Usable on a mac air then at Office works?

    No restrictions anyone know of?

    • +17

These are gift cards which should and will work on any products sold by Officeworks

      • Thanks

      • +10

        … except gift cards.

        • +2

Not no more. I wonder why 😂

          • +2

@shane23: Don't even bother pulling that stunt using your digital wallet. ;)
The checkout assistant can see if you are trying to purchase a GC using a GC.

            • @DoctorCalculon: Couldn't you set it as the default card for contactless, which negates the need to open Google Wallet which shows the picture of the card (no experience with iOS)?

              • +3

@aaron3: Yes, but then problem is that if the Officeworks checkout has been patched and classifies the card being presented as a “gift card”:

                • The Invalid Product Mix error will flash up on the EFTPOS terminal.

                • The staff member will have a message pop up on their screen saying that customers cannot use a “gift card type” payment method for the transaction you are trying to do.

It is dead simple for Officeworks to figure out whether a card you are trying to use is an Ultimate gift card or Celebration gift card.

              • @aaron3:

                The checkout assistant can see

I should have clarified that they can see on their terminal screen exactly what is going on when a transaction is declined due to a business rule violation (e.g. paying for a GC using a GC).

            • @DoctorCalculon: It doesn’t matter what she can or can’t see what matters is the system no longer allows the purchase using these cards or any of ultimate cards to buy what’s most important

              • +1

@shane23: Dude, no one is disputing that fact.

Some people still think they can trick the system by using a digital wallet.

        • damn there goes hoarding apple gc again haha

  • +1

Looks like comes in denomination of either $100 or $200.

  • Oh man, I'm hoping for some ultimate gift cards. These are quite limited in what you can use them for.

  • +1

does office works allow split payment? e.g 200$ x5

    • Are you planning on buying a laptop from there?

    • Yes recently purchased with 5 or more cards with residual balance.

    • +15

Instore: yes, as long as the staff member lets you do that and knows how to do that. To help prevent any potential confusion, make sure to tell the staff member you would like to redeem multiple cards (or Visa cards) and tell them the available balance on each card.

Online: no. Split payments between multiple Visa cards is impossible on the Officeworks website.

Over the phone at 1300 OFFICE: no idea.

    • Yes definitely.
I just purchased $1000 activ prepaid gift card split payment $200x5

      • with Officework staffs they are friendly.
my local Coles staffs are horrendous they always be rude to customer fr.

        • Report it to their complaint department

      • how were you able to do this ?
as per above everyone is saying that its been patched

  • +5

I thought usually the 3rd week of Oct is usually 10% off Coles MCGC basing on the last 2 years. Thought it was happening this week 😂

    • Lol… I've been dumbfounded as such. That promotion occurred earlier this year in rather quick frequency

    • +1

Hoping another one comes so I can pay off this Optus bill for the Pixel 8 Pro deal last week :)

      • Fingers crossed it’s next week.

        • +1

Unfortunately, it won't be next week either.

    • I was waiting for it too.

      • me too

  • Ah man , I just brought a k400 keyboard today from officework. If only I knew.

    • +13

Buy another one using the gift cards, then return it using the invoice from today.

      • pretty sure they all have different serial numbers?

        • +3

Serial number won't be on the receipt.

          • +2

@CVonC: Actually sometimes serial numbers are on the receipt.

I got a Kindle from Officeworks and the serial was definitely printed on the receipt. It went on sale at Amazon + some bonus cashback a few days later. I'd already opened it.

Returned the new one from Amazon without anyone batting an eye but obviously YMMV.

            • @cooni: Yeah devices like phones and stuff will have SNs on the receipt.

              • +2

@CVonC: The POS will prompt staff to add the S/N for about every Apple device, most android phones and laptops. Devices like Kindles and cheap tablets etc. won't force the staff member to add the serial but there is still an option for them to, which most staff don't bother with but some like myself add for reasons

      • price match somewhere else online to get an extra 5% off
  • Is that five per day or five over the offer period? If it is per day you could buy an iphone at 15% off plus any price match you can find which adds another 5%? I found that sometimes JB is cheaper by $1 and they then give you the 5% off. This could mean about 20% off an iphone if I am thinking correctly? Or maybe even an apple watch?

    • +1

Five per person per transaction. So you could either go at it at multiple stores on the same day (can even do it at the same store if you bold enough), or go with a few people so everyone gets 5 at the same time but pay separately, or go over a few days and get 5 every time.

