LG Optimus One P500 FREE Delivery $89.00 Crazy John's Online

100

This is a nice solid phone at the lower end of the smartphone market.

The phone is most likely locked to the Vodafone network. Unlock codes can be bought off eBay for around $5.00.

you wouldnt know if this takes ice creampie sandwich?

  • Deal has been around for ages.

    • Damn I wish i'd known about that. Would've been a good upgrade for my bro's U8150.

Why didn't you post it then.

The top of the smartphone market is really pushing down the price of these cheaper smartphones…soon these will be $29 specials in the Coles or Woolies catalogue - amazing!

does anyone know how long can this phone's battery last for using as a wifi hotspot (turned on continuously)?

    • around 5 hours

      • thanks

        • Long term view, the battery on mine is pretty much cactus now after 18mths.

    • Yeah, i like most everything about this phone, apart from the battery life and charging time. I got a cheapo china batt from ebay for a couple bucks, as a backup, and it seems to be pretty similar to the original. Charging is super slow, maybe 5-6 hours from near flat, i haven't timed it…but seems to take forever! This is the only "smart" phone i've owned, so maybe it's the norm, and the result of packing so much tech into a tiny device.

    • There are battery packs containers (2 or 4 aaa batteries) with usb/micro usb connectors which will lengthen the life.

The phone should be $40 with those specs but i did like the way this bargain was posted with a link to specs and relevant information.

  • Pretty sure any vodafone prepaid can be unlocked for free - look in previous posts on OzBargain and/or whirlpool

  • My deal, but which includes this phone for cheaper and much more has the same votes as this "deal". God dammit, Ozbargain community.

    • I don't see such a post in your posting history.

I was going to get this but the COTD deal for the LG Optimus Win7 phone for $157 delivered was too good to refuse.

    • You mean $159 + $5.95 delivery?

      • +1

Using COTD iOS app you get 5% discount

  • Damn, now that I look at it this phone has some really nice Custom Rom's. Half the price of what I paid for my phone 6 months ago and just as good.

    For example, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538633

  • apple users sucked in again i see

  • I'd prefer Ideos X3 $79 at auspost

How do you complete\start the HOW TO. bit ie. wipe this and that?

    • +1

Hey, before you do that you need to root your device and install a recovery. See this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007244

ONCE you've done all this, you can follow the instructions shown in the thread. But basically booting into recovery is usually done by turning off your phone and pushing a combination of buttons, ie power button + vol down. Once you've done that you will be able to see all the options i.e factory reset/ wipe cache and so on, and you can install a rom through the recovery.

It might take a bit but read over that thread, and you should be fine.

  • I bought one of these for my wife from a deal Unique Mobiles had last year and the phone is fantastic and her mother just got me to buy one for her, its a good cheap "Android" phone and I cant find anything close for the price, the camera takes good photos too lol my wife is always using it for facebook pictures.

I will have to try that OptimusWiz Rom, look good :)
