    • +6

      Can't neg if you're silent

      • +3

I doubt he'll understand your well made point.

Until being baffled again, at the next federal election…

    • +7

That would be the same 5:1 outvoted minority who elected seven of the last nine majority governments?

      Keeping lol'ing…

  • +2

Wassup my neggers! Can we get the Dan andrews version please?

    • +4

Covered already further up. You just need to send a stamped self addressed envelope to News Corp and they'll send you one out!

      • +1

Oh nice. I'll check it out. Cheers.

    • +1

JV was the first to ask for it.

  • +1

Sometimes I wonder if this does more harm than good. I hate Scomos and the LNP with a passion but a lot Aussies react to this kind of material with a contrarian stance. Ie- we have a juvenile democracy

    • +1

Is it any worse than the UAP spamming us with text messages and having huge billboards saying not to trust the two major parties? And, where do you think their preferences are going to end up… probably helping ScoMo get re-elected!

  • +2

They should do these with Novak's face even though he won.

    • +8

Let's hope the minister cancels his visa anyway by discretion. Pretty sure the majority of Australian's don't want an anti-vax poster boy parading around on a tennis court anytime soon.

      • +4

I really hope so. The judge seemed to have made his decision before it even started.

  • +8

this is a political ads rather than deal. dont' mention the donation you'll have to make for this sticker.

  • Let's take this discussion elsewhere… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/676823

  • +5

It seems rather unfriendly to the environment to create a sticker that will most likely just end up blowing around the streets gathering more muck than the message it represents!

    • +8

If the stickers are successful, on balance it will likely be an improvement.

  • +11

Political bullshit should stay out of Ozbargain

    • +2

Newscorp and the 1 old fart that owns it shouldn't have a monopoly of our media so people on the other side of politics have a fair chance of being heard and can keep their bullshit confined to appropriate channels, but hey, people don't always get what we want right?

  • +9

This is political advertising, not a deal.

  • +6

Why isn't this deal marked as Expired. Come on Mods, how about showing some integrity here.

    • Is the deal expired? Have you confirmed or can you point us to something that says that Lindsay is no longer sending the bin stickers out for free?

  • +10

blatant political advertising - no place on this site. You will just stir up a hornets nest with this type of "deal"

  • +5

Rubbish, my granma can make better sticker lol

  • +15

    Please keep OZB non-political

  • +2

For stickers, it's not a good deal in comparison to my local in Springvale that does custom stickers. no beal

  • +16

I don't support any sort of political content on this site, one of the main reasons I enjoy browsing here & interacting is the distinct lack of politics, and I'd prefer it stayed that way.

    • +1

Until jv rocks up with his dictator Dan comments

  • +12

Wowsers! Some of these stickers are a bit much!

We should have a rule to just delete posts that purport to be "bargains" to further a specific political and religious agenda!

In my opinion that only agenda that's worth supporting is paying less for more - the true Ozbargain way!

    • +8

I find the mods reasoning perplexing "we allowed xxx before so we have to allow this"

Maybe there's a bargain on backbones that will be helpful

  • +8

I support clean energy but these things doesnt belong here, it adds up to polarize the broader community.

Look at last usa election trump/biden. It goes all the way to "you are either with us or against us."

  • +14

Politics shouldn't be on here. Is not a deal. Commented so I could neg.

  • Can anyone recommend a good charger for my laddas?

  • It would be the same decisions whoever you put there.

    • +3

No, it wouldn't. This is demonstrably false and at this point just an excuse for ignorance.

I'm not sure where this comes from exactly, I suspect it is voter apathy encouraged by the mainstream media and their corporate donors with the goal of keeping things the same.

      • +1

Ignorant and apathic in the same post, thank you. Pull your head out of the sand and look what decisions they are taking in other countries.

        • +2

Please, point me in the right direction. I'm open to changing my views of you present evidence.

  • +11

Not a deal, political advertising has no place here.

  • +5

I voted LNP last few elections and I'm counting the days until I can vote out Perrotwit and Scomo

Having said that I dont think this is a productive post for the ozb community

    • I think it a shame you can't do a blank postal vote I think like you can at the booths .
Correct me if I'm wrong .

      • +6

Throwing away your vote ensures bad candidates get elected.

