  • not bad for diy plug choppers

    • $4 for another plug and $5 for another socket and make 2x15m ?
not sure if there is value chopping unless turning into 10a plug and 15a socket lead …..for those in try to get a 15 amp lean and swap plug.

  • How will these do for my gpu mining rigs?? 24/7 constant load at 1800 watts?

    • Why are they 30m from power socket?

That's how far away the neighbours house is.

    • thought people would want them for grow lamps in the rental more than to run computers …

doesn’t mention the critical part …..copper thickness are they 1mm2 or 1.5mm2 ….. if it’s just 1mm2 then it’s just in the same league as those bunnings $17.99 leads. should be 1.5mm2 for 15amp but it not specified.

I picked one up - it says on the tag "30 mtr 1.5mm HD cable with 10amp HD plugs". Seems fairly sturdy.

      • thks, might grab a couple

These are great. I can now use my toaster in my inflatable pool.

  • Can someone explain the benefit of the lead having a higher current capacity than the plug? Are people chopping the plugs off and making 15A extension leads? Or is it just peace of mind knowing the full 10A load wouldn’t come close to heating it up?

    • Less voltage drop over a lead this long would be the main benefit I imagine.
They tend to also be much sturdier in general, less likely to knot up etc but that can be achieved with thicker insulation too.
