  • Are these for the Australian/western market versions or China versions flashed with English firmware?

    • An what lens are you getting?
      Random? Wide or narrow?
      What are you actually buying?

      • 4mm

        they are available as:

        2.8mm Fixed Lens
        4mm Fixed Lens
        6mm Fixed Lens

but they probably have overstock on 4mm

  • HikVision have terrible security including a recent remote admin exploit (CVE-2021-36260) being in their devices for five years. They've also marketed cameras promoting that they could minorities including Uyghurs. Terrible products from a despicable company.

    • what? They've also marketed cameras promoting that they could minorities including Uyghurs.

      • +1

they could be used to monitor Uyghurs.

i find that hard to beleive but yeah… be aware of what you're buying

problem is hikvision have such a strangehold on the market

        them and dahua

    • only matters if you expose the http server to the internet. reverse proxy with auth front-end will stop that.
not disagreeing with your sentiments though!

    • I mean any camera can monitor minorities, I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

    • Do Hikvision now allow end user firmware updates to patch these exploits?

    • This is camera not NVR, if you really has experience in this industry, no one will open port for camera itself.

    • Do you think the USA and Australia might have cameras trying to identify certain ethnic groups too??

If you don't, I have some prime Gold Coast swamp land I would like to sell you.

Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., often shortened to Hikvision, is a Chinese state-owned manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance equipment for civilian and military purposes, headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Its controlling shares are owned by the Chinese government.

If only the fools hadn't voted for police state surveillance in Australia by voting Labor and Liberal. The latest insult, passed June last year, is allowing US intelligence agencies to alter the publications of Australians.

      Without informing them.

While they blabber some lunacy about the Chinese government watching them.

      Which it isn't.

        what did you honestly expect?

australians are complacent greedy voters who are only interested in franking credits, investment properties and F' you I got mine.

So Morrison is a perfect reflection of their character and talentless harpies like Michaela Cash "AG" is a mirror to what 'law enforcement' is in this country… replacing the old alleged rapist AG.

They also passed a law that allows the feds to take over your computer slash social media accounts where they can change information at will without your permission.

So if they want to portray you as an antifa child molester then yeah, they can legally.

The LNP wants to be the CCP.

    • Hisense and TCL are also owned by the Chinese government. So you boycott them as well?

In my experience HIKVision offer good quality cameras at reasonable prices. I own 2 of the cameras I have linked to in this post and they are very, very good.

I also own a HIKVision NVR. It is OK, I would say not as good as the cameras.

  • good price but if you're buying a few to set up a new system, worth considering getting the international version from AliExpress as it's a decent further saving (obviously will not have local support, warranty, delivery, etc)

  • +1

I've already got a bunch of these around the place, and they're excellent quality cameras. As long as you're not concerned about the Chinese government or military spying on you, then these are a good buy.

    • you can always put them on their own vlan and not give them access out…

i mean that's the recommendation for every business

    • Free back to base monitoring… As long as China calls the cops when they see someone breaking into my place, I'm good

  • Looks exactly like the Annke NC800 which is more expensive. Awesome picture day and night. Does attract bugs with the lights though.

  • If you want the latest & greatest from Hikvision, go the ColorVu Series……amazing quality night footage in full colour without attracting all the insects / moths!

The 4k turret model was recently released - https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Ca…

    • They look good, but also cost $350 or so vs $215 for these….

    • +1

Expensive but very nice… Have seen some video on YouTube… quality of the colorvu is incredible.

For anyone who is so concern of the security, take your surveillance system of the internet. It's called Closed Circuit Television for reasons.

  • Company looks dodgy. No ABN, Had live chat and when asked for it they hung up on me. Also no security number. Looks like ABN has been cancelled.

    • Had a look on the site… their privacy policy and terms and conditions both list and ABN and a company name / business name which is valid, or at least appears to be when I did a quick search. I will give them a buzz and see what they have to say as the product pricing for an acusense 8mp is pretty good. Even if it is 4mm can still put it to good use.

      • All looks ok astro. Cheers
