    • I use it because it collects lint better than natural drying. Which means a less dusty house.

Also because birds like to stick around the clothes line and poop on my clothes. But that's another story altogether

    • Agreed. I have this dryer and it's great when you get two weeks worth of rain and indoors is too humid for anything to dry on a rack. But I don't use it often, outside of that.

  • Can you walk mount this dryer or has to be in the floor?

    • Can’t be wall mounted. Only on the floor or ontop of washer (or something else solid enough to take the weight I guess)

Unit is almost 60kg so wall mounting is not recommended. You would need to build something custom to handle weight like this together with vibrations. What I like about the weight is its unlikely to be stolen from my outdoor laundry 😄 If someone can jump a 1.8m fence, take 60kg item and jump back I reckon they deserve a reward 😂

    • No wall mount but can be stacked on top of washer.

      • ok shucks, i got a top loader so can't buy this dryer then :(
my laundry is very small and literally no space for another dryer lol unless i put it in the garage haha

guess it'll be just on the portable clothes line for drying clothes for me now then

Yeah similar situation with me lol. Tiny laundry so had no space to put it on the floor. I had to ask an owner of the machine regarding the exact dimensions if it will stack on top of my washer. On books dryer was bigger than my washer but in reality it’s the same. Phew. Maybe you can buy this after your current top loader runs out, buy a front loader then.

          • @ashftc: nah i think we won't get a front loader if the top loader still works a ok.
guess gonna rely on the power of the sun for now lol

@prankster: No they mean when you top loader breaks, replace with a front loader. They are far superior in any case.

  • Good model, been using this for over a year, still going strong.

Think i found out about this model here.

Oh did i mention my electricity bill was slashed massively because of this dryer.

    • How often were you using your non-heat pump dryer to slash your electricity by that much?

      • lots

        • Well that clears it then! lol

@JimB: It even dries it up! Haha

    Highly recommend it!

My partner and I have been using it for 1.5 years and its never missed a beat.

    Pros:
-Removes lint from most of clothes.
-Most of our clothes are dry after a single run.
-Easy to clean the filters and to empty the water tank. You only need to do this every 2-3 runs, depending on how much clothes you put in.
-We don't empty our water tank, we connect ours straight to the drain.
-Simple and easy to use. We leave ours on 'auto' function .
    -Not very noisy.
-Doesn't use much power compared to vented dryers.
-Doesn't leave the room humid like vented dryer. However, if its a small room, you may notice the room warms up slightly.

    Cons:
-Poor instructions on how to connect water drain hose from the machine to the drain. Luckily, Youtube has clear instructions.
-The case/frame surrounding the unit can slowly discolour and turn yellow, if exposed to sunlight over long periods (i.e. left next to a window)
-Can take long to dry clothes. Averages approx 2hours.
-Cannot wall mount. Esatto doesn't seem to have any mounts. We stack our dryer on top of our front loader. We bought an anti-vibration matt from Harvey Norman for $30, and it did the job. Many options also available at GoodGuys/Bunnings.

    Hope this helps!

From what I've seen, heat pump dryers in general can't be wall mounted as they are heavy (50-60kg unloaded) and they would not work upside down with the water tank design.

Would love to be proven wrong though as my laundry setup could use a wall mounted dryer…

Also have this dryer (doesn't every OzBargainer?!). Works well.

Sits on top of a Bosch 7.5kg front loader washer with no issues using this stacking mat: https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/appliance-washer…

I own this. Great warranty support. Worked well for a year or 2, then it made a horrible noise and died. It was out of warranty so I tried calling a local repair guy. He had never heard of esatto and said couldn't help. Suggested I contact the manufacturer. I did, and they asked for a video of what it's doing and the next day they said they would send me a new dryer. Initially they sent a vented drier but when I contacted them again they accepted it was their error and sent out another heat pump one ( and took back the vented).

    • Thats very kind of them to provide you with a new one even though the faulty one was outside of warranty period

  • Blah, they won't send to me. Must be too rural.

  • Ordered Wednesday 20th.. had delivery available for Friday. Got a call from them saying out of stock won’t be delivered till next month

    • I always prefer eBay due to this - no sneaky thing like this

  • Is the main benefit of a heat pump dryer the energy savings? I've never used one before so can someone convince me why I should buy this instead of picking up a second hand dryer for 100 bucks?:)

    • more efficent and it doesn't release all that humidity out into your laundry.

  • Amazing dryer. Had this for about 2 years and no issues at all. Haven’t actually tried the auto function yet - have only really used extra (for most things), refresh (to remove pet hair from clothes dried by air), and cold (for non dryer items). Usually feel better putting it on extra more than once, I will definitely try auto after seeing comments here.

  • Bought this back in March for $495 and it was one of the best buys ever.
Living in Brisbane, we were skeptical about needing a dryer, but now we hardly ever hang anything outside anymore. It saves us so much time and effort by not having to hang all the little things like socks, underwear etc on the airer. Everything comes out so nice and crisp.
