@jv: Probably earning a small fortune on weekends? Oh, oops, that’s the fake news you posted then ran away from when called out.

Which international relationship would you like him to forgo? The same one you’ll criticise him for not improving?

                                        Hardly a holiday.

Your fuel bar code identifies you!

For those that appear to get banned or locked out, the bar code of the voucher identifies your account by the last 3 digits!
Change account and the bar code changes. Perhaps that is how it is easy to track who flew too fast/too soon?

    • +11

of course the barcode identifies you… it is specific to your account.

    • people know the barcode is unique to their account. they're trying to figure out what they did to get banned

  • My partner just tried to fill up this morning and was told that the fuel she was trying to pay for didn't match what was locked in. It was locked in as Special Unleaded, and that's what she was filling up with, but the lady said that it was locked in as "91", which is what the Special Unleaded is anyway, but wouldn't honour it.

Has anyone had anything like this happen to them before, or is this some dodgy way to not honour the fuel lock because the discount was a decent amount?

    • Incompetent staff?

Unfortunately, might need to just shrug it off
One thing to NOT do is complain to head office and ask for the discount back!

Perhaps next time show them this
      https://www.7eleven.com.au/fuel/our-fuels.html
If she thinks it's 91, ask her to point out which one your wife shouldve used

Usually the attendants don't know or care in my experience. They just scan the barcode and the computers work it all out

    • You can click more > Help and Support > Contact us > Fuel price Lock.

A prefilled email with details will open in the email account of your choice and once sent, you'll have a gift card sent to your address with the $$ you should have saved. (Mainly used for when the system is down)

    • What fuel does it say on the receipt? Could be the gauge is triggering the wrong fuel type.

Special unleaded is definitely U91. Blue pump.

  • my old Note8 has died and has served me well. I have a note10+ (android12) has anyone had any luck getting it going in Android 12? My lineage won't install because when I load the magisk the official from for reinstall before TWRP install, it refers to a 16gb storage (the phone is 512gb). Is it just better to buy a burner around the s8/note8 era and get that one sorted?

    • +1

I have it working on Samsung S7 so definitely possible with note10+.

You shouldn't need to load magisk before installing lineage, that part comes after. Make sure you do a backup of everything you need before starting any steps as it will wipe your phone.

It has been a while since I last did it but from memory general steps will be something like:

      • Flash TWRP (I remember some storage/read only thing I needed to flash afterwards, maybe something about decrypting)
      • Flash Lineage
      • Enable root from within Lineage developer settings
      • Flash Magisk
      • unfortunately, Android 12 doesn't like it until you've patched a rom first. It says on the Download menu when odin the TWRP through that only "official Binary installs allowed." unlocked OEM bootlocker and all the other pre stuff. I'm guessing it's a new security element of Android 12. I will keep cracking on via the text walk thru and will make notes and report back for what works and not.

        • +1

In that case, are you able to do system update on your note10+ to get android 12? Looks like there is an official version for it.

          • @CodeXD: yeah it's already on 12.

            • @Rikkh81: no good so far. Get stuck on lineage bootup load screen. Will go thru the marketplaces for an older phone

Is it just me .. or are these insanely good prices at the moment!

    • a 50 cent per litre drop, crazy cheap!

    • Were you able to lock?

    • Ty for this, locked in!

    • +2

      @jv

Why would Dan Andrews/Albo do this??

    • thanks for the heads-up! locked in on two phones.

haven't seen those prices since the start of the year

  • Is it a trap?

    • +5

Don't care - new emails lel

  • Cheers, op. Prices through the roof that I'm struggling. Might have to consider cycling to work instead. /s

    • Why /s ?

That's a completely legitimate way to travel saving money and getting in some exercise.
I'm sure many people have actually started due to the price increases across the board.

  • Nox has now Android 9 emulator

    • +1

But it doesn't have a way to pass SafetyNet Test.

      • Hi cwongtech, is there any easier way to do the fake location thing now for Android? I've looked at the Android SafetyNet bypass - Configuration Guide and it's so complicated…

        • +2

It takes 4 hours to do without my guide.
Now it takes 1-2 hrs with a step-by-step instruction.

          • @cwongtech: ok…will give it a go then thank you!!

