      Code changed to UNIVERSITY

  • TAKE NOTE:

Kogan has changed the activation expiry date to 30/11/2022. When they've done that in the past I've seen people in the comments saying they've been fobbed off by Kogan reps.

In other words, those people who bought SIMs when the activation expiry was December, keep in mind Kogan reps might later claim the expiry was November instead. They've done it before. So if they do it again you might have a month less to activate than you first thought.

  • The Kogan web site shows voucher expiry date as 30/11/2022 as Faulty P xei notes. However my order/voucher email states "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 31/12/2022." Faulty P xei you are very experienced, do you think the email simply has not been updated as per the web site? Cheers

    • Sorry I didn't get a notification of your comment - just saw it now.

Yeah they probably forgot to copy/paste it over to the email. Pretty common for Kogan to have contradicting t&c's. If you plan to activate some close to their expiry, keep the email to prove the date to a Kogan rep when the time comes. Personally, I just bought extras. If I use them all then I've saved some $. And If I don't get to use them, apparently you can phone them and get a refund on unused vouchers. (Someone said this in a Kogan thread on here a while ago.)

  • If they keep going with these $1 deals they might run out of synonyms

  • Not working?

Hey guys UNIVERSITY and STUDENT both arenot working :(

Code has changed again to KMobileAU.

Interesting to see the ad now shows 15gb.

      • +1 that code works. Thank you.

      • Ad says 30GB for me still

  • If I recharge after the first 30 days, will I get the 30 GB for $20 deal?

    • Update: Customer service confirmed I pay $20 for 30GB from thereon out.

  • Just activated and only have 20gb of data. Anyone else getting the same?

    • Did you activate new number or recharged? If you recharged it only gives 20gb.

      • Activate a new number

        • I ported from Vodafone, only 20GB as well.

      • wait a day or two and you might get the 10GB bonus data added later

        • The 30GB usually shows up for me when I log in right after activating. But logging into the SIM I activated tonight shows 20GB. They've either changed it because these SIMs were cheaper (so they reduced the data), or it's more likely the 30GB for the first month was only a temporary thing due to them dropping the 40GB. i.e. I'm guessing it's going to be 20GB from now on.

      • Can i use this voucher for a recharge? I thought it was only for new customers.

    • Previous SIMs showed 30GB when I logged in. The SIM I activated tonight shows 20GB.

FYI I just talked to a Kogan rep on a call and he said that for those purchased the $0.01c deal, you’ll only get 20GB of data (not 30GB as claimed) as we didn’t activate it via UNIDAYS portal.

    Bummer!

    • It is either $0.01 or 1c, not $0.01c.

How to activate it via UNIDAYS portal?

    • It sounds like the rep is just making stuff up to give people an answer. Since the 40GB disappeared SIMs have been showing 30GB for month #1. But the one I just activated shows 20GB. The one I activated tonight wasn't a $0.01 or $1 student/uni voucher. It was a $2.90 voucher I already had. So all of them must be 20GB now, not just non-unidays ones. (Unless they made another mistake by dropping everyone to 20GB, when they only meant to reduce the discount ones.)

    • I activate one an strange got 40gb.

  • Tried to put the code KMOBILEAU,
No error shown RE: code not working, but the price stays the same :/

    • They keep changing the code.
      Try EDUCATION now :)

  • Tried: KOGANUNI
Result: Sorry, that is not a valid discount code.

    • Worked a few minutes ago. Maybe unidays posted the code before it became active.

  • Doesnt work anymore the new code and its 20gb

    New code: VALENTINE22

  • -2

How is this a great deal? It’s 100x times the price of their previous promo!

  • Doesnt have it for 1 cent anymore :(

    new code: FREESIM22

  • Code RANDCODE
Sorry, that is not a valid discount code.

  • I just bought and voucher is only for new customer but it says valid until 31/12/22

  • Somehow stumbled back to this deal and the amount of code changes……

  • It says it can only be activated by unidays members, Will they care if im not a unidays member?

    • No. Still works.

  • hi, just wondering can I port from amaysim to kogan with this deal? as it's say new customer only (had kogan mobile account).

    • can I port from amaysim to kogan with this deal?

      Yes.

as it's say new customer only (had kogan mobile account).

"New customer" does not mean someone who has never been with Kogan. It means "new account." In other words, if you were with Kogan before, you are still considered "new" as long as any phone number being ported in has not been with Kogan for 30 days (you sign up again on day 31). Alternatively you also qualify as "new" if you accept the phone number/s printed on the packets. Each new phone number on the packets = new account = "new customer."

  • Latest code invalid for me.

    • STUDYMOB

      • Cheers, by the time I got around to ordering it it had changed again to BESTMOB. Got there in the end!

