            @carlJack: Yep 100%. But yes, alot find that if a bellow is needed then it's not really a low retention without the need for forcing air, and if the unit is not air tight then the grinds and particles can go elsewhere in the machine. I know caedo does a really good bellow system, but it's also like 2k. I'll be happy with the niche

    Preorder the Eureka mignon single dose last week. Consider getting a niche too. Ha, that's pricey!

    probably Eureka single dose or Eureka Mignon xl will be a better value. They sell for 500-550ish euro on espresso coffee shop. Also ask them 10% off coupon.

      The single dose and xl are so very very different. Yes they are the same burrs, but I believe the housing where the burrs sit are so different. The XL retains so much coffee and also has problems with coffee going into the housing if you try to single dose mod it. I wouldnt put them in the same category as they serve a different purpose to each other. You have to factor in the euro to aud, + shipping + Customs and GST. The Mignon Oro is close to 1k aud once you convert

        I don't think that is true, I have read at various places that Eureka basically haphazardly came out with single dose with small modifications to XL after looking at success of NZ. All you need is a 3D printed base and bellows to get single dose. There are no customs when total including shipping is below 1k AUD.

        Right now on that website XL is 563 - 10% code 3337 + 50 shipping is 556 eur = 873 AUD. Also they list floor /refurb model of XL time to time for 90 EUR less.

          They gotta compete with the market I guess, and if they can alter a product slightly rather than redesign a new grinder I'm sure they'll take that opportunity, which seems to be what they did with the Oro. I'm hoping it lives up to what it's meant to be, otherwise it's just a faster specialita but incorporating tilt and bellows like you could do with any of them

            @Discoaus: XL definitely better than specialita with bigger 'diamond inside' burrs. Not sure how much Better tho. Their Oro line is supped to be higher tier.

              @truebunny: It seems the Oro will share the same 65mm burrs, a shame as you can't buy other branded burrs as these are a eureka patented size. whether it's worth the extra money we will find out when it's released and reviewed in real world

      I want to ask the same thing, I heard some rumors say the cost of shipping is not included in the GST, which end up with a total cost of 910 AUD less than 1000. Therefore no import GST?

        I'll have to ask around as I haven't bought from them before. But it cost me £499 + £50 shipping, so total cost of £549

            @carlJack: It seems concensus is most don't cop any extra fees once it goes through customs, but around 10% of people could. So I think it's just luck by the sounds of things. But it won't add much to the total cost, it would be less than $100 more if anything

        Oh, I love coffee! I think I drink too much on daily basis hahaha the reason why I said that is because every time a coffee grinder is posted here, at least with a price above $300, ppl would say "WHY?" why buy an expensive grinder and doesn't do coffee…. LOL

        Grinder is one of the most important piece of equipment you should invest in if you brew your own coffee at home.

    if you want good espresso with half the price look for Mazzer Super jolly used on ebay / gumtree. can be had for ~400 AUD. Those are built like tanks and are commercial grinders. I single dose with them and find them to be pretty low retention 18g in, 17.5-18g out.

      I believe that is not retention, it is coffee exchange. You need to clean the grinder completely to test the retention part.

        hmm even if we do it that way, how can we be sure that coffee is getting swapped and not just flowing over the old deposited coffee. In the end what matters is if I get a good shot. And I can tell you one thing, my SJ shots are better and more consistent than my settle 270

    Just got mine delivered from the previous deal, no taxes and duties payable as the value declared was GBP 0.0. Amazing piece of kit, huge step up from my Macap m2m as far as grind size consistency and retention are concerned. Comes with an AU plug (no adapters).
