Westinghouse Single Induction Cooktop $84 ($81.90 eBay Plus) Delivered @ 247Deals eBay

110
PJAN20PJAN22

Original Coupon Deal

Calling this deal out separately as I posted it as a comment on this deal for the twin cooktop and actually think it's a fair deal given I did a bit of searching and couldn't find it cheaper than it's last all time low at 84 according to the price history here

Has reviewed well from all I can find and thanks to UFO for this tidbit

Choice rates this model number 1 in their portable induction tests (Oct21). 2nd place was actually the Ikea one for $59, and they were the only two tested that got the Choice Recommended/tick of approval.

Product Features

Easy operation.
Super slim 4cm design.
Super efficient operation..
Low noise.
Timer, Power, Temperature functions.
LED display.
Child lock.

Edited for $ and 0 ;)

"81.9" ? I think you've been reading too many pretentious restaurant menus.

    • +1

      hehe I agree.

Too pretentious to even put the dollar sign in too.

Btw, just bear in mind I don't think this induction cooktop has constant lower temperature, but rather cycles on/off full power to achieve lower power levels.

This can be annoying when trying to gently simmer something.
I found in the other thread it appears only the Xiaomi one will do it: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/154273025543?chn=ps&_ul=AU&_trkp…

Ikea does one for $59, good reviews..
        Does that have steady power?

        • +2

Ikea one does not do steady power, it also cycles on and off on lower settings.

      • Or maybe not according to a comment by @Al-Melbs a little further down in that thread.

Possibly the newer DCL002CM does though?

xiaomi, can’t access temp functions without using a mobile phone and the app …chinese quick menu options on the oiled dial or just power levels on plead dial without mobile phone app.for some dumb reason can’t get into temp function without mobile app. also seems to have hot spot …. heat goes up but small area gets hot …. tried several pots including tri clad ….. have bought a nuwave…. hey to tty but claims temp down to 40c and doesn’t pulse …. yet to try …….

    • Haha habit, work in finance and everyone complains about visual clutter when there are $ and 0's everywhere.

The super-slim 4cm profile means the unit won’t weigh you down when you take it along for your outdoor adventures.

The solar array and inverter system to supply 240V at around 9A to power your superslim cooktop is going to be a biatch to carry around on your "outdoor adventures" though.

Clearly not for hiking. Camping/back of trailer/ute/caravan setup.
This is actually what I bought this cooktop for. To finally get rid of the gas bottle and connect to a battery/panel setup.

camping functions are usually referring to when run off a generator … seems generators and induction cooktops don’t always play nice hence they mention outdoor use ….. my nuwave has a generator function where it operates at lower wattage as not everybody has a 2000W generator when they go camping…. 1000w generators and investors are more viable.

I'd been using the Ikea one for the past 4-5 years. currently $59 in store and it has been great. I would buy the Ikea one as it was super easy to return in store for a replacement when it broke. The first one will not power on about 9 months in, returned to store, full refund. We just bought another in store as replacement, restarted the warranty period. The second unit is still going.

    • I've only recently purchased the above Westinghouse one, but I agree with these sentiments. IKEA are very good with returns (if you have one near you).

Don't forget though that the link above is an Ebay Plus item, so free returns and buyer protection with that as well.

  • Does anyone know what the actual active area on this cooktop is or what max size pot it would work with?

  • +1

According to Choice its 12 to 20cm, same as IKEA's one.

That's contact surface area. I have a 28cm Tefal pan (pretty large pan) that has a 19.5cm base.

    • hows it that compare to the Ikea one?

  • Does this cycle on and off?

    • No idea sorry

  • Thanks OP - got the last one as I use my older Tefal version for camping and have loved it for the past 5 years! This is the one I have been using - https://www.amazon.com.au/TEFAL-IH2018-Induction-Ceramic-Coo…