  • Hm… I activated a SIM and it shows 50GB instead of 20. Anyone know why?

    • No but I got it too while a sim card I activated 2 weeks ago only has the advertised 30gb

      • Weird.

      • I got 40gb.

    • I activated one today and has 40 gb lol

      • Sounds like a lottery lol. So you get somewhere between 20GB and 50GB

        • Yeah after SIMS switched to 20GB, I had another 30GB too. When I logged into my modem I found some recent "you have xxGB bonus data" texts. So either there was some kind of bonus data promotion going on that I wasn't aware of, or maybe Kogan is randomly giving out data bonuses.

          • @[Deactivated]: I just activated a $4.90 SIM I purchased May last year and scored 60GB instead of the usual 40GB.

            It's certainly a lottery lol

            • @finbar: I activated a $4.90 SIM yesterday and got 60GB. Checked my account this morning and it changed to 100GB.

              • @jackofspade: LOL hope mine get 100GB.

  • Cheeky bit of tethering coming right up

  • Can't find where to enter the code

    • +1

Do you still have the e-mail? There's a screenshot, showing the section to click on, "I have an email with a voucher code". Click that, enter code.

      • Thanks for the reply. I meant the code "NOLEAP" to get the deal for $1. Cant see where to add it and I have purchased one before no problem.
*Limit 1 per account, that must be it

        • +1

          Sorry. (slaps forehead)

        • +1

Not enough info to know what went wrong here, but you can purchase multiple $1 SIMs. You can only buy one SIM per order though. The code has changed several times too, so another possibility is the ability to enter a code was removed temporarily.

          • @[Deactivated]: "KAUTUMN" just worked for me. I started going through the motions just to see if it seemed like it'd work, and then thought, "Ah, what the heck, it's only another dollar." I removed the free SIM card though; I still have seven in my drawer, including a few that are quite old but haven't been expired-off yet.

          • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the info. I just clicked through and the the option to apply the new code is back again for me. Just purchased one, cheers :-)

  • invalid code now

    • Please try 3THREE22

It need to be 1 cent again

    • Not this year. It seems once a year. 1 cent deal in 2021

        So not in 2022 anymore?

it happened like 8 months after that TA's deal post

        • +1

Wait till Black Friday then. When Kogan hungers for new customers (to buy its stuff later), it runs this kind of deal. 1c/$1 Mobile deal is obviously a loss leader.

  • HI, does anyone only got 20GB data once activated? I called Kogan and they said the extra 10GB is only for people who buy the SIM card via the Unidays account. I am very confused now as some of you said extra 10GB will come through next day which I did not have. Please help me.

    • Seems to be a lottery. People are getting different amounts. Anywhere from 20GB to 50GB. $1 for 20GB still good value. Just buy another SIM if you want more data.

  • Activated last night, got today the message, extra 20gb data included.
    So 40gb.
    Not bad for a dollar

  • Can't seem to get this one working. Is anyone aware of a new code?

  • Um, is this a way of buying Sims you can that can receive text messages for straight away for to verify your mobile number? Would I need to activate the Sim with the voucher?

    • It's difficult to understand your exact question due to typos, but I think you mean:

      1) "Can I receive texts on these SIMs without activating them first?"

If that's what you meant then the answer is no. The SIMs are unactivated "blanks" you can either port an existing number to Kogan, or you can choose to activate the number printed on the packets… so the SIMs aren't linked to any specific number until you activate and decide which of those phone numbers goes with what SIM.

      2) And you can activate any blank SIM Kogan mails out to you, or that you obtain from a petrol station etc (even old blank SIMs you've had lying around for months)… by entering any of the voucher codes you receive from Kogan via email after purchase. i.e. You don't have to wait for the SIM to arrive in the mail to redeem the voucher code they email to you shortly after purchase. You can redeem the code immediately if you already have a blank SIM. This is why most people keep a spare/s, buy a code, redeem that code with a SIM they already have on hand, then keep the SIM Kogan mails out to use with the next code they buy.

  • After purchasing this product, you will be sent a unique Kogan Mobile voucher by email within 24 hours

Just bought. Will I have to wait long for the email?

Already have an old Kogan SIM kit.

    • It says it’s for new customers, not too sure if you can use an old Kogan sim kit

      • Received it after 20 minutes. It is an old kit but was never used. Working fine now.

Lovely my NBN sorted till November

    • So it's all good then to use as recharges or to keep activating a new one each month?

PS it's not exactly NBN, as that's different infrastructure.

  • THanks Op. Paid with Kogan credit of $2.5 and I still have $1.50 left hahaha.

  • PREPAIDKM is not working anymore. :(

  • hi, is anyone getting 20Gb (instead of 30Gb) when activating?
