Kogan Prepaid Mobile 90 Days 120GB (40GB Per 30 Days) $16 Delivered @ Kogan (New Customers Only)

951

120GB total over 90 days. 40GB per 30 days.

Unlimited standard calls + texts within Australia.

Kogan Mobile uses the Vodafone network.

If your typical usage is less than 20GB, the 60GB 90 day for $14.90 deal will probably suit you better.

If you only need a starter pack for 30 instead of 90 days, these 2 deals offer lower cost per month, but obviously only for a single month.

20GB, 30 days, $2.90.

30GB, 30 days, $1, but uses a constantly changing UNIDAYS code, so it will probably be a bit fiddly to purchase.

Wow good deal if you need heaps of data, normally it's $14.90 for 60GB. Meanwhile Belong Mobile are coming up with new ways to make their sims less attractive.

    • +3

I couldn't wait to move off Belong. No voicemail and calls were getting dropped or not coming through at all. Support was completely useless.

      • +1

When covid first hit Belong moved their nbn support to email. I only had a billing issue that was okay to sort out over email, but imagine troubleshooting an internet connection over email? Ughh.

      • +1

And no more $10 plan for ppl who were on it previously

        • +3

Second that! No more $10 plan is the dealbreaker for me.

  • +1

Is this deal for new customers only? Ie. I can't use this voucher as a recharge?

    • +5

Looks like it can also be used to recharge.

What happens after I purchase my voucher code?
After purchasing this product, you will be sent a unique Kogan Mobile vouchers by email within 24 hours and a Kogan Mobile SIM Starter Pack by post. If you are activating a new Kogan Mobile service, visit the activation centre to redeem a voucher. If you are already a Kogan Mobile customer, simply login to your account and use your voucher to recharge.

      • Great. And if you recharge early before your current plan expires, the new plan kicks in immediately and you lose the remaining days in your old plan. Do you know if this is correct?

        • +1

          Most likely.

        • +2

You will definitely lose the remaining days

        • +2

Just set a reminder to add the voucher on the last day your existing credit expires.
It's good that this is even for existing customers, I've not seen that before.
How long is the voucher valid for does anyone know?

          • @SimAus007: Who cares if you lose a few days for people using this as a re-charge.

This 3 month super cheap 3 month voucher rarely can be used to re-charge, so be happy to be able to

use this voucher even if you lose a few days or even weeks.

            • +1

@ozhunter68: The issue has come to light that this is not for existing users. Other than that I agree :)

              • @SimAus007: Yep, I read that an hour fifeteen minutes ago too four comments below.

    • +1

      No, existing too

      • Not sure about this one on the fine print.

'Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges'

Does this mean, you can't use second voucher for recharge and only the first recharge can be used?

        • Really not surprised. Was too good to be true.

    • +4

No recharge for me. Just received the email, tried to recharge and it said "Invalid Voucher". My current plan is LARGE - 90 DAYS expiring next week.

      • Contact them and complain. It clearly says that it can be used for recharging.

        • It's strange ain't it.

The product page also presents the option to purchase without the, (free), starter SIM.

      • +3

Received the voucher, and states it's for NEW customers only. WTF!

  • +1

Does anyone know how many of the recharges you can stack onto?

    • +5

Voucher must be redeemed by 11:59pm AEST on 30/04/2022.

    • +3

You can't "stack", when you apply it, your existing plan is killed.

  • +2

I ordered it and when I received the email, the voucher says:

This voucher is valid for new customers only. Please visit the Activation Centre to redeem your voucher.

    • Did you try the code on your existing service?

      • Not yet. My plan expires in mid May. I'm not 100% sure if it stacks.

        • Same.. would be good to know before i pull the trigger

        • If it does stack, I think activating the voucher early will forfeit any remaining days you have on your old plan. Just something to note.

          • @vee_el: Correct, they don't stack, your existing plan will be removed when you add the new code.

    • Same for me, voucher says new customer only.

    • Mine says the same, I've got 3 weeks on my annual plan left otherwise I'd give it a go. Who's got the time to go on live chat and query and post here for all

    • Same for me, I've sent a message via their customer care, not sure how soon I can get the response.

      • +1

I called and it's new only!

    • maybe you can get a new number?

  • +1

Does Ruslan give us free calls to Russia?

    • +1

No, but also free to Ukraine.

Ruslan may consider selling business before sanction occurs!

