Another Black Friday deal, another blow to my wallet. This will take a little longer to deliver from UK, but an instabuy as a Prime member.

It has its critics, but at 4th place on BoardGameGeek.com I'm prepared to take the "risk".

In the 2400s, mankind begins to terraform the planet Mars. Giant corporations, sponsored by the World Government on Earth, initiate huge projects to raise the temperature, the oxygen level, and the ocean coverage until the environment is habitable. In Terraforming Mars, you play one of those corporations and work together in the terraforming process, but compete for getting victory points that are awarded not only for your contribution to the terraforming, but also for advancing human infrastructure throughout the solar system, and doing other commendable things.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

    • Someone needs to stop me from buying Gloomhaven lmao

      • At $140? Nobody will stop you, just buy it.

        • Just bought JotL from the deal a few weeks back. I'll probably never get to Gloomhaven proper.

          • @andehh: Heh, same. Brand new JOTL sitting on table ready to play.

Terraforming Mars is a good game, you won't be disappointed.

TIME Stories and Unlock! (similar game type from the same developer) are also great for a small group to play as a cooperative game. Do keep in mind they are single play through with replay limited to optimisation (finding a quicker path through the game but with most secrets already known so no element of mystery/adventure/surprise that makes the first play through so fun). For $50 though it's a good deal for a few hours of entertainment with friends, and like a lot of board games, after a few plays, the group will want to try different games anyway.

    • Agreed, such a good and engrossing game. A friend and I played it twice with some seasoned veterans, we both immediately jumped on board the Big Box with all expansions and add-ons on Kickstarter. No regrets. Introduced the game to three friends and they're just as obsessed.

    • Unlock is not really worth it unless you can sell when finished for $25-$30. It’s only 3-3.5 hours play per box.

  • Awesome game!! Highly recommended.

only trouble with this deal is is there anyway of knowing (before spending) if we are in or out?

  • Damn, a great a price and an instant buy for me as well. This last week has been smashing my wallet but my games library is certainly growing quickly.
