If that's the price I'd have to pay for a 3080ti, so be it.

      • -4

I guess you could always sub out the card for something a little less cyber vagina-ry

  • +4

considering cheapest 3080ti goes for 2399

    500 for the rest

    • +2

Given the specs and the tin can case, $500 seems about right. Cooler saves it, barely.

Horrible CPU pairing with a 3080 Ti, QHD and 4K gaming only (not that you should be using a 3080 Ti for FHD anyway).

    • And yet people sell the rest for $1000 in gumtree.

      • +1

        *list for $1000

        • I don't see any GPU-less Alienware PCs on gumtree, figured they must have eventually sold?

          • @exit: gumtree doesn't annouce what they sold for

  • +1

Seems like a good deal considering the graphics card is at least 2.5K by itself. Anyone has any experience with their pre-built systems like this one?

    • +3

      check the review out here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ulhFi5N2hc

      YMMV though.

      • Wow that was painful! But the review was for R10 with Ryzen, this is R12 - Dell still cutting corners?

        • It's more the custom implementation that scares me. Can't just pick out the good bits and add it to a new MOBO, somewhat locked in.

        • +1

no idea tbh. that review is fairly recent but wouldnt put it past Dell to cut corners.

        • +3

You watched a 30 min video in 7mins? seems you were fishing for this comment.

        • The R12 is slightly better, but not by much,

      • +2

Yeah I think that review is overblown for views. I’ve been using an R10 with a 3070 for gaming and mining and it’s a beast. This R12 has liquid cooling which solves half the thermal problems straight away. It’ll likely be good enough most people who aren’t maxing out the rig 24/7.

        • +1

Overblown for views? It's an 1800 dollar (USD mind you) pc with a 3 dollar cpu cooler on it that thermal throttles in a bad case. I'll take a proper reviewer's word over a random OZbargainer's feel on how it works lol.

Also comes with a weaker OEM cpu (5800 non-x).

          • @JerraJones: Eh take it as you will. I’ve been using my R10 nonstop for 7 months so I think I’ve got a pretty good idea of its limitations. As I said in the comment, this R12 had liquid cooling so the main concern over the crappy CPU air cooler from that review is not valid.

…why did I just know that was going to be a link to Gamers Nexus, before clicking on it? Gotta love Tech Jesus!

I have a similar R12 with a 3080 (but better processor) - paid a similar price to this in March. It took 3 months to arrive.

Overall, very happy with the system. I have the white one.

    Things of note:
It is noisy when the fans fire up. That said, I have not modified any settings dealing with fans or cooling, nor have I installed MSI Afterburner (yet). I can't tell you any temperatures sorry. Fans seem to be all-in or nothing - it's almost always silent on desktop stuff, but will kick in intermittently during gaming.
Performance is… well it's a 3080. I run triple QHD 75hz monitors, but centre is a UWQHD @ 144hz. Nothing I've installed yet has managed to hurt it @ Ultra or High.
    Connectivity is great with an absolute truckload of USB - I think I've got 6x rear 2.0, 3x 3.0, 1 each of 3.1 Gen 2 Type A and Type C 10gb/sec. Front USB is 3x Type A and 1x Type C superspeed.
Case is really nice, and I find the RGB is a good balance of aesthetics without being over the top. The case is larger than it looks and quite heavy. I haven't opened it up yet and probably won't until I feel the need for a RAM upgrade (or storage upgrade that USB 3.1 can't handle - I have some Strix Arion on the way).

I can't see anyone being disappointed with it. Yeah processor, yeah RAM, but unless you can find some cheap upgrade options on Dell website (where I got mine) for BF deals, this is in my opinion an excellent buy.

    Edit: spellllllling

If only it had the R13 case

Personal review after buying 3080 R11 -> (profanity) the case is crap and so is the cooling. Also, the smaller form makes it harder to open and install stuff. GPU was stuck and it was a mission to take it out to try and install a 2nd intake fan.

    • +1

it is hard and agree re small form but it is not impossible - i now much prefer mine with the push/pull on the radiator and the 2 intake fans upfront with some cooling mods on the gpu and it was the only way to get a 3080 without paying through the nose at the time

      • Would be even worse here given the TDP is higher on the 3080 Ti

  • -2

    Can I mine with this?

    • LHR. Yes you can but will be nerfed.

    • Last I heard, people were mining 2 coins at once to make up for the limiter.
Something like 70% one coin, and 30% of the other.

      • Cooling won't be an issue?

  • Is there any detail on what type of 3080 Ti this is? Just some kind of OEM one? Easily extractable?

    • Yes, easily extractable, not that anyone would buy it though if that's what you're thinking

      • Oh no, definitely not looking to flip anything, just wanting to build my own rig :) Ended up getting the 3080 BPC Prebuilt deal :)

    • +1

      OEM 3080Ti, manufactured by MSI.

  • Checked the spec, this one not comes with a 2nd 1TB hdd, will the i5 + 3080Ti bottleneck?

  • +1

Dell delayed the pc i ordered in march until November. Avoid dell prebuilt systems unless you dont mind waiting 6 months. Bpc have a great 3080 deal for black Friday

  • See Gamers Nexus reviews. Assuming nothing has changed (a good assumption) you likely have the worst 3080 possible in a small case shaped like a female body part that has the ventilation of an oven with a custom motherboard that won't fit in any other case and dubious other parts, combined with an inconsistent (therefore possibly the the worst) support experience. Shut up and take my money!

    • If they fixed just one of those issues then it might be worth it

    • -1

That was the old R10 model, this is R12.

      • +2

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9Am2KRbYCs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNqElbt-Ga0 - A bunch of things you should probably do to fix it.

        So…
The shape of the case isn't any better.
Still a tiny box with everything jammed in and NEEDS that cooler. Loud when it spins up. Still crashes if you overclock.
It is a custom 3080 card that's a little smaller than standard. Have fun replacing it out of warranty if you ever need to, or you could downgrade instead.
Tau not set properly. 10% loss benchmarking.
I honestly can't see if the front panel is still baked right into the mainboard but I would be surprised if it wasn't.

Dell hasn't suddenly become much better. Having suffered through a PC with loud fans in my room a couple of decades ago I would NEVER make the compromise under any circumstances again.

As for the downvotes, brand loyalty is for suckers.

    • +1

why are you getting negged? some people are very strange…

      • That's nothing. On Youtube I've been comment shadow banned and I suspect it's because people didn't like me saying that I was disappointed with the power usage of the new Intel I9 processor and reported me. Of course, being a shadow ban I can't be sure that's what it was. But my comments started being deleted right after.

        Fanboys. shrug

  • Waiting for dell's sale on their main website.

  • good deal.

  • Waiting for the "Item never arrived in x months" comments

  • Out of stock, any idea if there will be more?

    • The white one is available for the same price here

      • It's gone up to the pre-sale price it seems

        • You needed to put in the coupon code PLSDELL to reach the price of $2899. My point is moot now because there are 0 units left.

          • +1

@ef7411: Cheers mate. I suppose good deals won't last.
