Been waiting for this deal to come back or equivalent, but looks like it'll be never

Been considering this one since to wash the car

Didnt know the 1000W existed
Would 1000W be enough to wash the car?

Been considering this one to wash the car

That's what I use. Works a treat paired with the Autoglym polar blaster.

Thanks, I’ve been considering that one, but wasn’t sure it would be powerful enough.

1160psi seems way under powered, pretty sure you can get close to that using a special hose attachment but my memory is hopeless so I could be wrong.

      • from what i researched last time it seemed ~2000w//psi was the sweet spot/upper end for cars

      • -1

        Agreed.

        1160psi is USELESS!
The maximum flow rate of 5 l/m says it all
I dont know how they can get away with calling it a" high pressure" washer
I probably get that cleaning power from my garden hose using a decent spray nozzle

And furthermore $69 is the everyday price so its not a "DEAL" at all!

I'd say many buyers will be disappointed with this one.
But if you have nothing to compare with you probably wouldnt know.

The better brands and performers start at 1800psi to 2000psi.

Id recommend spending the extra few bucks and "investing" in this 2030psi model for onloy $99
        https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1800w-2030psi-high-pressur…

It has much better 7 l/m flow rate
        Its very highly rated
And the Ryobi equivalent is $269!

Hence to me the Ozito 2030psi model @ $99 is the REAL BARGAIN!

        • +1

          The ONLOY bargain 🙃

    • -1

Dragging this unit plus its power cord around the car while washing is much more cumbersome for me that a long enough garden hose will more than suffice instead. 👍

      • Good to know your specific circumstances.

      • +1

Haha, while I agree with your sentiment.
A decent pressure washer makes a big difference in time and effort washing your car.
You can probably do just as good a job with a couple of buckets and a garden hose but it’ll take a lot longer and much more elbow grease.
$99 for 2030psi is well worth it I think but each to their own ;)

        • You can probably do just as good a job with a couple of buckets and a garden hose

What? Are you probably literally saying that you never used this tried and trusted method of implementing the service of the more versatile garden hose? Also anyone here heard of the rinseless wash? It's magical, I tell ya.

        • Considering 1160psi is half the power, then $69 is a total waste of money!

        • -1

Pressure washers should not be used for washing cars!

That is not their intended purpose.
Thats what the garden hose is for.

Pressure washers with thier long arm and nozzle are more for removing dried mud and debris from 4WD vehicles.after they have been off road.

      • Agreed! I live in a single garage house and not having enough space in the driveway to properly use a pressure washer. So I just use a garden hose to clean my car that only drives around the city.

    • Those who can wait: aluminium pump, higher pressure & Gerni brand, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/880043

  • Thank you, got the 2030 version for cleaning up pavements, hopefully faster work than a Karcher k2

    • Have you considered this patio cleaner attachment?

I am, but concerned if the extra wide coverage would mean ineffective cleaning performance

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pressure-washer-patio-clea…

Might just get it and find out actually…thanks for going through my thought process with me lol

      • The reviews suggest it works for decks and light dirt but the rest suggest it's not powerful enough (pressure is split across four outlets).

        • yeah I saw that. I'm still thinking multiple rounds with this on the driveway would be a ton easier than using the standard lance, I don't have the patience for that.

I realise I'd be sacrificing quality for quantity

Worst case scenario I just use it on the rear deck once in a while….or just get rid of it let's see

          • +1

@andresampras: I have the 1800W version plus the patio cleaner, and it works fine for a clean. Cleaned a white concrete balcony that I'm pretty sure hadnt been cleaned for 30 years, other than a few very dirt embedded areas. But for anything normally dirty and not baked on dirt it will be totally fine.

Not sure with the smaller cleaner though.

            • @dtc: great thanks I've recently bought the 2030 cleaner (inspired by the gerni deal)

will pick up this patio cleaner attachment

      • Most patio cleaners are a bit of a joke.
They usually throw them in for 'marketing" purposes to justify the extra cost or becaue thier competitor is doing that.
Ive never seen anyone rave about any patio cleaner.
You get faster and better results using a "wide spray" nozzle

    • Perfect!

Pls report back here with your opinion of performance and results

  • +3

I/N: 0620787 for anyone thats gets the Bunnings 404.

  • 7L per min flow rate is pitiful

    • +5

on the other hand a low flow rate might be desired

      • Low flow?!

      • psi and flow rate and inter-related.

Low psi = low flow rate = lousy performance.

If you want that then just use your garden hose

        • The the PSI is listed at x at n flow rate, and another one is listed as x at n+10, I know which one I would be taking

    • What is a good flow rate?

      • +2

The more the better. More flow = more productivity

        • -1

More flow = more water wastage too?

