I usually get this set to give for kris kringle!
Big wow factor and not too much to send on someone for a reaction

    • +12

You spend over $300 for Kris kringle??!!
Is this like a high roller kris kringle, or just you trying to outdo everyone?

    • +5

$300+ Kris Kringle? Can I work where you do ;-)

      • +3

Pfft, come talk to me when you exchange rocket ships.

      • Proof that it's a $20 budget cap
        sad

  • I wish scanpan had a 32cm pan with a proper handle

  • Country of Origin: China

    • -2

Cause they make them cheap, sells at a low price and we can post them on ozbargain.com.au.

      Don't knock it. 😀

    • +1

      Why does that matter?

      • +9

Because where stuff comes from should.

      • -3

Because for example, maybe you dont like China making moves as it takes over the superpower role. Maybe, they need to know people will stop buying from them.

certainly makes more sense than waiting until they are occupying or invading neighbours, then having to sanction or go to war.

      • -1

Also for the environmental impact when you could buy something made local.

I have this very set at home, yes I do.

The metal handles get hot when you heat the metal pans that are attached to said handles via metal. Surprising, you'll surely agree.

    • +1

for the ''professional'' home chef who grips every handle with a tea towel

    • +1

I have this set also, and I don't find the handles get hot at all. But that's on an induction cooktop, so maybe on gas or electric there is some hot air convection that heats the handles more. But my handles don't get hot from the pan itself getting hot

      • Is it any good at this price point?

    • I agree. It’s not the best design. I have the Inox range which has plastic moulded over the metal handles making it easy to pick up without a tea towel. Unfortunately my Mom destroyed the steamer and pot by not putting enough water in the pot underneath so I could only replace it with an impact steamer and the handles heat up very fast and you can’t pick up the steamer without using a tea towel. I don’t recommend this range unless you don’t mind getting a teatowel each time to pick up a pot or steamer or have heat durable hands.

    Over inflated RRP

The 'drip free' rim design is marketing speak for 'a bit sharp' (source: own this set).

  • Don't pay $719,dont know where that rrp coming from but only idiot will pay that price

  • +4

Surely bonus points for not calling it a 15-piece set because of the lids.

  • -1

I prefer Tefal, much better quality

    • -4

      Really?
But I thought OzBargain liked shitting on anything coming from France?

  • OP, set of 16 is $339, set of 10 is $279. Unless price has dropped further since this was first posted

EDIT: looks like amazon is inconsistent with the title vs the option name

Damn, I purchased for $1199 last week

    • Good one,🤣🤣

  • Have heard good things about this brand as an entry level product.

Purchased the set as it has a good range of items without too much random shit we don't need.

If my knowledge aids me, you aren't supposed to use these on super high heat for too long.
Love the reviews of people stating these "aren't non stick" lol
Will report back how these go.

  • House recently had a closing down sale, but forgot to post - heard they're running an opening sale now, all between their Sunday and Tuesday, New Year sale. Prices slashed by 80% limited time only!!!@!!@!!!!
Not a bad price for this kit but no one ever bought it RRP, surely

  • I have some of these pots.. not really a great quality…
Should have just got a tefal

  • This set and similar Scanpan ones are on sale for this price frequently, I don't think that retail price has been charged ever. I have had this set for a few years and it's pretty decent for the price.

  • Handles get hot ?

  • Imagine spending the RRP on this!! I honestly wonder if anyone has
