  • Got a price drop alert for this so thought id post. I did want one… but now I wanna hang out for the Segway Navimow.

  • +3

I'd deffo need a trial before I commit to one of these.

    • Good thing you can do that with Amazon

  • +2

All fun and games till the local kids take off with it.

All fun and games till it runs over dog poop

      • +2

All fun and games till it runs over your toes

      • +1

Hmmm, not the lawn mowers you are looking for.

      • and you miss out because you're not there?

      • +8

I've got the bigger version of this, and it runs over dog poop without any issue. It's not like a robot vacuum that spreads it all over your house. Most of the time the dog poop is too low in the grass to hit anything anyway so it just skims over the top. At worst it gets a bit poopy on the wheels but they pretty much self clean by driving around on grass for hours on end anyway.

    • +2

      Stick an airtag in it?+

  • Runs over dog shit…..

  • +2

Like the idea, but unlikely be practical at my place, as I have too many changes in level (with steps) and other inclines. Interested to hear from anyone who has one though.

  • Better still the neighbours cat

  • +3

We need the Einhell robot mowers here so they can be sold in Bunnings as Ozito.

    • +4

And then Aldi to have theirs so Bunnings pricebeat.

    • Wonder what it would cost to import one, so many ozito batteries from all teh ozbargain deals :)

      • +1

Forwarding service from Amazon Germany would do it. They also come with the fancy 5.2Ah batteries.

    • looks similar to the MoeBot mower that I have =) pretty sure most of these things use the same basic hardware in different outer shells/skins. The only difference would be the batteries, but moebot batteries are cheap anyway.

  • +9

Not interested. Already own a kid.

    • +1

      This one's cheaper…

  • Disappears the next day stolen by your neighbours.

  • +1

For the people mentioning it running over dog poop…

I don't own a dog but… who mows their lawn when their lawn is covered in dog shit?

    • Difference is, you want to set this machine to do frequent mowing without physical intervention.
VS yourself going out, cleaning up the poop and then start mowing.

      • surely you'd have to bring the dog in before letting the robomower loose? just pick up the shit then.

  • I so want one of these.
They seem surprisingly good when you look at them on YouTube etc
I'm guessing you would need to mow your lawn daily in spring if you have Kikuyu which would be the downside for me

    • +2

But is daily mowing a problem if a robot is doing if for you?

      • Right you are.

  • wonder if this will work well with different levels? got a garden with some bald patches, anyone has experience if it will climb out and in of patches with ease?

  • It will just cut trim the grass and leave it there. It will not collect like lawn mower.

    Is it still worth?

    • +1
      • Looks good. So, you leave the trimmed grass there itself?

        • +1

It acts more like a reel mower than a spinny-blade mower. The blades are sharp - almost like a more robust razor blade - and are designed to just trim a little off the top. As a result you just get tiny little pieces sprinkled through your lawn that basically disappear instead of the big cuts of torn grass you get mowing once a week / fortnight with a standard mower that are really obvious.

Mine does a whisker under half the yard in that photo which comes out to about 1300m2. When the Segway mower is released I'm going to get one of them to do the whole yard. The Worx mower was more a proof of concept to the wife… and it works really well. The only downside is it getting stuck on toys left in the yard by the dogs, or falling in to holes dug in the yard by the dogs. Taking away errors caused by the dogs it's very reliable.

          • @theredkrawler: That's cool. Thanks for explaining.

I can definitely buy then for my backyard. It's small and I don't have to worry about storing a mower as well then.

  • +2

    This or goat 🐐?

    • goat will mow all your trees and clothes

  • -1

I could get my lawn mowed and cleaned up 32 times for this much

    • +2

is your point that it pays for itself pretty quick?

  • Price has gone up again.
    Anyone tried Moebot?
    https://moebot.com.au/?gclid=CjwKCAjwhuCKBhADEiwA1HegOckGJbx…

    • I got the Moebot S5 about a month ago. Does the job and is half the price :)