          • +2

@wibgyor: Yeah, but you spend last time which mean less wastage too

        • psi and flow rate and inter-related.

Low psi = low flow rate = lousy performance.

If you want that then just use your garden hose

High psi = high flow rate = high performance = better and faster job done = less wastage of both time and water

          Its simple physics

The more psi, the more water you push out per minute.

          • @HeWhoKnows: sorry, but you are incorrect. Flow and pressure are unrelated. you could have 5000 PSI but only 1 l/min or 50 l/min at 10 psi

            Pressure = Penetration
            Flow = Productivity

            • -1

              @jackwoz: I beg to differ.

FACT: When it comes to pressure washers a higher psi is nearly always accompanied with higher flow rate. And visa versa. As I said, its simple physics.
A higher psi means you are pushing more water out and at a faster rate.
              Hence higher flow rate.
Pls check the ratings of the various models and you will see for yourself.

Alternatively Pls give examples of pressure washers to illustrate what you say.
              Id say there are NONE!
              Particularly this one…
you could have 5000 PSI but only 1 l/min or 50 l/min at 10 psi
              But my guest…..

PS Even a garden hose doesnt push out 50L/min at 10 psi

              • @HeWhoKnows: I get your point, but you are assuming the nozzle size stays the same. Pressure is decided from the nozzle size. The bigger the nozzle the less pressure you get for a given flow, and the smaller the nozzle the higher pressure you get.

My point is you can have high pressure at a low flow rate and vica versa which is decided upon the nozzle size (and maximum pressure capability of the pump).

    • Agree. These get sold and end up as landfill.

    • Excuse me but that comment is rather unqualified.
You obviously have not done your research or own a pressure washer

5l/m is pittyful for the suggested "deal" modle which is not actually a deal.

7 l/m is the standard rate for a decent pressure washer.
Its rare to see anything higher in an electric pressure washer

  • What's a good one to wash pavement and white walls (external house)?

    • -6

      This one will be fine

    • +2

Walls yes, paving probably not unless the area is small (courtyard) and not particularly dirty.

Edit: Go as big as you afford thou. i have a much larger one than this and to do a a driveway is still time consuming. i.e. i wouldn't want anything less than what i have.

    • +2

To wash pavement you need the 1800w version. Even that i find it slightly underpowered so this one wouldnt do a great job.

      • No you need one with 5 times the flow. Pressure means nothing without flow. Zero water saving when the job takes 10 times as long as a a quality unit.

        • Here’s a $5k professional Karcher that only has double the flow rate. Where are you finding 5x?

          https://www.kaercher.com/au/professional/high-pressure-clean…

          • +1

@ozbfilter: My old solid brass internals gerni. I font think they can afford to make them like that anymore. Even my newer kincrome 2800psi unit is pretty average in comparison at 8 lpm its good for decking though. . Its probably good for 3 inches of high quality cleaning per sweep of an area. A driveway still takes hours. You're better off hiring one if you have a large area to clean.

          • @ozbfilter: Karcher would be the only one with real figures.

        • No you need one with 5 times the flow

          So 35 litres per minute?

From a garden tap that can only provide around 15 litres per minute

          • @spaceflight:

From a garden tap that can only provide around 15 litres per minute

My garden tap can fill a 10 litre bucket in seconds.

I have no idea what it's flow rate is, but it's way way more than 15 litres per minute.

    • @dj007

What's a good one to wash pavement and white walls (external house)?

The Ozito 2030psi model which everyone is recommending for only $99

The equivalent Ryobi model (which I own) sells for $269 !!!

So $99 is a REAL bargain

  • Wonder why the Ozito 2030psi version washer is not available anymore according to the bunnings site sad face

Dis one? Still showing in stock for me (Sydney)

      • +1

Error 404 Sorry, page not found!

        • Wahhh works fine for me computer and mobile

        • +1

Change your store location, but pay attention to the state

It's stuffed though so you can't get delivery or stock in state if it already 404s

(Try ryobi grass shears with caddy kit in VIC vs other states)

    • It has happened a few times that bunnings removed the 2030psi version from their website and added back later . I don't know why…

      • +1

They bring it out when Aldi have their model on the special buys.

    • Shows $99, available in Brisbane

      • +1

cheers.. must be a WA thing

        • Shows in stock in my country store…maybe out of stock in your closest?

  • +3

    $69. Nice.

If only it was April 20th then all the kids would be giggling!

      • What’s funny about Hitlers birthday?

        • 4/20

Also. You said Hitler. You know what they say, if you bring that Austrian up, you've already lost the argument.

    • -1

      You mean $69 RUBBISH!