        • That's exactly what disingenuous LNP propagandists want, for your average Aussie to throw their votes away so they can get in again

  • +2

    Will it work on PS5?

  • Free things are in fact very expensive, just not in form of money.

    • +2

That free piece of laminated coal sure is costing Australia a lot.

  • +3

Who is heck is Lindsey and how do I contact her. Mods: are you awake ?

    • Mods: are you awake ?

      For the next few hours.

      EDIT: Going to sleep now.

  • +12

The political signs that litter the landscape at election time are bad enough. Encouraging people to plaster their bins with this eyesore is even worse. What a waste of money and resources, and certainly not a bargain.

    • +3

I can't wait for Big Clive to plaster his crap on every platform trying help the Libs get over the line again .

  • +17

Quite frankly, as an Australian I am disgusted by this, even with my allegiances towards the labour party.
United we stand, divided we fall.
This deal/post should have been removed 7 hts and 29 mins ago.
Again, United we stand divided we fall.

    • Are you one of those high percentage of lib voters who pretend to be a Labor voter?

Cause that's a thing and your post is odd.

      • +7

Tell me more about this thing. I'd like to see your sources for your claims.

        • -2

It is why the polls where off. One of the reasons.

It's called social desirability bias. Some research articles:

          1. Non-compulsory voting in Australia?: what surveys can (and can't) tell us

          2. Public Opinion and Compulsory Voting in Australia

Privately vote LNP due to stigma

          • +7

@Korban Dallas: A major contributing factor would be due to Lefties screeching the loudest and espousing their political views to anybody and everybody at times forcefully and unsolicited.

I do not believe for one second there is societal prestige in voting Labor. Quite the opposite.

            • +6

@Lets Go Brandon: So true. Growing up, never seen any wide spread discrimination for voting either party in Australia, but political advertising like this makes it worse.

      • +3

Why would anybody pretend to be on the losing team? LOL

        • +1

          Above^

        • -1

Behold the mind of an LNP member: everything is a game. Even people's lives

      • -1

I am from a labour ground, and also a rabbitohs supporter.
As is many labour people like Albo, diedre g, the lissing brothers and more.

      • I wish I still had the stamped signed envelopes of Bob hawke and Neville wran to share but my ex wife (lib) burnt them.my father was worked in the mines and was proud to obtain them.
I keep my political opinions open unlike my cousins, uncles, aunts etc.

        • +1

Thanks for confirming. Made it pretty obvious.

          😂

          • +6

@Korban Dallas: So you are confirming that you are a Labor voter - so you arent here for the bargains, only to push for what you believe is right.

            Cuts both ways buddy.

There are posts here that claim to be LNP voters but call it as Scomo/Perrwit. Sure they voted LNP. 😂. Dont see you calling those posts out!

Just because some here think that a bargain site should be all inclusive, for those who want to vote anyway they like, just like we accept anyone of any racial, sexual, educational, religious background.

So if we dont agree with you on this post, we are automatically classified by you as being of a particular political persuasion. Talk about extreme and judgemental behaviour.

Behaviour I find abhorrent from Left or Right.

I dont like your views here, just like those of SlaveOz with their vax views. You are both very opinionated.

            • +3
              • +5

@Korban Dallas: Congratulations on making this usually friendly site where people share good things, to being a place of distrust and dislike.

              • +2

                @Korban Dallas: Well played.

This nonsense about every vote counting is so 2010…

            • +2

@RockyRaccoon: Your scepticism shows you've never been a true swing voter, not everyone is bound to a party room with blind faith

    • labour?

  • +2

Imagine calling a environmental problem "political", but it is ozbargain after all

    • +1

I take it you haven't seen the content on the bin sticker?

  • +12

I don't believe that a neg should have to be substantiated with a particular comment, when a upvote doesn't. Anyway politics should stay outa ozb, we've got enough tension on this site already. Neg reason- not a bargain, not anything i want, just more rubbish. Why would I donate money for this?

  • +10

Well this is turning OzPolitical.. should have been left in the forums.

  • +23

    *Anti-left deal gets posted
Left leaning users: Comments, negs, whinges a bit and moves on

    *Anti-Right deal gets posted
Right leaning users: Keeps crying to the mods about ozbargain being 'sWaMpEd' by political deals or turning into 'ozpolitics' demanding them to take it down while ignoring the existence of deals which pander to them. Pretends to be Labour supporters and criticises deal because they realise no one including the mods care about their man-tears and refuse to give them special treatment.