          • @cwongtech: I got it working on Nox, and it takes waaaaaaaaaay less time and effort:

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12405017/redir

            • @dontpanic: @dontpanic

does Nox work on Macbooks too please with your instructions?

              • @dealt: Unfortunately as far as I can tell, the Mac emulator doesn't do Android 9…. not yet anyway.

            • @dontpanic: Congratulations and thanks for your contribution with the instructions!

Emulator requires a PC running to host it though

I didn't think it was possible to pass safetynet test with NOX/emulator

What's the time you took to set it up?

Frustratingly, Nox's backup process seems to disable root access, and therefore kills the Magisk/LSPosed installs, otherwise I would have just uploaded a working backup for you all to download and run. It would be amazing if there was a way around this.

Here's an idea: set this up as a Linux VM in VMplayer, then set up NOX within it.

You can then copy and paste the entire Linux VM as a single file and upload for others

              • @cwongtech: Longshot: If I can understand this NOX process properly I will try to build a docker image out of it that one can then run in docker with everything already fully setup. So that's a VM hosting a VM that hosts an Android Emulator for a good fuel deal. Truly Ozbgd

                • +1

                  @dealt: Good luck :)

I'll be sticking with my physical chopper phones (I have 9 operating in service + 1 private) but may attempt to set one up with NOX for self-education purposes (when I have time)

                  • @cwongtech: what do you use to make a chopper phone? 3u tools or ifakelocation?

                    • @jayboi: Old android phones. My configuration guide is included as part of this thread's post at the top.

              • @cwongtech: I don't know how long a fresh install would take… it took me a few hours, but that was mostly because I was researching how to do it and working through trial and error. If you're familiar with the general aspects of Android and rooting, I reckon it would only take 30 minutes or so.

              • @cwongtech: I'll have a look at the VM option when I have some time. Could be a good workaround. Might be a bit too complex for some though. Especially the Docker method proposed above.

  • U91 50.0 11-Seven Wantirna what?

    • i am not getting this price. only 134.9

    • It's showing on p03 but not in the 7-Eleven app. @master131 do you know what's happening?

    • Didn't get $0.50 but managed to lock in $1.349!

  • Show over? Cheapest U95 now showing 189.7

    • Still showing U95 as 146.9 in the 7-Eleven Store locator.

  • +2

Was on the news just now. Apparently price error.

    • Should be honored if managed to lock in?

      • +2

        Yes.
They were showing the cars queuing at the station (amateurs) and mentioned lots of people locked in.
Could be a free advertising stunt tbh

      • Should be honored if managed to lock in?

Why? If it was an error?

      • definitely. locked in 98 when this was happening, filled up nearly $100 and saved about $40

        • Lol what was the employees reaction to the price?

        • I just got an email from 7-Eleven that they are refusing to honour the lock ins.

  • Well that was exciting!

Really strange that P03 is showing 50.0 for Wantirna though despite being 134.9 in actuality.

  • +2

Is anyone getting an Error A01 when signing in the app after locking in the fantastic price?

    • +1

Yep, I've Locked over 50 accounts from 4pm. Started happening half an hour ago for me

    • +2

force quit the app and reopen then you should be logged in.

      • They've turned it off now

    • Happened to me as I was trying to login to the app to lock in. Exited and relaunch which worked.

  • +2

Heaps of servos in the area doing all sorts of price changes.

      • Missed out on the best deal ever :D - thanks @jv

        • the best deal ever

          Hardly….

Was paying 80c per litre without a fuel lock 18 months ago…

had that when trying to lock in 95 but worked with 98

  • I'm getting "uh oh, Fuel Lock is currently unavailable" no matter where i am
    .. shows maybe over

  • uggghh im the same,,fuel price lock is down,,bastards!!!

    • It's back up but so is the price.

