    How much is 98 atm?

  • +2

    locked and loaded

  • +1

    Only if I had an iphone……… :(

Good luck to those that do get it, i'd love to get it.

    • +1

      Why? Super easy on Android.

      • +5

I think the issue is making it a rooted phone. I'm old. Let me try it I guess.

        • +2

Well, easy on Pixel (Android 12, Magisk 24.1)
          1. Unlock bootloader (this will wipe all the data on your phone if you haven't already done so already).
          2. Install Magisk
          - Hide Magisk App
          - Enable Zygisk
          3. Install Universal SafetyNet Fix by kdrag0n
          4. Install Zygisk - LSPosed
          5. Install Mock Mock Locations
          6. Enable Mock Mock Locations in LSPosed and enable for My 7-Eleven.
          7. Install GPS spoofing app (I use FakeGPS route).
          8. Enable GPS spoof app as mock location provider in developer settings.
          9. Spoof to location.
          10. Lock in Fuel Price.
          11. Profit.

          • @gamerkonks: How do you unlock bootloader to start with? :-)

            • +2

              @ShouldIBuyIt:

How do you unlock bootloader to start with? :-)

It's specific to each phone and manufacturer
              1) Enable Dev Options (spam tap android build)
              2) Allow OEM bootloader unlocking
              3) Follow your specific phone's unlocking instructions (normally restarting into recovery mode and typing in a code via an adb command)

        • +3

I've written a guide for Android 10/11 that uses the more traditional Magisk + Smali Patcher + Safetynet Fix

Zygisk is if you have Android 12 and above

My phones operating as remote-choppers are not the newest as well
They're all on Android 10 or LineageOS equivalent
          Xperia Z5
          Xperia Z5C
          Samsung S6 Edge+
          Nexus 6P
          Samsung A20
          Pixel 2XL

          • +1

@cwongtech: I should have mentioned that I have pixel 1 and 2xl handy.

            • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: My guide was made with a Pixel 2XL as the example device with step-by-step tutorial as well, just follow it completely

Pixel 1 will work, Nexus 6p is older than Pixel 1
I've executed this process on a Pixel 2 as well.

              • +1

@cwongtech: Edit: gotcha, didn't realise there was a specific section for pixel 2xl step by step, my bad.
                Cheers mate!

              • @cwongtech: Awesome, I could update my spare pixel2XL and have now my pilot licence!
Could not pass the fastboot devices command on my pixel 1, no idea why.
                Cheers mate for the guide!

                • @ShouldIBuyIt:

                  Congratulations, happy flying!

Could not pass the fastboot devices command on my pixel 1, no idea why.

May need to get fastboot drivers specific to your Pixel 1

                  Cheers mate for the guide!

I'm glad you found it helpful :)

    • +4

Let me know I will lock it for u this time

      • Hey buddy, can you give me a hand this time?

  • +6

If I had time I’d lock for those asking but sadly I’m in the uni lab atm. Bless those who are helping 🙏

    • +1

      Thanks for sharing!!

  • too bad no E10 in WA :(((

  • If only my car took E10…

    • +2

Same. Always wonder if it'd be fine or not. The government E10 propaganda site says my car can take E10, but Kia/Suzuki both specify minimum 95 octane.

      • +3

I once ran E10 in a mid-2000s Renault Megane that specified 95 minimum. It was NOT happy about it. Haven't been willing to risk it in any Euro car since.

        • Ran fine in my BMW f30. States needs RON95, but this E10 is 94 apparently. But I did chicken out and ended up continuously topping up 98 to dilute it out.

          • +1

@diazepam: Uh oh! Look who can no longer say “always filled with 98” when selling their car. Jk just do it, who’s gonna know ;)

            • @Dr Fruit: haha. funnily enough you say that. I use 98 only apart from the once that E10 was 99.9 and I couldn't resist… and even then as I said I kept topping it up with 98.

      • +3

E10 has an octane rating of 94.
That's not the reason they don't want you to use it.

        • +1

it's probably the high sulphur content.
my early 2000 euro runs fine with it (possibly better), but i mainly use 98 from costco as it's almost always cheaper than the 95 offerings elsewhere… but i'll be filling up with e10 because of this deal

      • +1

        Which car?
Check the Kia owners manual, says it on page 3 if it can take E10.

        • +5

yeah, but their mate's brother's sister's cousin's uncle said their mate Robbo was told by a mechanic's nephew that e10 damages engines

        • Kia Sportage my15.

