        • Yes it will be more power efficient. If it performs better or worse then a 5800h will depend on the workload.

          Note that the "Creator Edition" bit is important, it's not just a marketing label and is actually a separate product. The regular H version runs at higher clock speeds but with more power consumption than the HS. However the HS Creator Edition gives that clock speed back, while maintaining the lower power consumption. It's confusing as hell but:

          5800HS = 35W / 2.8GHz base / 4.4GHz boost
          5800H = 45W / 3.2GHz base / 4.4GHz boost
          5800HS Creator Edition = 35W / 3.2GHz base / 4.4GHz boost

          5900HS = 35W / 3.0GHz base / 4.6GHz boost
          5900HS Creator Edition = 35W / 3.3GHz base / 4.6GHz boost

          (Note: there is no such thing as a 5900H, there is a 5900HX but it's designed for chunky gaming laptops instead of this type of all-rounder machine)

          • @mystarey: I noticed 5900HS Creator Edition according to some online test performs slightly better than 5800H, probably by 2-5%. The 5800HS Creator Edition though is 3-10% slower. Not sure if $300 can justify that extra performance. Not considering 5800H to avoid overheating issues in the future.

  • Hi @doweyy, could you pm me the edu access, please? Thank you.

  • How is lenovo edu with shipping estimates? "ships in 4 weeks, 8 weeks" etc. Are these estimates accurate or a under promise, over deliver sort of thing?

  • mine says early dec for carbon 7 - purchased today

    • thanks, guess that would make the 4 week estimate pretty accurate
