Another Dick Smith Store Closing Sale - York and Barrack Sts Sydney

70

Just thought I'd let you know that the York St and Barrack St DSE store in Sydney is having 'their' closing sale. The signs say up to 40% off.
I just picked up a Wii console (the Mario kart bundle with game and wheel) for $108.80

please be kind as this is my first post and I couldnt spot a previous OZ bargain one for this store

Kaikat advises that to check which stores are closing try: http://dicksmith.com.au/help/customer-notice-content

No point going unless you already work there.

True. If the staff have any sense they'll set aside the best bargains for either themselves or their friends to buy and resell on eBay.

  • Is there any way to find out which other stores will be closing? Or is it just a guessing game?

    • USE the store locator on their site, it will tell you.

      • great. thanks. Not many in Victoria from what I can see.

  • I believe they have Wii Console, Mario Kart and Wheel for $128 not long ago.

    They should do better.

Hi this is the one I bought, I will update the description to clarify

it maybe more accurate to say "York St and Barrack St DSE store(staff) in Sydney is having 'their' closing (ebay) sale"!

    • ouch, I didnt know they were that mean. I just asked for a box from the window and they sold it to me. I dont work for DSE but around the corner.

  • How much discount for unlock mobile phone?

    • I think it was 10-15% on mobs

      • Was thinking to buy a better Android phone like Samsung Galaxy W.

      • As I remember from another closing store they have 15-20% which I believe for unlock phone is 20%. But may be difference from store to store.

***** Neg is because of the phone no good or what? ************

        • because people have nothing better to do, look at my above post

I saw the newer closing store near me have it in stock.

So I am not talking about the York street one.

    • im sick of seeing it on every post too.

then leave some genuine sale stock for the public

10% - 40% discount is based on the original price rather than the current sale price, nothing really bargain you can find in the store

  • +3

not many bargains in store. Most things are 10-15% off original price and they will not negotiate any further. You get such bargains usually.

    • thats right, I checked another closing stores prices and were only a few dollars lower on hdds (for example) than jbhifi.

they seem to use the same signage that WOW used also, like 'everything must go' and 'nothing held back'
except for the things that arent on any discount, like apple or kindles lol

these 'huge sales' are becoming like harvey norman's weekend 'huge sales', a bit of a snore.

      • Or places such as Myer, who might as well be permanently "on sale"…

      • Thats because the company managing the closing process of these DSE stores that are closing down is the same company that managed WoWs closing down sales. Thus why current DSE catalogues, offers don't apply to the stores that are closing down.

  • Bought an external hard disk: 1TB Seagate GFlex Desk USB3. Uses external power supply.

Price is on special at $79 (it's in their current catalogue).

At my local closing down store they took 10% off that price at the till, so my cost is $71.10. Happy with that.

  • I went to DSE York St hoping to save something on inkjet printer cartridges, turns out is was cheaper to walk down to George street store as they had 20% off (same as online). York Street were only 15% off. (I was buying more than 1, so easily worth the walk :))
