This previously popular tablet is back on sale and while a bit higher due to the worse exchange rate it's still excellent value. Especially when you consider the non-Matte version sells for $499 at JB Hi-Fi and the much lower end Lenovo Tab M11 sells for $284.99 at Amazon.

While this is the smaller brother of the high-end Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025 it's still an excellent choice for gaming thanks to the Dimensity 7050, as well as general usage and of course media playback with Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix. The Matte display helps to reduce glare from light.

Features include Android 13 with Google Play (Android 14 & 15 coming), 12.7" 60Hz 2944x1840 IPS Matte display, MediaTek Dimensity 7050 CPU with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, Widevine L1 DRM, 128GB Storage (microSD support), 8GB RAM. 10200mAh battery with 30W fast charging, 4 JBL Speakers w/ Dolby Atmos, 2 inbuilt mics, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C connectivity, magnetic attaching place for Lenovo Tab Pen Plus and pogo pins for a keyboard.

This one has been flashed with the Lenovo P12 Global ROM (though some reviews show CN ROM with ZUI) and given that the P12 is identical except for the non-Matte display this should be no issue. Bootloader is reported to be locked with Netflix HD, OTA updates and Google Play.

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD

  • The description on Aliexpress seem to suggest that it comes with a case.

    • +1

Refer to "Color" when selecting the bundle. The one with the case costs extra.

    Thanks @Clear

Does anyone know if the GPS on this is any good? I'm looking for a tablet to use in the car for mapping. As far as I can tell it comes with a GPS.

  • Does it come with the pen?

    • Only if you select a bundle with it.

      • Whoops - looked at everything except the item picker lol

  • What kind of games would take advantage of this spec?

    • +3

pretty much just non-3D titles, or some emulators… but emulators also runs better on snapdragon chips, mediocre on dimensity chips (GPU optimization differences)

on top of that, this would work more like a browser machine than a gaming machine due to its size and heaviness.

the performance of this chip is somewhere in-between Snapdragon 845 and Snapdragon 855, which is the flagship mobile chip around 2017~2018.. maybe 2019

we are at 2025 already.. that's like the flagship from like 8 generations ago: 845>855>865>888>8gen1>8gen1+>8gen2>8gen3>8elite (yeh I hate their naming convention)

also, FYI, the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025 (China ROM) @ AU$348 (deal expired) performance is somewhere between 8gen1+ and 8gen2.

  • Is this good for emulation, android games and streaming games?

  • If only it had LTE

    • +2

Fortunately we all have phones with such thing :) I personally don't see the point in buying an extra SIM when I can hotspot.

Note that the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 flashed to the global ROM can't install the latest OTA update because it says the hardware is incompatible. It seems Lenovo might be trying to stop people loading global ROM onto Chinese hardware. Keep that risk in mind.

    • Seems the firmware from Lenovo RSA for the 2022 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon version. They either have to downgrade or load ZUI (which enables more features like turbo charge). Hopefully it's just a case of wrong firmware and not blocking.

      • +1

I hope so too. I bricked mine, but thankfully managed to salvage it with SP Flash tool.
I tried ZUI briefly, but Google Services wouldn't work properly and I didn't get OTA to ZUI 16. Apparently that's not straightforward, and ZUI can give wifi issues. I'll stay on the global one for now.

        • As long as Google Services is enabled in settings and Google Play sideloaded it should work fine.

          • @Clear: Long shot - do you know whether I can do anything with my global rom flashed Lenovo Yoga Pad Pro (Yoga Tab 13)? it's stuck on Android 11 and can't find much info on how to get it updated (also Widevine L1 disappeared).

        • Sounds like a lot of work to get this thing going

  • How do you get it for $267? Cheapest i can get it is $280.19

I checked out and used code AFAU20

    • Refer to the bottom of the post re USD.

  • Hey Clear, love your work. I'm after a high performing smaller form factor tablet and I see most signs pointing towards the Y700 (2023) to be the top option. Do you reckon around the $285 USD after the discounts/taxes to be is a decent price?

    • +2

They've just released it internationally as the Lenovo Legion Tab for US$499 so US$285 seems reasonable. Just make sure you get the CN version as attempts to reflash it with the Japanese version (rebadged) has been blocked.

Alldocube are releasing the iPlay 70 Mini Ultra next month with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. No word on pricing yet.

      • Cheers for the info, might keep an eye on Alldocube

  • Thanks @Clear, any chance for a deal on the xiaoxin pad pro 2025?

    • +2

With the upcoming CNY holiday I can't get any lower prices currently. Especially with this bad exchange rate.

      • i see….thanks anyway. Guess I will wait out for that then :)

  • Would local P12 cases and screen protectors fit this?

  • Can anyone confirm if the matte finish is a simple screen protector or is the glass etched? Thanks

  • Sorry, just as an aside. I got the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025, as per this deal, but I choose the 128GB and am running out of space after installing some games which are relatively big. Should have chosen the 256GB, doh!

Does anyone know, and/or if it is even possible, to make the microSD card as internal memory or to transfer apps to the microSD card?

I've looked thru the developer options, and tried this to no avail.
I've google and some said that Lenovo, after updating past a certain version of ZUI, has disable the ability to use microSD card as internal memory and also disable the ability to move apps to the microSD card. This is true for me so far with my Xiaoxin Pad Pro. Not sure if it will be the same with this Pad Plus.

Has anyone had this issue with the Lenovo tablets and was able to overcome it?

  • I've been messing around with remote desktop and Android and something like this, with a portable external monitor probably fits 90% of my travelling requirements for a laptop. Email, general stuff on device and remote desktop when I need more of something. Still need to find a better RD client.
Does anyone know if this can connect to a USBC monitor?
