Price is… OK. But id love to see an independant audit on those claims.

Dedicated IP with no logs? ARP/route tables will have other ideas…

Unlimited Speeds? Please, we're pretty nerdy here, dont advertise with lies and fluff.

"VPNetworks LLC, under the Data Protection Services LLC holding company, which is headquartered in the US and operates under US legal jurisdiction"

All that said, people do say good things about streaming services via them, so could be an OK solution.

We’ve been in business for nearly 13 years—lies and fluff don’t last that long.

Unlimited speeds means we don’t throttle VPN server speeds, allowing users with faster ISPs to fully take advantage of their connection.

TorGuard does not keep any logs of user activity—this includes traffic, connection timestamps, or any identifiable information. Our no-logs policy has been tested and upheld under legal scrutiny, ensuring the privacy of our users.

Regarding ARP and route tables, these are system-level network mechanisms temporarily used to manage routing and traffic during an active VPN session. They are not designed to store user activity or metadata, and our hardware does not have the capability to log such information.

As outlined in our privacy policy, the only time we log an IP address is during the purchase process to protect against credit card fraud.

Yes, we’re based in the USA, where there are strong privacy laws and no legal requirement for VPNs to log user activity. In reality, no company is completely immune from legal processes, regardless of where it is incorporated. What matters most for consumers is transparency—do you actually know who operates the VPN, or is it hidden behind shell corporations?

Agree - TorGuard is required to provide information "if required by US law"
This is a BIG negative for some people.
    App last updated Feb 2024
Better and cheaper providers out there

    • +4

Yes, as stated in our terms, we would comply with a valid law enforcement process, just like any other VPN provider. However, due to our strict no-logs policy, there is nothing to provide regarding historical IP activity.

      App last updated Feb 2024

Feature creep is a common issue with VPN apps. Our app is very stable, and we only release updates for minor bug fixes when necessary. App stability is our top priority, and our client already includes all essential features. We won't risk breaking something with unnecessary updates unless bug fixes are required. Similarly, the official WireGuard client was last updated on February 16, 2023. Why? Because it’s simple and it works.

Agree - TorGuard is required to provide information "if required by US law"

They can’t provide what they don’t have. Your neg is invalid.

    • Better and cheaper providers out there

I'd be interested to hear of any.
There are cheaper, there are "better" but I've never come across both.

  • +3

It doesn't matter where a VPN is located or who provides it, Proton, Surfshark, Express, PIA, Mullvad will hand over information. They will provide user details/logs when law requests it. No one is going to go to prison for you for $5 a month, don't kid yourself.

The good VPN's collect little information as possible/make it so little or no information can be handed over because they don't have it but make no mistakes when requested by a court, they will hand over what they have.

The problem with TORguard is not it's jurisdiction but it's VPN app. On Windows it's horrible. It's like they hired a high schooler to code it. It's just not fit for commercial or personal use. TORguard please hire someone who is competent to code your app, look to the industry standards Mullvad, Proton, Surfshark, Express on what a real good fit for purpose VPN application is actually like.

Our app may look simple, but it's reliable and less bloated than others. It focuses solely on VPN features. We're the only VPN that offers three built-in protocols: WireGuard, OpenVPN, and OpenConnect.

When using OpenVPN, you can choose from three different secondary stealth TLS layers—Stunnel, WStunnel, and Shadowsocks—to help bypass VPN blocking. You have full control over DNS options both prior to connecting and during VPN use. The app will automatically load your dedicated IP, or you can add a shared static IP from our network.

NAT firewall is enabled by default, but you can disable it to access local network resources while connected to the VPN. The app also features a functional connection kill switch and app kill switch, along with bash script automation options for connection and disconnection. Additionally, you can modify the OpenVPN driver/MTU and WireGuard MTU, or even import a custom WireGuard configuration.

So yes, the UI may look a bit retro, but don't let that fool you. It's packed with every feature a VPN user could need—especially if you're technically inclined.

    • If you don’t like the app but otherwise find the service OK, they let you export either OpenVPN or Wireguard profiles from their web site that you can use with alternative VPN tools. I have no Windows experience, but have used Viscosity on Mac with OpenVPN as well as Wireguards official client.

