  • I've long been intrigued in getting a pressure washer, mainly to clean the patio and for car wash.

Does it come with all the attachments to carry out those tasks?

    • +3

Depends if you want the specific attachments to do those. It doesn't came with the Patio Cleaner or the Snow Foam attachment.

I have both. Patio cleaner for the driveway which is okay. Snow Foam attachment is great.

      • +3

As an extra, you can mix and match brands with attachments for added flexibility. I have an older version of this snow foam attachment: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/bowdens-own-bowdens-own-…
Which is miles better than the Gerni branded one.

(Sorry, don't know how to keep the text clean like geekcohen)

          [Name link](w w w . website in brackets . com . au)

        • You need an adapter for those as the wands connector is recessed. I have the gerni 5000 and the foam cannon which came with it is pretty bad.

Ended up buying a cheap $15 Foam Cannon from AliExpress which works great and $25 Quick release attachment from MD Car Care

          • @PD125: Strange. I didn't need any extra attachments.

            • @Schmatt: I ended up needing an adapter for connecting my Karcher Petrol Washer to the BO Snow foam cannon.

            • @Schmatt: Do you have the 5000 as well? may be the wands between the models are different. I went back and tried it without the attachment and it couldn't fit it in.

              • @PD125: No I have classic 125.5. I assumed all would have the same fittings 🤔

    • +4

doesn't have those attachments, need to look at this or other higher models

    • +1

We got a 1400W one for like $50 and while it is fine, it takes a LONG time to clean the concrete out the front, as to get enough pressure to be effective you need a very very small spray, so its like trying to clean the entire front patio with an eraser.

    • in short yes. but also depends what are the products you use for car wash.

    • that would be the gerni 4000

  • soft wash > high pressure

    • -2

      Yes according to ChatGPT
Yes, soft washing is generally better than high-pressure washing for cars. Here’s why:

      • Gentler on Paint: High-pressure washing can strip paint, damage clear coats, or even dent panels, especially if not done carefully. Soft washing, with low pressure, protects the car’s exterior.
      • More Effective Cleaning: Soft washing typically uses specialized cleaning solutions that loosen dirt, grime, and grease, making it easier to rinse off without scrubbing or risking scratches.
      • Safe for Delicate Areas: High pressure can damage sensitive areas like seals, badges, or trim. Soft washing is much safer for these components.

Overall, soft washing is the safer, more efficient choice for maintaining your car’s appearance and longevity.

      • +3

Its also better on concrete and other hard surfaces as the "dirt and grime" is usually mould and other organisms - stained by the dirt and grime, high pressure cleaning just makes the pores bigger and makes the problem worse next time.

try soft washing a mouldy brick wall with a 1/4 pool chlorine and CT18 truck wash solution in a garden sprayer and you will be amazed at how little effort you need to make it look brand new again. Hose it down with regular pressure hose

        • What would you use for a brick and tile driveway? The next to a little garden bed so any chemicals would get onto it and possibly kill everything

          • @furyou: Just start with a weak solution of pool chlorine and wet the garden before and after too

            • @tezza: How much chlorine are we talking for say 10m2?

  • How does Gerni's model numbering works?
Comparing the 3600 and 3100, thinking that it is just one with more accessory, but the 3100 have more power and more watt.

  • +2

Interesting, the Ozito $99 pressure washer has been taken off the Bunnings website, and this product seems to be brand new (not even on the Gerni website). I was going to compare the two, but perhaps there's no point now.

    • why is there no point now?
I am thinking between the them too.

      • +1

Well, the other one is no longer on the Bunnings website. So unless it's temporary, then there's only one option at this price point going forward.

        • Yeah looks like out of stock all over the place. Bought one last week thankfully.

          • @Hardicus: Recommended?

            • @Ez: Seems OK for a hundo. Never owned one before so hard to say if it's good in general, but I've used it to wash my car and seems all good. Pressure isn't variable was one thing I didn't realise until I bought it, but it's fine for my purposes.

              • @Hardicus: Thanks heaps, went ozitto

        • +1

Looks to be in stock at my local. Wonder which is better now

    • Was about to ask for a comparison to that one, I remember people saying it was great for the price + good compared to more expensive models. I guess this is their new entry level pressure washer?

    • Deciding between these two as well, missed the earlier 149 ozito model…
Looks similar at the same price point
The only difference I can see is the hose length 5m for ozito vs 6m for gerni
      Anything else?

    • Gerni is a much better brand than Ozito imho.

      • +1

        Ozito bought the Gerni brand.

      • Probably easier to find replacement part with Gerni

  • ? Does it have 3 or 5 year warranty.

  • higher PSI and Power?

  • what was the original price? i cant find it online

    • +1

Looks like a promo item, not on Bunnings or gerni website

    • +1

great for washing the car & cleaning concrete, one attachment for everyday use other for heavy duty ,you''ll notice the difference when you play around with it

Fixed Fan Spray Nozzle offers a 15° fan-shaped spray, perfect for everyday general cleaning tasks

The Compact Jet Spray Nozzle delivers a high-impact rotating jet that covers a larger surface area, making it up to 50% more efficient in removing ingrained dirt and grime

  • Does it not come with a hose from the machine to the gun?

I also wonder whether the flow rate is also similar to the Gerni 3600

    • +1

It does - the manual shows the components in the documents section.

  • I was gonna hire someone to clean a small area (2mx5m) that was flooded last year, the pavers have stuff growing on them. This should work out to be cheaper if I don’t break my back?