    • Just checked and iPhone pro 128gb is currently $2 cheaper at office works. I'm assuming that's precisely so they don't need to price beat it.

      • +1

Lmao they do that for every product, everything is $98 or $97 to beat $99 prices at competitors

  • its per visit, you could go back after and go to another checkout

  • Anyone know how many of these you can use at Officeworks?

    • +4

The FAQ linked at the bottom of the deal description has the answer.

  • +1

Any problems using multiple Ultimate GC’s at Luxury Escapes?

    • You should be able to exchange a Celebration gift card for a Luxury Escapes gift card through Blackhawk Network’s website, which would mean this conversation becomes relevant.

      • +1

Thank you for this information. Much appreciated.

      • So they won't work directly when booking through luxury escapes? How do you exchange via Blackhawk?

        • +2

So they won't work directly when booking through luxury escapes?

          That is my understanding.

Celebration gift cards are really just a special type of Ultimate gift card exclusively sold at Coles. If you look at how Luxury Escapes accepts Ultimate Everyone gift cards (as an example), the website only lists Luxury Escapes under the Exchange for eGift redemption option.

Additionally, when I had a look at the exchange portal at the end of last year, I saw Luxury Escapes on there.

How do you exchange via Blackhawk?

Go to https://exchangecelebration.com.au/ 1 You will need to enter your Celebration gift card details to enter the portal, then you can choose to exchange part or the full balance of your Celebration gift card for a Luxury Escapes gift card that is emailed to you.

          1. You can find the link to this exchange portal by going to the link in the table in the deal description, then looking at dot point 4 under How To Use My Card

          • +2

@WookieMonster: Ive used these gift cards at LE before. You can treat it as a credit card pretty much, and put in the card number, expiry date etc in the credit card payment field. If your booking is > $250, you can buy multiple $250 luxury escapes gift cards online, then load them to your account, or call LE to purchase and directly link them to your account (that's what I did).

You can otherwise use the exchangecelebration.com.au link provided above to convert. Either way is fine!

          • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks heaps for this information

        • +2

          Thanks for the advice here.
          Yesterday I bought 7 Celebration.
I exchanged them for LE eGift cards. Note that this is a bit laborious as I found that I had to convert each one separately.
You must enter the 16 digit card number and pin and an expiry date of 12/29.
I could not find a way to add more than one into the basket at the Exchange check out.

I then received confirmation emails within a minute. You receive a voucher number and an alphanumeric pin that are then used on the LE site.
You can enter multiple gift cards, as mentioned above.
Importantly, I was able to combine this with promo code CITI10 for 10% off.
I used a Citibank card and don't know if it would have worked with another card.

          • @gizzard: Do you mean after applying the gift cards there was still an outstanding component which you then paid for using a Citibank card? Did the CITI10 only reduce the outstanding component by 10% or the whole transaction amount incl the component covered by gift cards? TIA!

  • Any one able to confirm if able to use these gift cards to buy other gift cards sold @ officeworks?

    • +1

No you will get invalid mix error.
Only eftpos or prepaid visa can be used to buy other gift cards.

      • -1

        Sort of.

I tried to use Westfield eftpos gift cards to purchase some glue at Officeworks a few months ago and each one triggered a Declined - Card Not Accepted error on the EFTPOS terminal as soon as I swiped it. The staff member had no idea what was going on.

If I was blocked from purchasing some glue, my guess is that I would be blocked from purchasing a gift card using a Westfield eftpos gift card.

        • Was the Officework in a Westfield centre?

          https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/westfield-gift-card-west…

          • +2

@jlogic: No, and I know what you are thinking.

Westfield does not actually restrict usage of their eftpos gift cards to just stores in Westfield shopping centres.

If you look this webpage on the Westfield website, it says under an image of the Westfield eftpos gift card:

Spend at participating stores in Australia with eftpos facilities, both within and outside Westfield centres

The gift card terms and conditions does not say anything about having to use a Westfield eftpos gift card within a Westfield. It only states:

            1. Westfield Gift Cards are redeemable at participating retailers in Australia with eftpos facilities (some retailers may not accept Westfield Gift Cards). A list of participating retailers located in Westfield shopping centres is available at westfield.com.au/giftcards.

