I've tried a few different controllers (Sensibo, Ambiclimate, Broadlink) and this one is the best.

Controls your air conditioner (any with a remote, but check for compatibility, particularly for ducted). You can even control it via the internet.

Or the Air & Room sensor version for $179 which looks like it adds a motion sensor so it can tell if you're there and turn it on or off (or up & down) to suit. I've not used that one.

  • Cheaper here if you’re an Origin customer, or know someone who is -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/673094

AGL are offering this too, $69 and a $20 bill credit but they are wanting to control your aircon during high demand on the grid (when you want your aircon), they do say you can disable that feature though

It's $109 everywhere at the moment. Might as well pickup from JB and save on shipping

    • Quite right. I hadn’t checked anywhere else. Particularly if you have Jb gift cards

  • I have one of these and it works perfectly all the time.
Has anybody used the Sensibo Pure air purifier and have any feedback on it?

    • Looks very small so it’d take ages to do anything.

I need one for an Actron air with no remote. The unit is 4yo.

  • Interested in this one but not sure how this actually works - does it actually control the temperature of the AC via remote control? If someone adjusted the temperature of the AC via the original AC remote control, does the Sensibo know what temperature the AC has been set to?

    • Used instead of the remote. There an app. I can't remember what happens if the remote is used. I think if it's within 'earshot' of the sensibo it knows about it. Or it reads it from the next time it interacts with the AC. Occasionally it can get out of sync with it being on, or off (like if the remote is used out of 'earshot'), but you can tell the app to correct for that.

      • Thanks mate. so the sensibo is able to keep track of exactly what temperature the AC is being set - or do I have to correct it from time to time.

  • Does this work for air conditioning units without remote controls? Asin it just has a wall panel that you change the settings on.

    • +1

No. Needs a remote, or more importantly a remote receiver on the unit. Some splits have a fixed wall control, but also may work with a remote, but not be provided with one (public housing usually do this).

  • ordered 2 for 138 through agl :) lets see how it is

  • If your aircon has IR, broadlink have an IRblaster that works with alexa and an app. Costs about 35 bucks. Learning from existing Remotes or with 1000's of appliances preprogrammed. Might be a bit of a faff the first setup, but with some informed macros, easy to set any temp you want. It'll control ya telly as well. 😁

  • These are great - would recommend

Sync to home assistant perfectly and send updates done via the MANUAL remote back to the system, (ir send/receive)
