    Is anyone else experiencing, the iOS Apple wallet for the Ampol gift card is NOT updating the remaining balance?

      I have issues with the Android Wallet. So I set up a spreadsheet to track the balance and also keep the last receipt.

    Shame RAA swapped their 4c a litre discount to Caltex (6c a litre). That made for a good deal. Now if Shopback could do the same with Caltex cards…

      I think the main issue is that Caltex has put very little effort into Caltex StarCash gift cards.

      • A digital version currently does not exist.

      • Only around 45% of Caltex service stations currently accept physical Caltex StarCash gift cards (and the only way you can purchase them appears to be at these service stations).

      Btw, there are still other fuel discount offers at EG Ampol you can use. If you do not regularly spend $30 on eligible items in one transaction at Woolworths and do not have an Origin account or Rest Super account1, I think the easiest fuel discount offer to access is the one from arevo, as you can sign up for free (after giving away some personal details) and get a 4c/L discount once a day.2

      1. The Rest Super fuel discount offer terms and conditions state the offer cannot be used in conjunction with AmpolCash gift cards, but the previous time the Rest Super fuel discount offer was active, it was possible to do this. ↩

      2. The fuel discount drops to 1c/L if you stack it with a Woolworths fuel discount stored on an Everyday Rewards card or a paper Woolworths fuel voucher. ↩

    Can I use AmpolCash gift cards to pay for gift cards sold in-store at Ampol?
    Highly unlikely.

    It is against the AmpolCash Conditions of Use to do this.
    At Ampol Foodary and EG Ampol service stations, attempting to do this should see the EFTPOS terminal return an error, indicating the payment method is not permitted. It is not known whether other types of Ampol service stations also do the same.

              If you got $100 and it's expiring and you don't need buy anything now. Getting an extension on the expiry is the next best thing.

      With the digital version, the easiest way is supposed to be to check the available balance displayed on the gift card within Apple Pay or the WalletPasses app, but it looks like this feature is not working correctly at the moment.

      The only other ways you can check the balance are:

      • Look at the receipt for the last transaction the gift card was used. In the section where it provides information on the gift card redemption, it should say Remaining Card value is $xxx.xx Card Expiry xx/xx.
      • Call the AmpolCash team during their operating hours.
      • Email the AmpolCash team.

      I only really use the physical version, and I have a small sticky note stuck on top of the gift card with the remaining balance written on it.

      Are you mainly referring to issues getting cashback tracked and approved? Or something else? I've found these cards to be a reasonably reliable purchase for a while now…can't say the same for everything else at SB though l.

        There's a bunch of genuinely problematic unjustified denials of legitimate cashback claims.

        I believe there's a Coca-Cola one, and a ton of booze ones. I am one of them - 2 cases of Superdry at full price for 50% cashback. Tracked at zero.

        No phone lines. Chatbot has no human agents. E-mails don't get responses.

        I'm waiting my five days from e-mail then going to AFCA and FTNSW.

        Until this is resolved they should be banned from this place.