Keep going, this sht is entertaining

    • +6

Did you hum the tune to "Don't stop believing" whilst you wrote that.

      • +1

I can play it on synth and guitar, as well as hum. I still have Journey escape from when my father went overseas care of the trade unions

      • +1

        I am now

    • +7

Sadly true. I was just looking at some popular JP deals in response to this comment:

posts like these are the exact same as the Jordan Peterson or Merc 'bargains' that are posted to trigger people

They have maybe 20 down votes. There's none of this "don't bring politics into Ozbargain" or whinging to the mods. There's always a much bigger, emotional reaction from the "right."

      • None of JP's purchasable material is in the slightest bit political

  • Surprised no one has mentioned Climate 200.

The eight charts that help explain why the Coalition won the 2019 Australian election

    Education plays a big part.

    Work and education
One of the strongest correlations between swing and the data I considered was with education and employment status

The percentage of people who had completed year 12 in an electorate was moderately correlated with a swing towards Labor. That is, electorates with higher education rates were more likely to swing towards Labor, and electorates with lower rates of education were more likely to swing towards the Coalition

    https://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2019/may/22/the-ei…

    • +3

Agreed. Barely educated, left-leaning, union-dependent teachers have a lot to answer for…

      • Throw some more adjectives and vitriol in there, facts be damned

        • +2

Happy to receive some information disputing that tertiary entrance ranks are amongst the lowest for teaching degrees, just as union membership amongst teachers is amongst the highest by profession, as are left-leaning political views. I have plenty of friends who are teachers and don't think any one of them would dispute any of those commonly accepted occupational norms.

By all means, show me otherwise. I love facts…

  • +12

How is ‘donation’ still in the title. The stickers are literally behind a paywall. Pay $20 and get stickers. Sounds very much like a transaction to me.
No firearms or other tools of use allowed on the site but political crap is oked. How does that work? A pistol was posted and mods moved quick smart to remove any and all firearms plus a permanent ban but this time a gif is put up by a mod instead mocking those with concerns about the post. I’m confused.
Keep OzB free from political and religious crap.

    • +9
      • +7

"The issue is that controversial topics often bring out the worst in people. We don't want to be the venue for these fights when people are looking for deals."

        OOF

        • +6

‘Don’t want to be the venue for these fights’
Posts a gif basically asking for fights to ensue.

    • I'd say the big difference is that

      1) Well, most of the attacks/feedback seem to be aimed towards OzBargain staff instead of pitted against each other. Not great for us but its entirely preferable whereas the gun post was loads of people attacking each other. Distinct difference.
      2) Also explained in that post was it was the middle of the weekend and shortstaffed. Whereas the OP of this deal had a decency to post on a weekday during business hours when the entire staff was working and was able to meet, discuss and action.

So that's how it works. You need to think of the consequences of blanket banning types of deals.

      Political deals: Do we ban

      Religious deals: Do we ban

*Koorong Deals which only sell Christian related products. Where do you draw the line? Christmas is a religious holiday, should we ban [eBook] Free: "200 Christmas Jokes for Kids" $0 @ Amazon AU, US

7 Eleven Wage Theft? Uber paying their workers below minimum wage?

This is a discussion site about bargains. This is a free sticker. So discuss respectfully.

If you do have some feedback, please feel free to start a thread in the site discussion thread. Thanks.

      • -3

        Very convoluted excuse. Well done!

        • This is becoming like reddit. What is it with moderators and obsessively slanting forums to the left. Is it that the right doesn't breed the same sort of people that can be bothered to do such a job?

          • +6

@900dollaridoos: Why are you guys so against freedom of speech?

            • @ihfree: No freedom of speech is just that. If you moderate you need to moderate fairly and without bias.

We have to acept freedom allows others to have opinions we dont agree with.

So dont play this against "freedom" card as it bites back big time.

              • @RockyRaccoon: Moderate fairly is exactly what is happening. You see it as unfair because you're clearly biased. Provide evidence the moderators are unfair otherwise stop making excuses against the free speech you supposedly hold so dearly
