[VIC] Euromaid EUFR183W Upright Freezer $374.99 @ Costco Moorabbin (Membership Required)

220

Bought Aldi freezer $299 then went to Costco and found that Euromaid upright freezer which I think better than Aldi one, so I bought it. It’s at the lowest price compared to online stores

Good Price. Just be aware that this model is not frost free, and will require occasional manual defrosting. If you want a frost free vertical freezer with similar capacity have a look at Hisense or Chiq brands.
Going a bit off topic, Australian law has recently changed, and since August all fridge and freezers imported into Australia must clearly quote their Net capacity and not their Gross capacity. This freezer for example if imported into the country today would have to be advertised and sold as 167L Freezer (Net capacity). So if you see a mismatch between the model number and the advertised capacity this is the reason why.
For example look at the LG GB455UPLE on the LG website. Before August this fridge was advertised as having 455L capacity, now it is rated at 420L: https://www.lg.com/au/fridges/lg-GB-455UPLE
You can find a nice explainer on the link below:

      Before buying Chiq, maybe consider

"Questions are being asked of Australian retailers who sell Chiq or Changhong branded appliances after the U.S., U.K., and Canada overnight joined the European Union to impose sanctions against China over alleged human rights abuses on the Uyghurs in Xinjiang"

      • I personally think the ‘micro-chip in the vaccine’, and the '5G Antenna hidden in the mask for tracking' sounds more realistic, can't believe there are still people who believe this well-written 'movie' script by the so-called "News" propaganda company.

        • Mate you have been a member for about a year, not posted a single deal and this is the first comment you make?

Despite this I'm happy to read any links you feel provide the 'truth'

  • Remember when you couldn't buy a freezer for love or money earlier this year

Lol, wondering if many tried to return freezers like they did toilet paper.

    • At the beginning of the Pandemic all freezers went mental demand wise, smaller capacity chest freezers especially.

  • RRP for this at Costco was $550, it's a 2.5 star rated unit. Other 3 stars units are also being sold by other sellers (Hisense and Kogan branded). Costco also had Akai 173L 2.5 star unit for same price earlier this year.

  • is it frost free?

    • No. See my post above.

  • frost free runs mild heating cycles so isn’t this not really ideal for frozen foods?

    • You are correct frost free isn't really a feature you would always want in a freezer but people think it sounds like something you should have. And if you are planning on storing something long term in a freezer you would actively want to avoid having that feature.

But if I was storing something long term I would prefer using a chest freezer because it is more energy efficient so it depends what your use case is. If frequently freezing and using items after a short period you might want frost free.

  • Confirming it's frost free?