    • Used it on my 350Z that says needs min U95 many many times. No issues apart from reduced acceleration.

  • +1

    Awesome, thank you :)

  • +2

Thanks heaps OP. Just about to top up at 1.58 E10.

  • +1

E10 is 197.9 at my closest - Woolies Caltex.

Never seen it that high around here, so massive savings with this if I can get the lock

    • +6

  • +1

Amazing. Elsewhere price is over 1.60. May be pricing error.

    • +1

I think its supposed to be $1.67 and they inserted the zero by mistake :D

      • Even that would be crazy cheap for the area. Labrador 7-Eleven has E10 for 194.9

  • +3

    you are a hero

  • You r real hero mate locked twice for both cars

  • +1

Y'all reckon my 2005 Accord 2.5L i-VTEC can take E10? I've been putting 95+ just because it says so on the gas cap… but damn it's so expensive and I cannot believe an Accord needs premium gas.

    • I filled my 2007 Honda Accor 3.0 L V6 with E10 only as it was very thirsty.

    • You may snicker but I only put 98 in my 06 Accord Euro. But 9 years later, no issues - not even one with engine, etc.

      • +1

You may snicker but I only put 98 in my 06 Accord Euro. But 9 years later, no issues - not even one with engine, etc.

I put 95/98 depending on availability into my 08 Accord Euro. But 13 years later, no issues.
I'm not a 98 RON snob, but sometimes when there's a good 7/11 destination, 98 is cheaper than 95 for me.

As I mentioned in my comment.. compression ratios cannot be changed by changing your fuel type

People say you can put whatever fuel in your car "because modern cars can retard the timing ignition to adjust for knocking"
By definition, knocking is when the fuel explodes before it fully compresses (which the spark plugs then ignite at the optimal compression ratio)

How is a car going to adjust the timing of a spark plug ignition, when the fuel has already exploded before the compression stroke completes?
Unless it automatically restricts the fuel injection rate (which would therefore make the fuel-air mixture run lean/less fuel/too much air), the above logic about retarding ignition makes no sense to me.

Same as putting in 98 RON fuel for "efficiency" - the piston volume does not change depending on the fuel type you put in, and therefore the compression ratio.

Therefore, it says 95 RON minimum on my petrol flap, I use 95 or 98 (whichever is cheaper). Car is happy.

        • Used 98 on the way to Sydney. Fuel economy 7.1L p/100

Used 94 on the way back 7.3L and I floored it a little coming home.

Can save quite a bit of fuel if you stick it in nuetral down big hills.

          Euro 2012 manual.

Interestingly CRV says E10 compatible same motor. Mine says 95 RON min

          • @Korban Dallas:

Can save quite a bit of fuel if you stick it in nuetral down big hills.

Cannot do this for an auto though, the engine RPM will ramp up to match.

I can go into S mode and paddle shift to the highest gear I suppose (5 speed auto)

Interestingly CRV says E10 compatible same motor. Mine says 95 RON min

            Very interesting!

      • +2

I do 95/98, whichever cheaper. Not a lot of 7-11s actually have 95 tho I’ve found.

Mines 2005 2.4L 4cyl, just below 150k km. No issues whatsoever, at maintenance the mechanic says some oil leak, vtech solenoid greasy, etc. I just keep an eye on the oil level and have actually never had to top it up anyway, just regular oil changes every 7000-8000km. The most solid car I’ve ever had.

    • You sure it's not a 2.4L accord? I'm pretty sure the k24 engine is the one you have and it does require a minimum of 95 RON petrol, but every once in a while filling a 94 RON E10 for 1 tank is not bad, I know this because I have the same engine

      • Sorry yeah I made a typo, it’s the 2.4L. I have the k24a4 engine. And yeah the gas cap says 95 RON, so I’ve been doing 95/98 only. But e10 is tempting sometimes… especially recently since prices are through the roof.

  • +1

    Thanks. Just locked it.

  • +4

Hmm wondering if I should use E10 for the first time ever…

    • +1

same. is there much difference between 91?

      • +1

The difference is like distilled water versus tap water.

  • +1

Can E10 be used as a substitute for 91?

  • +1

Heck yeah, anyone need a chopper ride?

    • +1

Yes please , can i pm you

    • Yes, will Pm you. Thank you

    • Not doing anymore, sorry.
