40% off Mattresses (Excluding Children’s), 30% off All Beds, 15% off Selected Wardrobes Including PAX + More @ IKEA

1650

I have been reliably informed that, sadly, there won't be a 15% off sitewide offer this year at IKEA. However, this is the next best thing, I guess.

For four days from 12.00am Friday 29 November – 11:59pm Monday 2 December, IKEA Family members will get up to 40% off selected home furnishings and accessories.

The IKEA Black Friday sale features:

40% off mattresses (excluding children’s)
30% off all beds
30% off selected children’s sleep products
20% off all bed textiles and pillows
15% off selected wardrobes including PAX
15% off all chest of drawers and bedside tables

Enjoy!

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2024

Great find i just bought one a couple weeks, they have a 365 day returns policy so hoping they will adjust the price

    • +1

Bought one this weekend. Luckily within 21 day price guarantee (CBA). Having done the IKEA buyback before I can only imagine they would get you to drag the mattress into store to get a price match.

      • +1

So if I buy a chest of drawers now will the refund me when the sale kicks in?

        • +1

I think that's available exclusively through his Commonwealth Bank account/card?

For the rest of us, I can't find any reference to a price guarantee. IKEA US has a 90 day price protection policy, can't find any reference to it on their Australian website.

          • +12

@AndyDD: Correct, IKEA Australia does not have a price guarantee. Learnt this last year. Bought products (Bed/Mattress) worth $2000 then couple of weeks later the prices went down to $1400. Tried asking for a price adjustment but was told they can't do it. So I bought the new ones and returned them with the old receipt.

            • @alterego13: Thanks, I might just have to do that, will buy a few items now, then will buy more and return more

              • +1

@Mortin: Just note that, when you do return through their 365 return policy, the refund is in IKEA credit. So you might want to wait till you get the credit first before buying more.

                • @YeboMate: Even if the product is unused and intact?

                  • @Mortin: That I’m not sure. I returned my mattress and did get them to pick it up for $49 and I got a IKEA spend card as the refund (it was the value of the mattress - the $49).

                • +1

@YeboMate: I received credit back to the original mode of payment. It was paid with gift cards and credit card, and the refund was as the exact amount of IKEA gift cards and refund to credit card.

                  • @alterego13:

Cancel your order using our Track and Manage order tool. Once cancelled, your refund will occur automatically onto your card of purchase in approximately 5-7 business days.

            • +1

              @alterego13: this is the way

        • +4

Funnily enough, I bought a bed frame to assemble later during BF sales. Then the price dropped by $100! On the chat I said I could bring the bits in and buy it again for the lower price… and they sent me a gift card for the difference.

          • @lainey13: You can chat with them?

          • @lainey13: How about buying in advance for click collect, never picking it up, cancelling and repurchasing at the sale?

I wouldn’t get an ikea mattress if it was free. Absolute trash

    • +17

We got the lowest end ikea spring mattress and we vastly preferred it to the Koala it replaced even though we feel every move each of us make lol. I think judgements around mattresses are always going to be subjective

      • +1

The Ikea mattresses are all around 2-3 stars out of 5 with bedbuyer reviews. You could buy the top rated sleep republic mattress for not much more. Plus it's a good idea to invest a bit more money for your bedding since you spend 1/3 of your life there anyway

        • I don't think my next mattress will be either tbh. I don't like zoned pocket springs or the gimmicky stuff like gel infused memory foam

        • That site looks like affiliate marketing junk. From a skim of the review they are 100% vibes and feels no actual scientific test of even firmness

All of our expert reviewers agreed that this firm version has a ‘medium-firm’ feel. By majority vote, we settled on a 7 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).

What a garbage test and would be influenced by how the person is feeling on the day.

I have a cheap ikea mattress then used a tempur mattress topper, it’s the most comfortable bed I’ve sleeped in now and cost less than 800 in total

    • Similar experience tbh.
Much better experience with Ecosa and Emma

      • Same. We got the firmest they offered back in 2017, and it caved on my side in less than 3 years. I would roll into a pit of fire when lying on it. And I weighed 72kg at the time. I would often move to the couch, bc it had more support. And the couch was IKEA too!

    • +1

Trash opinion, I reminisce my ikea matress. Probably will buy one at this sale

    • Love mine. Best mattress I've ever had. I've had 2.

    • You get what you pay for

      Pay little get Trash

Pay a lot and they are exceptional.

  • +4

Been holding off buying a PAX for this!

    • Me too. But not sure KOMPLEMENT is included or not this time.

