  • Does anyone know if splitting a purchase into multiple transactions works?

    • Seems like you don't need to. I got $40 credit from a single $389 transaction.

  • Purchased 2 $100 gift cards over consecutive days. Day 1 credit arrived almost instantly, still waiting for the second.

  • Bought both GC's on 24th a few hours apart.
Only got confirmation email on the first.

Only just got both credits today

    • The online giftcard from Amazon?

      • Yes correct. 2x 100 e-gift card

  • I made a single transaction of $389 at JB Hifi on Thurs night. Just logged into my Amex and confirmed I received $40 credit on my Amex for this one transaction.

    Good value Nintendo Switch - $399 less $40 less $10 coupon I had = $349.

Does anyone see the offer and saved it. Then logs back online into amex and the offer disappears from the saved offers?

  • Late to the discussion, are charges cumulative in this deal or need to spend $100 or more in one go? Thanks

    • +7

To get the $40 cashback in this offer, you need to spend at least $200 in one or more transactions at the participating retailers by 31 Dec 2021.

      Here are some examples:

      • If you spend $80 at JB Hi-Fi, $40 at Harvey Norman and $100 at Amazon by 31 Dec 2021, you'll receive $40 cashback.

      • If you spend $80 at Amazon in one transaction, and then spend another $319 at Amazon in another transaction by 31 Dec 2021, you'll receive $40 cashback.

      • If you spend $259 at JB Hi-Fi in one transaction by 31 Dec 2021, you'll receive $40 cashback.

If you spend between $100 and $199.99 in one or more transactions at the participating retailers by 31 Dec 2021, you'll only get $20 cashback.

  • That’s strange , usually the Amex confirmation email arrives pretty fast but after spending $75+25 on Amazon e gift cards two days ago, still dun have confirmation of Cashback.

    • On Friday I bought 2 $100 Amazon GC over 2 separate transactions, I only received a confirmation email for the 2nd one, but now I have received both cashbacks.

      • Finally cash back showed up today in my account. No email though. Weird I always get the cash back email confirmation in all previous promos.

  • I'm getting a message saying the offer has reached the max. number of claims. Can anyone else confirm?

    • Usually do max out. Too slow! Next time

    • I claimed this morning on a $100 GC. Is it the first time you used it? I’m pretty sure it’s one per amazon account

  • +1

I spent $199 at Amazon, got the $20 credit.
I then spent $5 at Amazon two days later, got another $20 credit.
    It definitely stacks.

  • Does anyone know if JB Solutions excluded from offer?

  • Does this work if you make a purchase on Amazon via PayPal?

    • +3

      No, because:

      • If you use PayPal, you’re no longer directly spending using your AMEX. You’re instead spending via PayPal, which in turn charges your AMEX, so AMEX will only see a PayPal charge, rather than an Amazon charge. Also, the offer terms makes it clear that it … excludes transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved.

      • You cannot use PayPal as a payment method on Amazon AU. The only payment methods I can see are Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, UnionPay, Zip and Amazon Gift Cards.

  • Can anyone suggest a way to utilize this with The Good Guys Commercial?
    TGGC accepts prepaid visa/master cards.
I couldn't find a way to buy or load up prepaid cards form Amazon, Kogan, JBHF, HN etc..

    • You can't use this with Good Guys Commercial.

      • Thanks mate, I was pushing my luck and was hoping OzB community would come up with some ingenious "hacks"!

  • bought 2 x $100 digital Amazon GC direct payment but never received email or credit. anyone else? am I missing something here

    • How many days already? It usually take couple of days, maybe 3 days before credits shown on transaction list.

BTW, from past experiences I found email notifications are not reliable.

      • Erm since late noV.

        • Oh, something is wrong. You need to ask them. For me it has never taken this long. You have definitely saved the offer to your card, right? You can log in to check it under the saved offer.

          • @bbking18: Offer is there doesn’t show as redeemed. Was wondering if anyone redeemed offer buying e gift cards?

            • @garbagetnt: Well, either buying gift cards are not qualified or something else went wrong. Again, from my past experiences they can't tell what we have purchased. With Amazon egift card, I am not sure if they can tell. Hopefully someone here can tell you. I haven't used my offer yet, so also like to know.

              • @bbking18: I purchased 2 Amazon GC's on 23 November. The listing states AMAZON AU SYDNEY SOUTH.
The 2 received credits are dated the same day.

                • @Yola: I haven't used my offer yet. Instead of buying Amazon gift cards I am thinking of buying Harvey Norman gift cards this time. So I am hoping if someone here can confirm that he/she has bought HN's egiftcards and received credits.

Otherwise I might just buy Amazon ones. So thanks, Yolanda, for confirming it.

I bought A $100 digital Amazon gift card in November and another just yesterday. Within 20 minutes both times, I'd received the confirmation email from Amex that I'd used the offer, and the $20 credit for the first one appeared on my Amex account a few days later, so I assume the other credit will appear soon too.

Having said that, I agree with @bbking18 - when using Amex offers, sometimes I get the email confirmation that I've used the offer, and sometimes I don't. However if you bought yours in November and haven't received the credits yet, you definitely need to follow up with Amex.

  • Has anyone bought Harvey Norman gift cards online and received statement credits? Thanks.

  • Thinking to spend $250 at Harvey Norman online store. Will this qualify for $40 rebate?

    • Look above on this page for the answer.
