  • How many points do you guys get with each referral?

I currently have a personal Amex. If my corporate entity/ABN get a card for me on this offer does AMEX consider me an existing card holder and no bonus points apply?

    • It would be super helpful if there was a process documented so you can easily check before applying. Eg ring this number, ask for xyz to be checked.

I last applied for an amex just over 18 months ago, but kept it for 10 months before cancelling it. So I dont know if I will get the points or have to wait.

      • OP should be able to answer this question?

        What about it pohaau?

        • +1

OP was looking to make a quick buck. Not stick around and answer questions.

          • @justafriend: Clearly the case.

            Once posted no further involvement.

    • keen to know as well

I thought affiliate links weren’t allowed on OZB? This deal is good but not exclusive like OP claims. Publicly available directly via Amex: https://www.americanexpress.com/au/business/partner-bonus-of…

  • Is this the same card as this?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/677527
I just applied for this but haven't been approved, wondering if I could withdraw my application and reapply.

    • +1

Looks to be the same. Have you already signed up for a QBR account? If you have, then the difference is really only 10k points.

      • +1

I haven't signed up for a QBR account, I think from the deal I posted AMEX opens one up for you once approved

        • +1

yeah gotcha. makes sense reapplying then. but i'd check with AMEX first to be sure.

    • Update:
Unable to withdraw application and re-apply as there's a 90 day cooling period for those wondering

    • Same card, different deal (increased bonus point offers).

      If you applied via Qantas directly you'd get up to 170,000 points (150,000 + 20,000) - https://www.qantas.com/au/en/business-rewards/earn-points-on…

  • +2

So many good cards for businesses lately but no particularly good personal cards to churn.

  • So if you already have a QBR account, is it just a case of creating another one for the 20k bonus points?
Then transfer the points from one account to another?

  • need ideas to spend the 3K! serious. got this card in Jan when it was last posted. having trouble finding places that accept amex without surcharge.

    • Business expenses?

      • was gonna pay my BAS, then found ATO charges 1.45% for using Amex! the OZBner in me just couldn't do it…

        need more ideas…

        gift cards?
        stock up on gold?

        • +1

That's what I did, but through sniip. 1.5% surcharge, so more than ato fee, but you get the full 1.25/$1 qff points. Plus you should be able to deduct the surcharge. Still only really worth it if there's nothing else you can spend it on or planning to use the qff for biz flights.

  • $75k minimum revenue kills it for many unfortunately

    • -2

I have well over $75k revenue, but it's e-commerce and 99% is not Australian revenue so I'm not GST-registered and therefore not eligible.
