        Must have been the X80J?

  • Op, the good guys ebay have lowered the price to $1995 and following the steps below you can get it for $1795.25 which is even cheaper than the last Sony education deal $1799:

    1. use code FYXTRA to bring it down 10% to = $1895.25

    2. pay by Amex to get extra $100 off - 20% off up to $100 = $1795.25

    • Edit: FYXTRA is 5%

Note - Free delivery at Sony direct for purchases over $200 and price match facility. Also note Sony is far worse to deal with on returns than JB or GG