  • +2

This should be fine for washing the car and snow foaming. Good price, provided it's not landfill in a few years..

Anything else it will probably struggle to clean with 1000psi

You really need 2000+ to clean decks etc, esp when using the deck/patio pressure cleaners etc.

  • Is this a sale price? Noticed Bunnings don't usually have a sale tag on them?

    What's the normal rpp

  • Is the 2030PSI one going to be too strong to use on a car?

Or is it a case of just using a lower pressure but still getting the more powerful one?

    • +2

The more powerful one will be more effective for other uses than washing the car. Use a lower pressure by adjusting the nozzle or stand back further.

'The adjustable spray nozzle provides the user with the selectable spray pattern, rotate for a high-pressure stream for dirt blasting to a flat fan spray for a wider spray area.'

    • +3

The 2030 PSI is not too strong for a car wash provided that the fan wand is being used. The dirt blaster is not suitable for car washing.

  • +1

This does a fairly decent job. Took me a while to do my pathway with it, but then again there was 5 years of uncleaned build up on it.

I'm sure if I clean once every 6mths to a year it will breeze through it all. Overall, was pretty happy with how it performed.

    • In the same boat the slippery driveway and pool area are killing me. Did you use any chemicals or just water?

      • +4

For safety reasons I'd recommend getting out of the boat first.

        • Yes, sir! 😏😎😂

        • Before you criticise them, walk a mile in their shoes!

'cos then you'll be a mile away, and they'll have no shoes.

      • +1

        Just water

      • Get a proper path cleaning attachment for your driveway

  • Maybe can save on chemicals as the 2k psi would be strong enough?

  • Does anyone know if this is strong enough to wash a deck before oiling it?

    • What do you mean by 'wash'? If you mean 'get rid of years of embedded dirt and mould and old stain' it will take a long time and probably damage the wood. And you will get frustrated before you finish; so I guess 'no, its not suitable'.

If the deck is old and has a lot of dirt, you want to clean off old stain etc, you are better off sanding it if you can (the hire sanders from Bunnings are totally fine, although you need a bit of physical strength to use them) or renting a more high powered pressure washer and being careful. Apart from the strength issue, sanding is a pretty easy low skill job and you wont mess up your deck (unless its very soft wood like pine; but if its merbau or some other hardwood then you are all good). Then use this pressure washer to clean up the deck after the sanding is completed

If you mean 'clean up some dust and bird droppings on an otherwise pretty good condition deck' then this pressure washer is fine. Give it a wash with Napisan (or deck cleaner, but same active ingredient - sodium percarbonate and Napisan is cheaper)

      • Useful advise, thanks! Do you wash it with napisan before pressure washing? Or do you pressure wash then scrub the deck with napisan then pressure wash again?

        • I wash/scrub with a broom first then pressure wash off whatever is left. The Napisan just helps loosen the dirt (as a 'soap') and also the sodium percarbonate is a brightener, so tarts up the wood a bit. However nothing wrong with repeating it if needed (scrub, wash, scrub, wash). However, as said, I prefer sanding if the deck is old (should have also said sanding is noisy!); I only use the washing/pressure wash to clean up the deck for an annual oiling.

  • thanks

  • My mother bought one of these. DOA. Staff at Bunnings said it's common with them. Replacement DOA also. Wound up buying a Karcher.

    • Yeah my gut feeling is to avoid ozito for many things.. The saving is not worth the headache I seem to find.

      • I have a garage full of Ozito tools and the only one that has broken was the electric lawnmower, which died after 4.5 years and they gave me a new one (upgraded model)

        • so you can vouch for the rest of the ozito range minus this pressure washer?

          • @AlienC: New model after 4.5 yrs is pretty decent.

          • @AlienC: I have this pressure washer as well (the 1800w version)

  • -2

TIL: Ozito is considered a decent brand

  • Apart from cleaning the car wheel and also the pavement, what else can you use this for?

    • you need at least 1800 psi, 2000 psi is ideal

  • At least this model doesn't bother with the wind-up reel for the high pressure hose. Takes longer to sort out kinks, avoid jams and get an even wind than it does to just coil up the hose by hand and hang it on a hook.

  • anything less than 1800 PSI is useless with all price.

  • I am unsure about this model but I got the 2030 version. I have an adaptor to fit a standard hose on it ( 50 ft ) and just use standard 1/4 inch gun and accessories with it. Not sure if I can link but it is an "M22 15mm Quick Connect, 3/8 in Pressure Washer Hose Adapter for High Pressure Washer Hose".

The hose I have is a 50ft flexzilla kink free hose but there are a few long kink free hoses you can get. I already had the hose and fittings for a different pressure washer but I find it makes things a lot easier and less frustrating for me.
