I think the price would be reasonable if the resolution was better. FHD is not good enough for such a large screen. It should have been QHD at least.
I have two. honestly at normal viewing distances it looks great.
Worth it just to stop the Mrs gifting you useless photos
At that price might as well buy a xiaomi tablet and hook it in as photo frame.
Didn't know Xiaomi tablets come that big!
Buy a cheap 27" monitor and slap on a Google TV. Atleast it'll be in qhd
at $549 you may as well pay a bit more and get a 32 inch samsung frame tv for sub 700s.. much better value
True but from memory not full HD. But I'd still get the Samsung over this.
the samsung? i think 2020 version is FHD which is $500. the newer one is 4k
yeah they'd need to knock off another $200 for this to be worth it. You can get slim monitors for this kind of price and has way more utility.
My echo Show runs my photo slideshow for free.
Genuine question, can you pull the photos from Google photos or is it only limited to Amazon photo service?
I've got a neat hub and its great for that. Want to get my family in the echo ecosystem for drop in feature, but really want to being able to link to Google photo tooI haven't played around with it much. I will try today to get into it.
I read an echo show review recently that said it cannot pull from Google photos
what was lenovo thinking lmao
Buy a Google home to display photos.
Sure, just point me to the one that has a 21.5" screen.
Is it 2005?
Hmm, this, or get:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265326053196?hash=item3dc6aa474c
and turn it 90 degrees with the keyboard to the back?
Silly me - mine is smaller so you'd have to add a monitor, it doesn't have an ambient light sensor and has way too many choices for input.
Would be wise to buy an Echo instead
Screen size is appealing. Anyone have this and can comment on the quality?
Yes I have it. it looks great.
That said I'm a pro photog so I've only put very good quality files into it.
How is it powered… I'm assuming it's just a normal adapter brick? None of the pictures on jb show a cable going to it…
yep there's a small brick that goes straight onto the power socket and a thin white cable coming out of it. I ran it through the wall to it. Easy to hide.
Love it! I’m the same.
What’s the frame like is it wood?
I’ve got dakboard.com throughout the house I made myself
Or $100 more for 32" samsung Frame TV instead
https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/qa32ls03tbwxxy-samsung-3…I’m so sad I missed this deal. I was hoping for a better one today, but no :(
While I don’t think I’ll buy this myself, it’s a bit too expensive imo, I do run Google Photos on my Nest Hub and wish it was bigger. Google Photos is a pretty nice platform for a photo frame imo, it’s not just a basic slideshow, it rotates through in groups so you see the same collection for a few days and then a whole new collection, it also displays two portraits side by side (& seems to have some AI about which ones it combines), it has smart albums that can pick photos of selected people out of your recents and add those automatically, and other other nice stuff.
The Lenovo frame does all that stuff as well
i will wait for it to go down to 150
If this was a tablet I'd easily pay 3x the asking price
probably cheaper to use raspberry pi and a FHD monitor
Actually I'm using a 27 inch monitor on my wall as the photo frame, just trying to find the best simple and cheap source to store and display the photos.
Would a pi be good for this and can you point me to any info on using it as such?
Cheers
It is. Just use dakboard.com I’ve got about 7 in the house.
Making it look like a real frame is hard though, so tempted by this.
i like how the word of the day / quote section of their webpage shows bitcoin price at 6.4k.
I remember those days.
But Dakboard uses other services from the web, as mentioned I'm looking for a stand alone solution.
I think it's a nice idea but $399 is a bit to steep, let alone $549