  • You buetty my current 3 month one ends next week time for another cheers

  • +2

I've just brought this and called Kogan mobile on 12612 and it's not for existing customers. I asked her why it would allow me to check out when I clicked existing customer and she wouldn't answer, useless call centre. That's a spew for $16. I'll port out for $2 and play the game. Any suggestions on quickest port out method? I need to port out around 11/04/2022 when my currently annual Kogan plan ends.

Would a $2 boost with no credit allow me onto Telstra network? To then come back to this

  • +2

Please update title New customers only! Thanks OP

  • Can you buy a starter sim and use this voucher or it has to go with the sim they deliver?

    • Can you buy a starter sim and use this voucher

      yes

  • +5

They've now updated title and description to state New Customers only. Cheeky Kogan!!! I've got my screenshots, if I had the time I'd go accc two balls in on them! Sneeky and deceptive!

Initial purchase, I clicked existing customer!

    • +1

      Why not 3 balls?

      • Lost the third ball when my third kid popped out

  • +1

They've changed the ad on the kogan page to say "New customers only" …. after a lot of us already bought!

    • Thought I'd just try and recharge my plan early. Comes back with "Invalid Voucher". Have emailed asking for a refund….let's see how I go.

  • +1

Oh, I just tried adding to mine also which was about to expire, spoke with them and this is definitely only for NEW customers.
They messed up, not our fault, typical of Kogan.

    • Did they offer you a refund because initially it said it could be used as a recharge (see my comment above).

If they won't help then you are within your rights to lodge a complaint with the TIO. This ends up costing Kogan more money than $16.00 so tell them you will do this if they don't refund you.

      • They told me to port out and port back in. I will take it to the TIO.

  • +2

If you can't get a refund then try selling them on Classifieds

    • Lol, I'd love to read comments for that post

Do Kogan consider a "new customer" to simply mean a "new (or ported in) phone number"? Or do other identifying details also classify as an existing user?
In other words … if I am already an existing Kogan mobile customer but I don't need to keep the phone number (ie I just need the service for data, not voice), can I still use the same details (ie same name, address, credit card, etc) that I have previously used to sign up for this?

    • +1

From my experience, Kogan Mobile "accounts" are based on the mobile number. So you cannot use vouchers intended for new customers if you're already with them and you cannot port back in within 30 days of porting out.

The identity part is just for ID verification. I've used the same details multiple times for multiple concurrent numbers with no issues. I've even gone over their supposed 4 SIM limit without any trouble whatsoever. Other telcos might enforce a concurrent SIM limit per identity more strictly.

I imagine it will only be problematic if you end up with a really excessive number of SIMs (no idea exactly how many) and start using them for illegal activity. Then, certain government agencies might use this information to make it easier to track you down. Us bargain hunters probably have nothing to worry about.

      • Thanks for the details. Are you using the same Kogan login each time you sign up for a new sim, or creating a new login each time?

        • Same login for dozens of kogan sims I've activated/bought via.

          • @humperdoo: How are you doing this when the login is based on the mobile number? Unless you are talking about deals that allow existing customers to recharge?

        • +1

Like I said, the account unique identifiers are based on the mobile service number. Whether you supply the same details for the ID verification process during porting does not matter (again, unless you have a lot and are a criminal).

          https://accounts.koganmobile.com.au/customer/login

Notice how the username on their account portal is the mobile service number.

So yes, I have multiple Kogan logins saved to my password manager. Every login has different usernames, since the username is the mobile service number.

If you don't use a password manager and want a single login with all the mobile services similar to Amaysim, you won't find that here.

          • @non-core promise:

Like I said, the account unique identifiers are based on the mobile service number.

Ahh yes of course. Thanks again.

  • Hey guys, just wondering who else is good besides Kogan for sim whoring. I used to bounce between Kogan and Amaysim but the latter have been a bit fickle with deals lately

    • are you having bad experience with amaysim? im planning to port with them next month. tnx

      • +1

amaysim are very slick, cycled through them twice

  • Any worthwhile 6 month or 12 month current deals?

  • +1

Jesus, will I never learn this these fvckers? Biggest scammers in Australia.

Told them to recharge my account or refund or else PayPal will refund me.

    • Ok, got my refund.

      • How did you get your refund? So far they haven't done anything for me.

  • You can port/transfer your current phone number to this plan yeah?

    • Yes.

  • Happy to buy someone’s code if you can’t use it

    • I'll sell it to you.

  • Got a swift refund, no questions asked. Honestly, my recent communication with Kogan has been very pleasant.

  • Anyone got a code I can buy? thx

  • I also want to buy a code, please PM me if you are wanting to sell.

    Thanks
