  • Is it locked to Vodafone? or can be used on any network? Does anyone know? Thanks

    • It is a prepaid, not outright phone. Should be locked to Vodafone. Not sure how much it costs to unlock these days.

    • Vodafone are confusing. Their big upsale was always that their prepaid phones were NOT locked; because market research showed most people shopping for them, used the SIM that came with it anyway; the (random numbers) 5% who don't use voda, is a fair loss, for the number of new plans.

They never explicitly advertised that was going away; but they never said otherwise either……

      • If you purchased your device outright to use with a prepaid service, there'll be a fee to unlock it from the Vodafone network.

If you’ve had your device for less than 6 months there’s a $50 unlocking fee.

If you’ve had your device for over 6 months there’s a $25 unlocking fee.

        • Ah neat.

Guess the days of unlocked prepaid are behind them.

          Thanks for the link.

          • @MasterScythe: When were the days of unlocked prepaids?

            • @Duff5000: At minimum up til 2010.

All the signs above their phones in DickSmith used to advertise no locks.

Then when I worked for Voda, and saw the sales vs contracts numbers; I saw it was a good business model after all; because the huge majority were using the sim, and it was a loved point of difference.

  • TCL make some good devices. My both my android Blackberrys (keyone and keytwo) are still going strong.

    Tempting as a 5G access point….

  • Dual sim?

    • Vodafone model is single SIM.

  • A good price on a 5G phone. It will be interesting to see if it is actually network locked

  • " striking power "

  • Here I was thinking they made T.V. sets

  • is this 5G phone atm the cheapest?

  • Will it work on Felix mobile since they use the Vodaphone network or require unlocking?

    • It should work.
