  • 128 or 64gb?

    • It's right there in the OP:

      64 GB storage capacity

Link says 64, title is wrong.

      • Thanks for the pickup! I could've sworn it said 128Gb on the site, but it was probably a typo from the example I was copying.

Thanks OP. A friend ordered it after his old Motorola phone went through bootloop issues last week, and wanted to stick with Motorola

your friend seems to love punishment

Battery life on this is apparently next level.

Last 2 Motorola phones G7 plus and G8 plus developed issues with the charging port after 12 months

Have had 4 Motorolas , first two were ok, last two were disappointing due to the charging port issue.

I have since changed to Realme 7 5G , would highly recommend. Bought it for $351 from Amazon , 24 month warranty, 8Gb ram, 128gb storage and came with free ear buds. JB Hi-fi had it for $351 too without the ear buds but has gone back up to $439 I believe with the ear buds now

    • Had a G6 that would switch itself off (battery was charged, it just randomly switches itself off) and replaced the phone after a few weeks. Phone was just under a year old but didnt send it off under warranty as it sounded like a pain (had to be picked up by courier, would get the phone back in a week if they werent fixing it under warranty) and I wasnt confident they would be able to find out what was wrong (as it switches itself off every few days and cant exactly get it to do that on demand?!)

      • Yeah their service and warranty process is crap

        • Haven't had a problem with warranty service. Used it this year on a nearly 2 year old G7+ with charging issue.

      • Sent in my G7+ for free warranty repair middle of this year, after almost 2 years use. Back in under a week with new battery & charging problem fixed. Working like new.

        • We've (family) had a bunch of motos- from g4 to g9. Sent 3 in for warranty, all back in week and fixed. I'm still a big moto fan and recommend and buy them… YMMV

    • Realme 7 5g here too since it was launched. Never had any issue with it

  • Whats the expected OS updates support from Motorola like?

    • +1

Have owned the 6, 7 and 8 but not the 9.

If they're anything to go by, extremely good.
      Hopefully history suggests the future.

Yes, typically they receive the next major OS version (but usually not the one after that), and also regular security updates. E.g. If starting with 11, will very likely get Android 12, but probably not 13.

      • High end ( plus, x or z) tend to get updates. Bottom dwellers - "e" series or low end "g" not so much… imo… YMMV

        • I've had a couple of G line, and my wife had an E line, and pretty sure they both got the next major version. As you say YMMV but it's been positive for me in the past.

I went from G5S plus to the g9 plus. I love it. Just I don't take photos with it. The quality is bad compared to my old iPhone 5

    • Yes, the camera admittedly leaves quite a bit to be desired, but that's what you get for a $180 phone compared to at least $600 for a new iPhone.

  • would this be ok for a child going in to year 7?

    • If you're looking for a cheap, reliable phone for a child/teen, this would be a very good option.

  • None now in Hobart……………I got the last one hohum…………
