  • Is the garden blower good?

    • +17

      well, it doesn't suck

    • Not according to me and some of the reviewers. Returned mine and got this aeg instead difference is night and day. The ozito is fine if you aren't in a hurry.

      • +4

The ozito works good with a 4ah or higher battery. It’s prettty poor with the 2 or 2.5 battery

          What?
How does battery capacity make the blow any harder???

I have this and the 2.5 and 4 batts blow the same, as expected. Ah does not equal power.

A 2.5 is preferrable as it's lighter & more manouverable.

          • +4

@BBF: Ozito is rebadged Einhell. Einhell rates the 2.5 Ah at 720W max output and the 4.0Ah at 900W (and the 8 Ah at a whopping 1350W). The simple explanation is that the 2.5 Ah has 5 lithium ion cells in series, while the 4.0 Ah has ten slightly smaller cells arranged as two sets of 5 in parallel, which means you have two slightly smaller ‘lanes’ pushing out electrons instead of a single lane.

You will only notice a difference if the tool can draw more than (or close to) the maximum of the 2.5Ah battery, though the difference will become larger as the battery runs out.

@choofa: Stop blowing smoke up my **** you make no sense! The internet is full of jokers and w**kers,
I have this blower and these two batteries and can say with CERTAINTY that they both blow the SAME.
My advanced physics degree agrees with the science and emprical evidence. .

@choofa: Oh you foolish child. I feel sorry for your generation,
Capacity does NOT equal power. It's just how much energy is stored.
You are sadly part of the google generation of …. the less ….. I'm trying not to be rude….. sheep.

    • I had a high powered but bulky blower vac that I didn't use anywhere near enough, but, when I got this I end up using it almost daily. It's a great product

      • what are you doing where you need a blower daily?

        • +7

I have a tree over my driveway on the council strip that is my enemy

    • +2

I use it all the time - I have never used any other brands to compare it with, but it does the job I need of it fine (with a 4ah battery).

      • +1

Dumb question, but is the 4ah actually more powerful, or just lasts longer. Could you just swap a 2.5ah with another when it's running low?

        • +2

It makes a huge power difference across several tools. The whipper snipper is night and day with 2.5ah v 4ah. I don't remember the last time I even used a 2 tbh.

Dumb question, but is the 4ah actually more powerful, or just lasts longer.

It's not a dumb question at all, as most people don't really know what's going on here. Technically it just lasts longer, but Li-Ion discharge curve is weird. It drops from ~4.5V to ~3.75V relatively quickly (at around 80% capacity) and stays at that voltage until 25-30% (see here: https://siliconlightworks.com/li-ion-voltage). So having a higher capacity battery lets you stay at higher voltages for longer.

Also 4Ah and higher batteries have 2 rows of cells, connected in parallel, so they are able to provide a higher current. This may not be relevant if the tool doesn't use the extra current, though.

      • Yeah lots of bad reviews but I've never had an issue. It does the job.

    • +1

Can't speak for this particular one but i have the big (profanity) off PXC cannon looking one and with 2 4ah in it my cavoodle doesn't stand a chance.

It's got quite a bit of balls, worth the money.

It actually is good, and the right size for some things. I use it to blow all the leaves off the gutters and it's thin enough to get in between the gutters and roof tiles (where it sags). Awesome little thing.

    • Ehhhh. Its not that bad. I have it and use it on my flat, concrete driveway. Its good enough for blowing grass clippings and tan bark around. Ive been using it a couple years and havent felt the need to upgrade. I wouldnt want to try and blow a pile of leaves with it though.

  • yes, blower is fantastic

then again i rate the whipper snipper as well

    it's all in the wrist

  • +11

    what a weird combo

    • +6

      Drill then blow

      • +3

hmmmm..i thought should be the other way round.

        • +1

Depends which part of Australia you are

        • Always blow at the end ;) ;)

  • +1

That's a good kit for someone that needs these, both are no regrets products to own and will get used a lot

  • That 10mm drill is dreadful. But I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Pass! I've had both and returned. Drill is a toy. Blower might be okay for dusting out your shed but not much else.

    The brushless equivalents are great.

  • This is an odd combination from Ozito, this blower is normal paired with another garden power tool like a lawn trimmer

  • Screwing and blowing?? This isn't the 14th of February!

  • Plenty in stock in Tuggerah.

  • +1

Bought this and the drill is good for basic DIY, the blower seems to work quite well for light grass after I used my trimmer so actually worked out quite well.