Nearly all of the Westfield eftpos gift cards I have redeemed have been outside of Westfield shopping centres. For example, I redeemed a Westfield eftpos gift card at multiple merchants in Tasmania, even though the nearest Westfield is actually in Victoria…

Evidently, Officeworks has chosen to not accept Westfield eftpos gift cards as a payment method, and that is their call. The point I was trying to make before is that Officeworks does not accept all types of eftpos cards in their stores, which is counter to what the commenter above was asserting.

        • Would have been cheaper to buy the glue directly and not paid the purchase fee of the Westfield gift card

  • Anyone able to confirm if I am able to do split payments on The Iconic website? I want to buy a bag that costs $500 so can I buy 2 x $200 + $100 and do the split payment online?

    • I was looking on Iconic Website and found the below. The only thing I am not sure is whether this Celebration Gift Card is considered as Ultimate Gift Card.
      https://theiconicsupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/44185…

What if the value of the purchase I want to make is greater than the value/balance on the Ultimate Gift Card?

As ICONIC does not have an option for a split credit transaction, you will need to exchange your Ultimate Gift Card for an ICONIC E-Gift Card.

Exchanging your Ultimate Gift Card to an ICONIC E-Gift Card will allow you to make split purchases online by using the E-Gift Card as a form of payment and using another form of payment to pay the difference.

For more details about ICONIC E-Gift Cards, please see here.

How to exchange Ultimate Gift Cards into ICONIC E-Gift Cards?

Enter your Ultimate Gift Card number, Expiry Date, and PIN to see the available exchange options here: www.exchangeyourcard.com.au
Your CVV can be found under the scratch-off label below your card number on the back of your Ultimate Gift Card
Choose THE ICONIC as your retailer and exchange your card
Receive your chosen ICONIC E-Gift Card directly into your email (if you can't see it, don't forget to check your junk mail)

    • The more I look into it, I think it should work. Just need to exchange the gift card on this website to ICONIC E-Gift Cards.
      https://exchangecelebration.com.au/

      • Thanks so much for the info! Will give it a try

        • Let me know how you go. I am planning to do the same, but waiting for my suitcase to go on sale. I will buy the gift cards first, but will only exchange to iconic egift card when the time comes.

        • Please let me know as well how you go!

        • Confirmed! Also used in conjunction with my birthday promotion code and it worked fine for 2 gift cards.

    • The Iconic is works like using the "Store Credit" feature, so you may exchange the amount as needed, top-up the desired amount onto your account, then checkout and pay using the store credit stored from there.

  • Thanks.

  • Seem likes it good value GC but tricky to use.

    • how tricky? use instore?

    • Technically should be another variant of Ultimate Gift Cards.

  • -1

    another giftcard fight coming up!!!

  • wheres jb hifi?

  • Does anyone know if I can order iPhones instore for click&collect?

  • Can you do price matching when paying with gift cards at OW?

    • +1

      yes you can

  • Can you stack these cards with Ultimate Escapes online, if so how do you do that at checkout (and is there a limit?)

  • Is this TCN? I find that with TCN, you can check the balance but not transaction history.

    • +1

No. Celebration gift cards are basically a special type of Ultimate gift card exclusively sold at Coles.

  • How do you get it? Like goto coles early in the morning? LOL

  • -1

Wish you could get these online - would be much more convenient.

  • Any tricks to convert this to other places to get iPhone 15 Pro? OW OOS ATM

    • +1

      Wait for the stock.

  • Is it like those Ultimate Cards where you get a 16 digit long number, or do you have to swap it to a Giftcard?

    • +2

It is like those Ultimate Cards.

      • +1

Ok, thank you for the reply.

  • Can I buy 3 or 4 of the $200 & use them to pay for n Apple Watch at Officeworks in store and pay the difference?

  • When buying a celebration gift card.
To redeem in store at Officeworks.
Can you use the original coles celebration gift card in split payments or do you have to convert it to an e-gift card before you can split payments at Officeworks?

    • +2

Can you use the original coles celebration gift card in split payments

Yes, as long as the staff member lets you do that and knows how to do that.

Celebration gift cards are functionally Visa cards that can only be spent at a specific list of retailers (including Officeworks). If you ask to split payments across multiple cards (or multiple Visa cards) and tell the staff member the available balance on each Celebration gift card, you should have no issues.

do you have to convert it to an e-gift card before you can split payments at Officeworks?

      That is not possible.

      • +1

        Thanks for your advice Wookie.
Managed to do exactly that this morning at Officeworks.

  • daylight savings annoying says available today for me at 11pm :(