    • +3

I've also got pavers with algae that I need to clean.

Based on my reddit research, mist the area with a mixture of pool chlorine + water (or napisan), let it sit for 15-20mins, then hose down.

      cleaning tips

      • +1 for old reddit :)

Looks like you soak it with chemicals first then pressure wash. Would need to research on the impact on the soil though. Wouldn’t want to kill my plant babies.

  • +1

can we get the karcher quick connect adapters from ali and use them with this?

    • My 25 year old Karcher 350M had its cord damaged on the weekend, so I'm very interested in adapters too. I don't even know what to look for on AliExpress, don't know what I'm looking at.

Wondering if it's worth trying to repair the Karcher cord, or buy this Gerni instead. Seems a shame to toss all the perfectly good accessories I already own. The older accessories seem to be far better quality than newer Karcher models. People regularly dump broken newer ones in local council cleanups and the quality is junk in comparison.

My Karcher 350M quotes 400L/h (6.66L/m) and 110 bar (1,600psi or 11MPa) so on paper this Gerni has a slightly lower Rated Pressure and Rated Flow Rate but slightly higher Maximums.

We've been using the Karcher twice a year for the past 25 years to clean out tree roots from pipes and regularly use it for ~30 minutes at a time without issue, but I don't know if this Gerni would handle that abuse. I borrowed a couple of small Karcher units that overheated if used for more than 10 minutes at a time which is hopeless.

      • they are called “Quick Connect adapters” you can search for karcher quick connect adapters.

  • 5 of these or 1 Active 2.0?

  • What’s the RRP/normal selling price?

This or Bosch's Pressure Washer for $111?

Wondering if the compact size of the Bosch makes up for the slightly weaker pressure and extra $12

    • no, gerni will be much more powerful

  • +4

For anybody wondering, ignore the max pressure and look at the flow rates.

You would want at least 6.5LPM for it to be a reasonable product.

I have had this one for a number of years and its been great.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130817500244?_skw=pressure+washe…

    • it's 7.5lpm

      • +2

At max - you want the nominal rate which i think this model is about 5.

        • +1

you are looking to far into it, this is more than good enough for basic use washing car or concrete, i have stanley with slightly less specs & its powerful enough, wouldn't pay $200 but for $99 more than fine

          • +5

@RogueWolf: I would disagree that i am looking to far into it. This is what lets you know how well it cleans, and thats the primary purpose of the product.

By all means buy what you want, just trying to educate anybody who is unsure if this is suitable.

  • Why is it showing $999.99 for me?

    • +2

      Strabismus?

    • Indian hackers. 😋😅
They'll send an uber driver to collect the balance that you owe them.

India is struggling with lots of young people with no jobs. So they resort to doing illegal crap like this.

  • Pretty sure this is the same as the Ozito in a Gerni skin. Same power & pressure but the manual has the Gerni at rated flow of 5.6L/min while Ozito is 6L/min. Ozito owns the Gerni brand.

  • +1

This is a bargain for some basic cleaning like washing the car, windows etc

  • +2

Is this having a metal pump?

    • +2

Yes. Mentioned on the box., Al pump

  • Is this good enough for foam canon car washing? That’s all I would be using it for.

    • It should be plenty powerful for that usage, keep in mind the Gerni branded foam cannons don't receive very good reviews. Lots of online reviews suggest the Gerni pressure washers work great with third-party foam cannons but the ones included with other models aren't great.

Maybe you should try to score one of the ALDI Special Buy pressure washers on sale tomorrow for $99.99 which come with a foam sprayer and more accessories.

Get both and if the ALDI one works well for you, keep it and return this one. ALDI accept open-box change-of-mind returns for 60 days but Bunnings seem to only accept change-of-mind returns for unopened (or faulty, misrepresented etc) items.

    RATED FLOW: 5.6L/min
    MAX. FLOW RATE: 7.5L/min

Why 2 numbers, and which should I use?

    • I asked MetaAI which tells me:

      <MetaAI>
      Rated Flow Rate:
The rated flow rate, usually measured in liters per minute (L/min), is the amount of water a pressure washer can handle continuously without overheating or damaging the pump. This is the recommended flow rate for regular use.

      Maximum Flow Rate:
The maximum flow rate, also measured in L/min, is the highest amount of water a pressure washer can handle for short periods. Exceeding this rate can lead to pump damage, overheating, or reduced performance.

      Key differences:
      - Rated flow is for continuous use, while maximum flow is for short-term, high-demand situations.
      - Exceeding the rated flow can lead to pump damage, while exceeding the maximum flow can cause catastrophic failure.
      - Manufacturers often recommend staying within 80-90% of the rated flow for optimal performance and longevity.
      <end MetaAI>

This explanation is meaningless when the product doesn't mention the flow rate of each included accessory, rated duty cycle of the pump, and with only an on/off trigger for the nozzle so no way to manually limit flow. It would be nice if the manual mentioned e.g. only use the spray nozzle for 5 minute periods with a 5 minute cool-down, use the form sprayer for 10 minutes with a 10 minute cool-down etc.

Can anybody else chime in with more useful information?

  • Thanks op bought this for car washing. Can someone please recommend a snow foam canon which is compatible with this washer?

    • Costco has one on special at the moment.

      • Link? Also looking for a decent snow foam canon for this

    • Just get Bowden snow canon
