      Probably because it limits how many can be used on online checkout to $500 or $1000 etc rather than $5000.. spread the promotion funding around rather than to just whales

      It is the best at the moment in terms of an upfront discount for gift cards usable at JB Hi-Fi (assuming you are sticking to buying gift cards directly from stores and not privately). However, keep in mind the TCN Party gift card is only available in $25 and $40 denominations through this deal, so you will need at least 30 gift cards…

      Keep in mind the gift card deal at Woolworths next week is 20x points on TCN Gift and Party gift cards (and a few others not relevant to this conversation). TCN GIFT gift cards are currently sold in $30, $50 and $100 denominations at Woolworths, so if you have a Woolworths (or a few) near you and you are content with bonus Everyday Rewards points, that may make your situation a little easier.

    Any limits per purchase? Also I see lots of crazy people line up before Coles shop open everytime this happens. 10% is crap though need 15%

      Coles’ checkouts will limit you to a maximum of five gift cards per transaction.

      Considering there should be a sign at the gift card display saying the limit is five gift cards per customer, there is a very good chance that staff will refuse to sell you more gift cards in separate transactions on the same day.

      You may even have a staff member enforce a lower limit for a random reason; for example, when Celebration gift cards were 10% off last Black Friday, I wanted to buy 3x $200 gift cards, but the checkout person said I was only allowed to buy $500 due to fraud concerns.

    Does anyone know if TK Maxx will let you return something and rebuy it with the gift card? I have to go to return something tomorrow anyway and I am thinking about trying to return these pair of shorts and rebuying it with the discounted gift card, it's barely a saving but if I'm already going, just thought I'd ask if anyone knows.

      You will probably only get a better discount if you wait until Black Friday for a potential 15% discount on selected TCN gift cards at Coles, because one of those gift cards usually covers Baby Bunting.

    Can I buy JBHIFI Gift cards in store with these? ie turn 5x $50 TCN Gift Cards in 1 x $250 jb hifi gift card?
    Or does JB HIFI have a limit as to how many gift cards you can use?
    I'm hoping to buy a MacBook Pro ($3000) and wouldn't want to make one people put through 60 different gifts cards, id prefer to split it all up if possible

      It is against both the JB Hi-Fi gift card policy and TCN gift card terms and conditions to use TCN gift cards to purchase any gift cards (including JB Hi-Fi gift cards) at JB Hi-Fi.

      However, it is up to the staff member at the checkout to enforce these rules. Asking to purchase a $250 JB Hi-Fi gift card split across five payments is a very strong indication you are trying to do this, plus there is really no subtle way to swipe a card on an EFTPOS terminal… Also, you would need to visit a JB Hi-Fi store at least 12 times to convert 5x $50 TCN Kids gift cards into 1x $250 JB Hi-Fi gift card, and that to me sounds like too much effort for what you are trying to achieve (especially since you may have a staff member refuse split payments, necessitating additional visits).

      There is no known limit for the number of TCN gift cards you can redeem in one in-store transaction. The OzBargain record is 99.

      There is also no known limit for the number of JB Hi-Fi gift cards you can redeem in one transaction. The OzBargain record for online transactions is 51, plus you can go to the TCN website and exchange one TCN Kids gift card for one digital JB Hi-Fi gift card, so I think you would be fine redeeming 60 JB Hi-Fi gift cards in one online transaction to pay for the MacBook Pro. If you want to go to in-store instead, I am not sure whether there is a redemption limit for JB Hi-Fi gift cards, but you may have a staff member ask you to provide ID before you can redeem $3000 worth of JB Hi-Fi gift cards in one transaction.