Sorry it's still poor to bad and it needs to be improved. Installed it once and it just hangs and struggles to load. If you can't use it cleanly and properly then what's the point?

Update the UI while you're at it, there is no point in having a critical app that looks dated by 10/15 years.

And you're not alone, a lot of popular VPN apps have issues so I'm not only picking on you.

I have zero issues with your jurisdiction just your app, in fact being in the USA is probably a net benefit due to restrictions on USA spooks being able to collect USA data.

    • We have over a hundred thousand clients, and there are no known widespread issues with the app hanging during loading or VPN connection. Our VPN client provides detailed progress updates during the connection process and allows you to connect via direct IP if you're experiencing DNS issues. If you’re encountering a problem like this, it’s likely due to system-specific factors. We encourage you to reach out to our support team—we're always happy to assist and resolve any issues.

Update the UI while you're at it

Cross-platform compatibility is a key priority for us. Our GUI is designed to be simple and functional, ensuring it works seamlessly across all platforms, including Linux and ARM. As a VPN provider, our focus is to deliver a feature-rich, reliable client that prioritizes functionality over flashiness. It doesn’t come with unnecessary extras like antivirus software scanning your system—it’s just a straightforward VPN client that consistently works.

We appreciate your input and are always looking for ways to improve, so if you have additional suggestions, we’d love to hear them.

    • Installed it once and it just hangs and struggles to load. If you can't use it cleanly and properly then what's the point?

      Use Wireguard. Simple.

  • I have been with them over 10 years now. Only issue is speed, i am getting 1MB per second these days :(.

    • Thank you for your support! A download speed of 1MB is not normal, and there could be several reasons for this, such as your location or ISP. WireGuard is designed to provide the fastest download speeds, so please reach out to our support team, and we’ll work with you to resolve this issue.

I tried them, performance is terrible on windows PC, regardless what server you choose. Avoid!

    • What do you define as “terrible”? Vague nonsense.

    • Yeah honestly I’ve been using torguard for like 5 years, even got a fire stick for free from them at some stage. The app on the phone and windows is basic and I’ve ran into a few problems but these are minor and never had any really serious issues and is great value when you snag a good deal.

My plex server thanks torguard for its service

  • GardenGnome and MasterScythe both have good points.

How does the Dedicated IP work? Is the IP shared with another use when not being used? Can it be moved it to another server?
Are there any pictures of the GUI?
    When does the offer end?

    • The Dedicated IP is incredibly useful for bypassing CAPTCHAs, online shopping, streaming, and accessing websites that may block or limit known VPN IPs.

If you cancel your Dedicated IP, it will return to an available pool of IPs, but it’s not part of the shared network while it’s assigned to you.

Dedicated IPs and Residential IPs are tied to specific server locations, so the exact IP cannot be moved to a different server. However, you can switch to a different location if needed by selecting a new Dedicated IP in the desired region.

As for pictures of the GUI, feel free to contact our support team or check out our website for more details.

The current offer is available for 30 days.

Funny, I've just read through all the comments, and responses from the OP. I'm actually more convinced to sign up now than when I started. It looks like the OP is providing sensible, open and logical answers to the loaded comments. As an old school nerd, I appreciate lack of software updates (do you remember the 90s when software was buy-once-keep-forever (no updates)?), and that it's stable and solid enough to not necessitate constant updating. If the UI is old school, that's cool. With OpenVPN and other protocols, would you even need this client if running with a Linux/FreeBSD server (as I would be)?

Whereas with deals from others like NordVPN (whom I can't understand can basically offer a service for free, via cash back deals), there's just love and no questions/criticism.

    • Thanks for the kind words! 😊 We’re old-school nerds too, and we’ve found that the majority of our clients prefer fewer app updates, as our client already includes all the popular features. Unless there’s a bug to fix, our priority is providing a stable experience without breaking things. After all, stability is key when offering a VPN.

