One of the most hyped board games of 2024, here's a review from SU&SD. I've played it once and while the rules are pretty intimidating it's actually not too difficult - it's a pretty fun game. The same creators of Root and Oath if you've played those before.

  • Is this 3rd party fulfilment? None of the stores near me have stock. Probably gonna get a dinted box sent by Gameoholic or some budget operator.

  • This game is quite unavoidably vicious, and absolutely superb.

Almost worth buying a second copy if you've got your first packed into the big campaign expansion box.

      what does unavoidably vicious mean

Is it difficult to be polite?
You have no idea of the comprehension skills of the person you are talking to and yet you decide to mock them. Nice

@doobes: I could have just copy and pasted the definitions of vicious and unavoidably.

        • +1

Plus you described the game itself as "unavoidably vicious" (e.g. a game like Kingdom Death) which is a different thing from (this) game that requires vicious play/strategy.

@Crow K: if it requires vicious play does that not make it unavoidable?

            • @diamondd: There's a difference between a game being vicious to the players and a game where the players are vicious to each other. (Kingdom Death is the former, not the latter).

If anything, the former usually bonds the players together. So yeah, different types of games creating a different player mood.

  • Read the reviews carefully for this game.
If you only like euro stuff you'll hate this.
The game's quite fun if you like vicious interaction but also could be quite frustrating at times if youre trying to win. Best experienced like a party game imo, though it's kinda long (2 hours ish 4p)

Euros used to be pretty nasty themselves back in the day.

      • +1

And now they are multiplayer solitaire spreadsheet simulators.

  • very tempted to get this game (have been kicking myself for not opting into the Kickstarter) after seeing all the high praises it received. Even more tempted to get it at $79!

  • Over hyped IMO, it’s ok but not something I consider must have for a collection. I feel like everyone jumped on the hype bandwagon because of how popular Root is.

  • Notwithstanding the $10 newsletter offer, this is cheaper elsewhere if you can pickup to avoid postage:
