QFF alternative offer for essentially the same card for those interested

  • Any idea what do these pts equivalent to in $$$???

With the 130K offer, I redeemed $650 "Annual fee rebate" which is basically cashback. So I imagine you can redeem a little less than that with this offer.

      • This is the way

        • I couldn't find this in the cashback section in Westpac's loyalty gateway - where could I find this rebate option?

          • @deadmarine: It's in the Financial section

            • @cook99: Legend - can redeem that to offset an annual fee less than that for the year yeah as a cashback I presume?

              • +1

@deadmarine: You can redeem multiple rebates that have no connection to the actual annual fee that you pay. I.e. I paid $49 annual fee. I claimed $99 + $149 + $249 annual fee rebates for example.

              • @deadmarine: You can also claim the same fee rebate multiple times. I think I did 2 x $250 + 1 x $150.

        • I redeemed 4 x $250 a few days ago on the black card (used the bonus 180K points plus an additional 20K points from spend). Bonus points took more than 12 weeks, and needed to be credited manually. Word of caution, if you buy too many gift cards on the digital card, and the account gets temporarily frozen, then the points may not automatically get applied when you meet the minimum spend.

          • @JohnSy: Good advice and good that you can get multiple of the same rebate, that 180k points turned out to be a ripper deal. Wife got loaded with David Jones gift cards and I took a few annual fee rebates, 2 happy peeps

      • Any idea if this card can be stacked with the 75k QFF deal? Was thinking they’re under different categories..

        • Offer not available if you’ve held an Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black card with Altitude Rewards, Qantas or Velocity in the last 12 months. T&Cs apply.

  • Oof bummer that altitude qantas holders are excluded

  • Anyone know if travel insurance can be activated by paying tickets using points (points+money)? It says that we need to pay the minimum of $500 (family member needs to pay $500 each too!) in order to activate the policy!

  • I have some leftover altitude points. only 500.. don't think I can do anything with it?

  • How long does it take for the bonus points to appear? I got the previous offer start of feb and met the minimum spend in first month but still no points.

    • up to X statements. I got mine fast last time but that was an anomaly compared to other times

    • it seems to be tracked seperately, not following the monthly statements.
As soon as you hit it the spend, you will get it on the day itself. at least that's what i can see.

      • Hmm weird, been about a month and a half since I hit the spend and nothing. Might need to follow up with Westpac, although they do say it could take up to 12 weeks

        • Did you get the bonus points issued eventually? Same here, hit the $3k spend about a month ago but still nothing.

          • +1

@Craze: I actually called them recently, they said I should expect them “2 statements after the bonus period” ie 3 months + 2 months. Somewhat annoying but oh well

  • My card got approved for $4,700.
Think I’ll still qualify for the bonus points if I hit the minimum spend?

    • ??? What you mean ?? minimum Credit Limit is $6000 if i am not wrong

      • Correct, But somehow i got approved at a lower limit for this same card.

        • +1

Guess they really want you to be their customer haha

    • +1

I also got approved for $5,600 credit limit in the previous deal for 130k bonus points. Spent the $3k but yet to receive bonus points, will wait for one more cycle before querying it.

  • For the annual fee rebate, does this apply to your balance directly? ie if my current statement has $300 I need to pay, but the annual fee rebate is $250, does that mean I only need to pay $50, or I need to wait for it to apply at the next statement?

    • +1

It gets applied to the balance directly, and it takes a day or 2 to appear in your account once you redeem the rebate through rewards.

  • Hey does anyone know if westpac automatically denies application of those people who had an enquiry in past 6 months?
Someone over phone told me, they look mostly at credit score, not much at other factors in approving application, This is very different to my experience with other lenders like ANZ, or Coles, or Combank.

Been denied couple times recently, have absolutely hated rejections. Not really willing to wait 6 months dude for this card.

  • hi guys, just wondering, do you guys know how long it takes westpac to credit the bonus points? cheers!

    • +1

For me it was within a day or two

  • Have anyone tried to redeem multiple fee rebates recently? I tried to redeem $250X3 last Wednesday, received an order confirmation but it got cancelled on Friday. I didn’t receive an email for just noticed rewards points were credited back to my account. Has anyone got the same issue? Thanks!