If you’re running a Linux or FreeBSD server, you don’t need our client at all. You can simply install and use the standard WireGuard or OpenVPN clients via the command line. For added convenience, we offer a configuration generator in the member’s area. This allows you to select any OpenVPN or WireGuard location and easily generate a config file, which you can then use on your FreeBSD server. Here's a quick setup guide for WireGuard on FreeBSD:

      Install WireGuard:

      pkg install wireguard

      Create the Configuration File:

Copy the generated configuration file from the member’s area and paste it into a new file:

      nano /etc/wireguard/wg0.conf

      Set Permissions:

      chmod 600 /etc/wireguard/wg0.conf

      Enable WireGuard at Boot:

Add the following line to /etc/rc.conf:

      wg0_enable="YES"

      Load the Kernel Module:

      kldload if_wg

To ensure it loads on boot, add this to /boot/loader.conf:

      if_wg_load="YES"

      Start WireGuard:

      service wireguard start

      Check Status:

      service wireguard status

We’re happy to hear that our approach resonates with you, and if you ever have questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for considering our service!

    • Funny, I've just read through all the comments

Lot of clowns here. Just ignore them.

    • I noted this in another response I just submitted, but if the app isn’t to your liking you can use a different app anyway. The wireguard clients a free option (and my preferred protocol over OpenVPN), but I’ve also used Viscosity on Mac. TorGuard has the config export stuff in the main menu of the client area, it’s easily accessible and made available by them.

If you want to load in stacks of locations it’ll be a bit of a PITA to load in lots of configs into another app, but if you settle on a few servers spanning different countries, or the dedicated IP you’re getting here, then its certainly an option and not much effort.

Edit: In terms of personal experience, I only use a VPN really for the occasional online shopping. TorGuards been solid for that but I’m not eyeballing transaction speeds for this use case. When I’ve needed to talk to their support such as setting up the dedicated IP or changing my plan when new and better offers arrived, they’ve always been incredibly helpful and responsive. I’d say on average I wouldn’t wait more than 15 minutes and I think the slowest response was an hour or two. And yeah, they’ve been more than accomodating when I decided to transition to new offers as long as I was happy for the plans term to start over.

  • Torguards been okay for me, the Windows app just decides it doesn't want to work sometimes with the dedicated IP from a previous deal though, and while connected to that IP I was getting more captchas than using a normal Aus server lol. It was free though so I'm not going to complain too much. Overall it was pretty good for streaming too.

    • Thanks for the feedback! This year, we transitioned one of our residential IP server locations to a new provider. The previous IPs had been in use for over 6 years, so it’s possible they were flagged and triggered more CAPTCHAs.

We now have fresh IP pools available, and if you’re experiencing issues, we’d be happy to replace your IP. Just reach out to our support desk, and we’ll get it sorted for you. Glad to hear it’s been pretty good for streaming overall!

      • Thank you for the update. The last time I tried the residential IP was a few months ago so I'll try using it again. I'll contact support if I have any issues.
        Cheers.

  • This or Surfshark? As Surfshark has a pretty good deal too

    • Surfshark are now owned by Nord so I wouldn’t touch them.

      • Aren’t they still an independent company persay

  • Not seeing the dedicated IP addon being added to the the basket when I change the billing cycle to biennial?

    • Try deleting the plan from your cart and then re-adding the biannual plan. If you still don’t see the IP add-on, you can claim the free dedicated IP after your purchase by submitting a support ticket. Just let us know which location you’d like.

  • Another long-term torguard user here. Torguard are great. I have fttp at 100mbs and have no problems maxing out my connection while using torguard. Approx 11MB per second. Also importantly, their support is great. They respond very promptly when tickets are logged and seem to have people that actually know what they are saying and doing. 70 percent off is great. I applied a 70 percent offer on my existing service last time they offered this and used a ticket and was done in less than hour with a couple of exchanges of messages.

    • Thank you for your support! We truly appreciate it.

  • Been using TorGuard for 4 year plus and subscribed until 2029. Been using Dedicated Streaming IPs (USA & UK) for Netflix, Hulu, Starz, HBO Max, BBC iPlayer for years without Netflix cancelling on me. My Apple TVs and Google TV are permanently on USA IP for years now through my router (they have config generator tool). Support is quick, fantastic, knowledgeable and know their shit. Always willing to work with you no matter if it sales or tech support. I am never cancelling my service @ that price.

  • Where can i buy torguard gift cards? I saw them as a payment option.

    • Currently, we don’t have any official distributors, but we’re looking to establish some soon. Most of the gift cards available are provided through our free giveaways.
