  • How many glasses of water do I need to drink to outpace a britta filter?

    • Well, 8 glasses a day is the norm — but if you still feel thirsty, give your body the extra hydration it wants :)

      • -1

        So….. You don't know?

  • And how much are the replacement filters

    • ~ $266 (incl GST) for 12 months

      There are 3 Filters:

      Polypropylene — Suggested usage life: 6 months or 3,000L = $39 (changed twice/year)

Activated Carbon — Suggested usage life: 12 months or 6,000L = $59 (annual change)

Biological — Suggested usage life: 12 months or 6,000L = $129 (annual change)

  • 3rd stage sounds like a gimmick. That normally means reverse osmosis.
What is "Biological Filter" (google says for fish tanks) or "EM-medium filter" ? Electro Magnetic? Snake oil?

    "nanoscale technology" - ooohhh!

Ignoring the junk-science, this is going to be extremely expensive in the long run, compared to a system that accepts standard-size cartridges.

    e.g. https://www.bunnings.com.au/stefani-twin-undersink-water-fil…

    • Given how the Australian market is getting flooded with badly built (read: Bunnings) & cheap imports (read: eBay) - I can understand your apprehension.

The 3rd stage Biological filter is actually what sets this one apart.

It offers high removal efficiency for bacteria, virus & microbial cyst (without all that wastage associated with Reverse Osmosis process)

The cost works out to < 6¢ per litre of drinking water

You can read more about the product here: https://www.ilanwater.com.au/products/ezek/ez-aqua-250b/

      • I see meaningless pseudo-technical babble. What is the 3rd stage really?

        • Taking away the jargon —-in a nutshell, the 3rd stage filter has very small pores so most bacteria and viruses can't fit through, & it also takes advantage of construction materials which make these critters stick to them so they get filtered out.

It's certified to have a BRE (bacterial removal efficiency) of 99.9999% — which is far far better than most available filters.

          Hope this helps :)

    • That Stefani system only has a PP & carbon filter (5-Micron) so it won’t be anywhere near as effective as this one (0.025 Micron)

Like comparing apples and oranges :)

  • its already 25% off on the website? whats the use of the code? this is definitely just advertising

    • The code is specifically for OzBargain community & can be used even after the "April Special" expires next week.
