                    • @Sfh1975: fair enough. Would that potentially make Ryobi a Bunnings home brand then? Bunnings has exclusive rights to sell Ryobi tools.

Actually, does Bunnings even own Ozito? It looks like Ozito UK is owned by Einhell. https://www.einhell.co.uk/en-uk/services/ozito-uk.html I don't know about Ozito AU though. Look slike Ozito AU came into existence first.

I'm not sure about your point in regards to Ozito 'copying' Ryobi. Do you think Ozito/bunnings has that much sway in telling Einhell to make something to directly compete with a ryobi variant. I mean, I guess at the end of the day, all tool companies would 'copy' a certain tool or come up with their own that has the same function…

Anyway, this is all for interests sake haha

                      • @bleemo: Kogan did a copy of the Ozito bladed trimmer. Double bladed from memory, but the Ozito one works better. Different jolly (Certa) batteries too, that are not interchangeable. Still we use the old Kogan blower and hedger with the Certa batteries. I prefer the Ozito ones though.

@Thor Bargain God: Yeah, Bunnings have a ton of the 36V range. Anything that's 2x18V. Much better than Ryobi IMO as it's all the same battery system, so you can run 36V tools like mower, line trimmer etc with the same batteries as drills, lights, etc.

This deal is for a 36V kit. They're all really quite powerful. The hedge trimmer smashes through relatively thick Poinciana branches.

        • Same tldr hehe

      • How do you know Greenworks is a good brand? I rarely hear about them.

        • If you watch enough YouTube comparison videos from the States you will get to know them. There are actually all sorts of brands over there that are better and comparatively cheaper than the stuff Bunnings stocks that you will never see here. All seems to be favourable re Greenworks, particularly the 80V battery. Most other brands are nowhere near having anything as powerful. Costco has some Greenworks stuff from time to time. Also some retail mower shops here and there rarely stock one or two of their products. Ego's just got the distribution going here in Australia and there aren't many competitors in the premium range. The line auto-load feature was what set the Ego line trimmer apart for me though.

          • @Thor Bargain God: Thanks looks like Greenworks will introduce new products to Australia this year, hopefully they will set up wide enough retail channels.

I have only good things to say about the 18v xchange series. Yes it maxes out at 36v but for average joe like me who lives in a rental property with a smallish yard, this is enough. Eco is a premium brand at least here downunder and you get what you pay for. Not sure if pros use it but its for large to very large properties and overkill for us mere mortals who live on a say a 400m2 or smaller block.

        • I agree. Bigger block = bigger problems. I used to have a smaller, less complicated garden, so appreciate that this might do the trick for many. I just thought that the price point for an Ego line trimmer or brush cutter wasn't too far away and they might last longer. For me, I hope for the power of petrol in an electric tool, otherwise I start looking at petrol tools all over again. It is primarily the better battery that adds the additional cost. A lot of people might also have a lot of paving, fake grass, compacted rocks etc. these days, so they might only have a couple of bushes to trim from time to time. Horses for courses.

      • I spent big on the Ego gear when it was on clearance at masters in 2015/2016.

Still have the line trimmer, blower, chainsaw, edger and hedge trimmer. All still working flawlessly on the original 2.0AH battery 6 years later and could not imagine going back to petrol for these tools. However I also had the Mower with 4.0ah battery which I ended up selling as it just couldn't keep up with 400sqm+ of lawn and always choked on uneven spongy sections where my petrol mower just powers through.

        • You could always give the latest 52cm mower a go with 7.5aH battery. It seems a lot dearer that their other products though. I checked that it was supposed to match a decent petrol before buying with the 30 day return policy. After giving it a go, I'd probably say that it would beat a lot of petrol mowers. I do see the odd blade of grass occasionally that I go over again, but it cuts around 99% well. Thanks for the info regarding Masters. It crossed my mind that there were probably some lucky people out there that took major advantage on products like this. Well bargained!

  • 2 batteries with 2 chargers? ?_?

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

You actually need both batteries at the same time to power this tool. The 2nd battery isn't a spare hence it makes sense to provide 2 chargers.

  • OP you want to post the kit next to it which is a very deal and a rare find.

    • Indeed.

How accurate are store stock levels on the website though?

    • Any idea what kit that is?

  • Maybe a run out item as description, part number and SKU come up blank on both retail and trade sites:

Ozito PXC 2x 18V Brushless 4-in-1 Multi Tool Kit
    PXGMTK-4182
    0296586

    • If you check Ozito website, they put this one as "Promotional Product", which means that is it not always stocked.

  • any ozito lawn mower deal?

    • +1

The 2x18v steel deck kit is still at Highpoint store for $399.

      • cant see any stock in 100km radius from me.

  • Has anyone had issues with brush cutter? Mine seems to undo the pole lock in less than a minute.

  • Hi. Does anyone know whether there is any stock in QLD close to Brisbane? Happy to travel to Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. Thanks in advance.

  • I thought to switch my 2x18v ozito line trimmer to this kit, due to it’s brushless and has other handy attachments, but apparently the trimmer from this kit is very heavy, very noisy and too bulky compared to 2x18v non-brushless, due to the motor has to be in the handle, and there is drive shaft in the pole.
Therefore, this kit is not worth it if you need a line trimmer and occasionally pole attachments, but the other way around - good as pole tools and occasionally line trimmer.

  • Has anyone seen one in stock at their local recently and can mention the store? Can't seem to find one in NSW and would ask if it could be shipped.

  • The petrol version of this with a 50cc engine is only $179 at bunnings right now. Comes with a harness, is heavy but for this stuff I found the (admittedly Ryobi version) battery version weak.