      • yeah :(

Just thought I'd share that I managed to get this working on the Nox emulator:

    1. Download and Install Nox (make sure it's the version with the Android 9 Beta)
    2. Open Nox and in the Multi-Drive Manager, make sure you are running the emulation as Android 9 (if not, hit Add Emulator and select Beta Android 9)
    3. Click on the settings cog next to your new Android 9 instance in the manager, click on General and select Root.
    4. Click the play button to run the instance.
    5. Download Magisk-Delta and install the APK (you can do this by just downloading the APK on your PC and drag and dropping into Nox)
    6. Open Magisk Delta, Grant SU/root access to Magisk Delta, click “Install” under Magisk field and use “Direct Install into system partition” option instead of “Direct Install” option. If you don’t see this option, close and re-open Magisk Delta app. If that doesn't work, restart the emulation.
    7. Disable Root access that we earlier enabled in the Nox emulator settings (using the cog button top right of Nox)
    8. Restart emulation.
    9. Download LSPosed Zygisk module and install it in Magisk in the modules tab. Restart.
    10. Download and install My 7-Eleven APK
    11. Download and install Fake GPS <—— Other FakeGPS apps might work, but haven't tested
    12. Open Magisk an go to settings and enable Zygisk and MagiskHide, the click on Configure MagiskHide and select My 7-Eleven.
    13. In the File Manager (Amaze), go to click on the hamburger menu, go to Root, then data>adb>lspd
    14. Copy manager.apk then paste it in the Download folder and open it to install the LSPosed Manager.
    15. Download and install "Hide Mock Location" LSPosed Module
    16. Open LSPosed Manager, go to the modules tab and open Hide Mock Location and select My 7-Eleven
    17. Back in Magisk, go to settings and click on Hide Magisk App, and then enable Allow from this source
    18. You need to go to the Android Settings within the emulation, scroll down to About Phone, scroll down to Build Number and click on that continually until it says you are a Developer! Congratulations on your new career!
    19. Now, go back up a level in the settings click on System.
    20. Scroll down to Developer Options
    21. Scroll down to or search for Select Mock Location App
    22. Set Fake GPS as your mock location app.
    23. Open Fake GPS, go to the hamburger menu and select Go To, then paste the GPS co-ordinates that you got from Refinery
    24. Turn the chopper on.
    25. Open My 7-Eleven, login, and lock your price in.

Frustratingly, Nox's backup process seems to disable root access, and therefore kills the Magisk/LSPosed installs, otherwise I would have just uploaded a working backup for you all to download and run. It would be amazing if there was a way around this.

    • +2

Why don't the last 2 points have parentheses ?

      • +3

I did it especially for you JV

      • +8

Annoyingly, I can't edit it now that you've replied. My OCD hates you.

    • +1

      Nice

    • +1

Thank you - confirming it worked for me too after following your instructions :D

      • Awesome! Took a bit of banging my head against the wall to get it working! I nearly gave up on it. I'd love to find a way to back-up the emulator so that we can just have a downloadable working file. That's the dream. And hopefully 7-Eleven don't start blocking Android 9. That's the nightmare.

        • I think you're brilliant! Thank you for all your hard work and for sticking with it.

    • Thank you for posting. I have followed the steps however when I open fake GPS, I get a message "Almost there. Please set Fake GPS as a mock location app in your device's Settings > Developer options"

      Did I make a mistake?

      • +3

Ahhh… no, I left a step out for the newbies ;)

You need to enable Developer Options and set the Mock Location app.

Mod: The following instructions have been incorporated into the comment and are now irrelevant. It is kept only as a historical record

Unfortunately I can't edit the instructions (maybe the Mods can do it), so I'll put the additional info here:

        1) You should do this after Step 17
        2) You need to go to the Android Settings within the emulation, scroll down to About Phone, scroll down to Build Number and click on that continually until it says you are a Developer! Congratulations on your new career!
        3) Now, go back up a level in the settings click on System.
        4) Scroll down to Developer Options
        5) Scroll down to or search for Select Mock Location App
        6) Set Fake GPS as your mock location app.
        7) Continue with Step 18

        • Thanks for Sharing Dontpanic,

I've followed your steps, but once I go to lock price is gives me a f08 error?

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

          • @Deakin: No idea, unfortunately. I'm not a massive expert on this, I just sort of cobbled together a bunch of other methods I found online and mashed them together till it worked.

When you open up Magisk and LSPosed are they both installed and active?

If you can't get it working, perhaps trash the emulation instance and try again with a new one - you might have missed something….

        • Thank you so much. That did the trick.

        • +1

          Thanks mysterious Mod!

          • @dontpanic: I reported your post asking a mod to edit it for you :)
