Ferrex stuff uses LG cells, similar priced brands use generic cells that tend to fail long before I'd like.

  • I believe the title should say 2Ah? Also should put prices in title.

Could not ever buy Ozito branded stuff ever again after needing the stuff for more than casual use, the batteries died and so did the angle grinder, which was carefully used so not to overheat or overload it, so did the replacement, a Brushless ddrill was faulty in the 5 piece set from Ozito also, the brush holders melted on both angle grinders, was not aware of a brushless model … found out later there was, my Ferrex stuff lasted, sadly I did not have an angle grinder in Ferrex brand and had to run a generator and use 240v grinders, all of the Ozito batteries have been repacked using quality Samsung cells purchased on special through Amazon while on special ,have since got smart and switched to a pro brand! obtaining employment where I moved to helped and a BNPL purchase was helpful, if the Samsung cells or some other quality and affordable cells were not available, the Ozito stuff would be useless to me now!

I will add that I have a 12v Ozito multi tool purchased a long time ago, it still goes though the battery has died and is unavailable, wired it to work with a 12v battery, used till recently when I purchased an Makita skin.

    • I think many have been matched but aren't like for like
The 4Ah battery, grinder, impact wrench and chainsaw are available/matched. Ozito matched a drill driver but the Aldi one is a hammer drill.
Ozito don't seem to make brushless recip saw or multi tool so not sure there will be anything for those

Have a Ozito recip saw, no longer used since purchasing an older 18v Makita recip saw and circular saw rarely used $100 for both including a carry case off FB Marketplace, older guy bought them for his son who didn't want them, he was going on holidays and delivered them to me while passing through my town.

      • Can I ask where you're seeing the Impact Wrench matched?

The only one I see is the kit at $199

        • I saw it on Powerpass but couldn't find it on the Bunnings website. The I/N is there so you should be able to call your local store and see if they have it

  • missed bunnings chainsaw, maybe grab this,

The 4Ah battery is also available but due to stock limitations/delays may not be in all stores and not online

    • +2

Without the 4 Ah batteries these tools are less useful.
Still, you may already have some from the last deals.

Agreed, they will be pretty power hungry and will perform much better with a 4Ah than 2Ah

      • The 4Ah batteries sell quickly, I no longer live near an Aldi, Goolge maps shows closest route at 1066k's to 167 Gladstone Rd, Allenstown QLD 4700, Australia,

had a friend go buy a rotary impact Drill and 4Ah batteries, as many batteries to he could get for me up to 5, got the last Tool apparently and a 2Ah battery, of course it's hard to get a friend to have the same drive as I would to go stand in line waiting for the store to open … and I appreciated his effort, luckily I have 2 x 4Ah batteries but have since invested in Makita now I have a job and paid off debts.

    • Mate works at Aldi and assembled the special there were only 2 boxes roughly 40 batteries total for the sale.

    • There were 2x of the 4Ah batteries remaining at St Kilda Aldi as of last night. Just be aware that the new 21700 4Ah batteries are longer than the old 18650 4Ah batteries and so do not fit everything. For example they bottom out on my Aldi cordless vacuum cleaner before the retaining clip engages. It still powers up, its just not secure.

    • the charger support 2.0Ah, 4.0Ah and 8.0Ah Xfinity batteries. not sure if they have the 8.0ah for sale.

I personally i dont see how anyone would buy in to a cordless tool platform when the seller only makes the tools available once a year or whenever they feel like it.

What if you decide you need a cordless sander for a project on the weekend? What happens if one of the tools break? You may get a refund but not a replacement tool, then you are left buying in to another platform and having a mish mash of chargers and tool brands.

    • I only bought into it because the item I wanted was significantly cheaper than, and far superior to, the Ozito equivalent.

  • cells inside the 4ah/8ah batteries were samsung last time i looked

  • Aldi's grinder claims to be a full 10,000rpm unit, and comes with 5 cutting discs. The Ozito maxes out at 8,500rpm, and does not (according to their website). So it's not 'price matched', even if you can convince them to throw some discs when you point it out.

La Bunnoir are known for shorting their 'price matching', whether it be brushed instead of non-brushed tools, less capable drills, this time, with no 'accessories'.

Beware when buying, la Bunnoirs marketing team often misses things, or is just not engaged with their customers and products.

The big one is the Aldi drill being a hammer drill and Ozito not but it would take some arm twisting for me to buy Aldi tools as it can't be replaced easily if need be. The price matching is just a convenient sale really as I'm already well in to the Eco system but I also don't expect the world of Ozito tools. If I was getting a drill, impact, grinder etc that sees a lot of use, it'll be a trade quality tool

Does anyone know if the impact wrench is any decent?

I notice it doesn't say if the 350nm is for breakaway torque or for fastening…

    • This is ferrex PRO 350nm have to test out, and ya if overloaded, the difficult part is aldi warranty. If they have no parts and give you refund. Your job will be stopped.

    • I finally manage to get one, but i cannot get any charging pack.

the fastening has 3 speed, max is 350nm (all according to the manual)
the breakaway has 1 speed (speed cannot be changed), so max is 350nm

    • Last thing want to mention about the nm, not sure how do they count. boz the *Bpm and *Rpm, ozito looks like have a higher rpm, but Ozito is lower nm than Ferrex. (confusing)