      • +8

I can provide you a komplement if you like

  • I've been eyeing the valevag mattress, anyone had any experience with them?

We currently using an off branded double medium pocket spring mattress and we love it, and we need to get a larger size.

    • +2

i have this mattress as of 2 months, if your body runs hot it will make u sweat (kept waking up soaked) and retain the heat in the night, had to buy a mattress topper to stop this

    • +2

avoid mattresses with zones, they sag within weeks. get their cheaper Vesteroy and add a topper.

      • Exactly what I was thinking

  • Decent deal… Try and stack with gc discount if you can find one imho

    • been scanning for 10% ikea GCs for moooooooonths

  • Does Ikea have king single bed and mattress? I tried to search but it seems they only have single.

    • All their bedding sizes are a bit off including sheets etc. My standard aus stuff doesnt fit very well on ikea bedding.

  • I've literally just ordered a Pax and Platsa wardrobe for delivery this Friday. What I'm thinking is continue with the delivery. Then on 29th, order the same thing again, but for click and collect, and then take it straight to the returns section and give them my original order invoice for return … reckon that will work?

    • Similar situation, considering this option too. Anyone done this before?

    • Yes should work. I don't know why the downvote, can someone please explain why this is not good? Besides more admin work for the return counter.

I bought their Dirigera hub before then weeks later they lowered the price. So I bought a new one and returned it the next day. I claimed return on the old one tho.

    • go speak to the returns area first and see if they’ll refund the difference

      • I spoke to them on chat, and they said they only will refund the difference if it was purchased a week before the sale

  • Does this include Cot Mattress?

  • Which Ikea mattress is the best? King size and firm. Looking to replace my 5 year old ZZZ Atelier.

    • +1

most likely better off with another zzz atelier…

Consider going to a local bed manufacturer (like made in Australia) - there are a few around Syd/Melb if you're in one of those cities

  • Silly question that probably no-one would be able to answer - any chance sofa beds fall under the "beds" category?

  • Does anyone know if Plasta will be inlcluded?

    • I don't think Ikea sells plaster, try Bunnings

  • Just ordered Pax wardrobes yesterday :(. The link just mentions one colour combo.

    $163.50 off PAX / BERGSBO wardrobe, white/white stained oak effect, 200cm x 60x 236cm. B Fri price - $926.50

Any know if the discount applies to the other colours?

  • Any recommendations on double bed frame to go with a Sealy mattress? I found some of their bed frames are 1-2 cm narrower if matching with other brands’ mattress

    • Koala Paddington bed frame generally accepted as the best frame you can get

      • Really? Surely a solid timber frame would be better.

        • -2

It is a solid timber frame. It's made from Ash

  • Thank you for sharing OP

Almost bought 2 of the (BRIMNES - Wardrobe with 3 doors), lucky I waited

  • Considering getting the Akrehamn mattress for the guest bedroom. Anyone has experience with this mattress?

  • I hope the Billy bookcase is on sale!

  • Has anyone used the MALM bed frame? Is it any good?

    • +1

We have the MALM in King size with under bed storage and the upgraded slats. We're happy with it so far, 3 months in. It feels sturdy and doesn't squeek. The under bed storage dont get used much.

It was a schlep to put together with those upgraded slats. Took us the whole afternoon

      • Thank you! I didn’t realize you could choose slats until I saw your message. I think I’ll go with the upgraded option.

    • +1

Yep it's 'okay' squeaks and creaks when you roll over after 6 months or so. I reckon if you grabbed a bottle of wood glue and glued the major pieces it would be far better.

      • Can confirm - just get some Liquid Nails from Bunnings put it wherever you have wood-on-wood joints and it'll be solid and quiet. Just makes the whole thing stay permanently built, so you won't be able to take it apart easily.

        • I mean have you ever disassembled and reassembled ikea furniture successfully? I've only ever had it not go back together the screws have bored out all their holes so don't bind in properly.

  • +1

are all Ikea mattresses the mattress-in-a-box type, the ones that inflate themselves when you first open them?

    • +1

      AFAIK, yes

    • +1

      Most are, except VATNESTRÖM

      • Vatnestrom is also flat packed.

        • Vatnestrom is flat packed. The other's is not flat packed, but compressed and rolled packed, as shown in the photo.

  • Shame I wanted to buy a cooktop

  • Op, how you know there won't be any sitewide discount? I was waiting for this.

  • All their mattresses are so short though, only 190cm?

    • They have queen size (152cm (W) x (202cm (L).
