  • It's a struggle to find eligible restaurants which don't have a min order over $20.

It's a decent deal if buying for two and picking up - but hard to find a bargain for a single cheap meal.

    • Most places that are delivered by restaurant do free delivery, which means this is incorporated in the minimum delivery price point.

Any restaurant that has a minimum order of $20 or less is probably operating at a loss with free delivery on that order. So i doubt you will find any place trying to operate at a loss.

      • The only "delivered by restaurant" in my list of 20+ that has free delivery is Domino's. #justtasmanianthings

I'm more than happy to pickup, but the min order of $20 isn't worth it.

        • If you are willing to pickup and drive a little bit further, you can try putting in random addresses in surrounding suburbs to see if there are any restaurants nearby that don't deliver to your suburb.

You may feel that it is not worth the effort for just one meal. In that case you could preorder one meal for tomorrow and then use tomorrows code for another meal.

I believe most minimum orders only apply for delivery.

If you pick up you just need to order the minimum $15 for the $6 discount to apply.

  • Kind of curious from the perspective of the shop owners if they get reimbursed the voucher price by Menulog ? Curious as to how this ecosystem functions and survives

From previous comments, Menulog covers the cost of the voucher but charges 13-14% commission on the order value.

Remember this voucher only works for restaurants that deliver themselves. So you could order directly from the restaurant and get it delivered by the restaurant in which case Menulog gets 0. I guess the way they see it is 13-14% is better than 0, and the voucher might incentivise people to order more than they normally would 🤷‍♂️
