Muse S (Gen 2) Real-Time Brainwave Tracking Headband $373.99 + Free Delivery @ Choosemuse.com

Black Friday discount from choosemuse.com, paired with a code I found on google (being a good little OZB'er). Decided to go with this since the Dreem 2 no longer does consumer sale.

Seems to work for all items on the store.

I purchased yesterday and paid a lot more (I thought it was an early access black friday sale), but then I saw today that they upped the discount amount. I'm currently emailing them asking for them to refund the difference, or cancel and refund my order.

NOTE: Annual premium subscription is not required, but if you want to trial it out, it works out cheaper just adding it to the cart, rather than selecting the bundle. I added it since it was so cheap. My screenshot from the store here shows that the current total cost is $404.81 for both if added separately.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

I saw a mod for Skyrim VR that lets you control your magic casting ability through your mental state using Muse 2 (unsure if it's the same model).

You can also do this with these: https://mind-monitor.com/

    • Yeah I can't wait for mine to arrive so that I can hook it up to mind-monitor.. apparently mind-monitor is the biggest 3rd party app currently used on EEG tracker hardware including on Muse

  • Seems like same price at amazon, but they don’t sell the Muse 2 S?

    • I almost bought the one on Amazon but there doesn't seem to be any clarity as to whether it's gen 1 or gen 2.. I submitted a question to them but no answer so far

According to my confirmation email the S gen 2 is a pre-order and may have a 2-3 week lead time.
So I wouldn’t be hopeful for amazon being the 2nd gen… but I could be wrong

        • Did they get back to you? I got a shipping confirmation w/tracking code yesterday so that's a pleasant surprise!

Also, their customer support got back to me and have organised a refund of the difference - I'm quite impressed!

@CityHunter: Why did you get a refund?
            I got a confirmation today.

I bought the 2nd gen S, spent $404 as per your original post, with the subscription added individually but in the same purchase

            • @[Deactivated]: Oh sorry @mitchins, that's unrelated - I just misinterpreted your previous comment (basically I purchased during the early access black Friday sale but then the following day the discount increased so I asked for a refund of the difference).

              • @CityHunter: Thanks.
Can’t wait for it to arrive… maybe I’ll download the brain control SDK, and have some fun

                • @[Deactivated]: Same, I'm so keen! Sounds like you know what you're doing.. do you have any suggestions on third party apps or other things to enrich the experience? I'll be using mind-monitor, but it's my first time with EEG so I'm not fully aware of the potential

                  • +1

@CityHunter: I’m not sure yet either, however I’m hoping it ties in to apple health nicely.. I’m currently using auto sleep with my watch, but I’ll be able to let the watch charge overnight if needs be now.

If I get really bored, I might experiment with using the CCT of my hue with the measured signal… you know make it go reddish if I get angry

                    • @[Deactivated]: That sounds mad! What's a CCT? Lol

I really want to use it in real time during a workday to see how stress, nootropics, meditation, and sleep, impact the waves my brain emits..

                    • @[Deactivated]: Mine just arrived, let me know how you go!

@CityHunter: Awesome, mine is due soon.
BTW CCT (adjustable lights like hue)
Color temperature (Correlated Color Temperature, or CCT, in lighting tech jargon) is essentially a gauge of how yellow or blue the color of light emitted from a light bulb appears. It's measured in the Kelvin unit and is most commonly found between 2200 Kelvin degrees and 6500 Kelvin degrees.
