1080i? How's that Super High HD?
Maybe they call 1080p "Ludicous High" HD, so 1080i is just "Super High"… :)
It's still 1920x1080, and therefore full HD.
The i stands for interlaced, and the p for progressive.
Both CAN be classed as full HD if the resolutions are 1920x1080.. ie. the number of pixels is the same.
However, 1080i usually means a lower resolution… Not in this case.
For more information, read the discussion regarding the Hitachi P50X01 TV's.. They are 1080i, but full HD.
Also it's important to note that no commercial TV station broadcasts at 1920x1080p and probably won't do so for A LONG LONG time.
COTD have a good offer on recorders as well, worth a look. But this is a very good price indeed.
That is one fugly looking PVR … but good price :-)
