[Android, iOS] Free Google VPN for Google One Subscribers with 2TB or Higher Plans @ Google One

90

This is bit of a controversial/ironical/tricky one as many people use VPN to avoid Google, but here it is anyway!

For subscribers of Google One subscribers of 2TB plan and over (prices from $12.49/month), Google Play and iOS apps would allow usage of "Google grade" VPN included in the plan.

The VPN is available through the Google One app for Android and iOS.

Existing Google One members on a 2 TB or higher plan in select countries get access to the VPN at no additional cost. Just turn on the VPN with one tap from the Google One app on Android or iOS.

Something to note:
1. Some minimum logging is performed to ensure quality of service, but your network traffic is never logged and your IP is not associated to your activity.
2. You won't be able to change your IP location to view content that is not available in your region.

2TB plan costs $12.49/month, should probably put the price of the plan in the title.

Sorta like the RSPCA throwing BBQs for animal protection.

      Lol!!

Sorta like the RSPCA throwing BBQs for animal protection.

Your analogy isn't correct. RSPCA aren't a vegetarian organisation. They don't campaign against eating meat. They just want it done humanely.

You should of said PETA instead of RSCPA.

      • Except PeTA (for all their other potential faults) don't do BBQs with animal products. And there is no such thing as humane killing if the victim doesn't want to be killed. And it's "have," not "of."

          Whoosh!!!

That's literal my point. Your first comment made no sense. Now you're trying to lecture me about the very thing I'm correcting you on?

          • @PainToad: Sorry mate, don't understand. Feel free to enlighten me.

talk about serving up all your data on a silver platter to google …

You won't be able to change your IP location to view content that is not available in your region.

    So what's the point?

    • +1

Improved security of your internet connection as it's encrypted. One possible use-case is not wanting your phone network to see what sites you're visiting you dirty dawg.

  • why do ppl avoid google?

    • +4

They don't. But saying you do makes you feel better than everyone else.

    • +6

They literally took "Don't be evil" out of their code of conduct because they full on committed to a business model of stealing every ounce of your data in the name of free services

    • +2

One reason is that as soon as you become reliant or "all in" on one of their services they close it down.

  • +1

    Yeah, Nah
    So no to data raping

  • Are there any hacks to get the google one subscription cost down?

I bet T&C are hundreds of pages long and involves selling your soul & firstborn. Anyone thinking Groogle is a search engine not a surveillance/ad company is serously mistaken :-)
