Does this phone have free lifetime Google Photos?

    • It’s the only reason why I got this. Despite having a iPhone 12 Pro.

      • how can you transfer iphone photos to pixel than upload?
how ofen you do it? once a week?

        • I guess my main objective is to backup all my photos and videos in my 2TB hard drive. Which may take a few months. This will hopefully pay for it self overtime.

          • @TomGum: If that's the case, you can pick up a used Pixel 1 for that (original quality for life!)

            • @bobokingdom: Tried to find a pixel 1, not much out there. And pixel one will probably be no use for life because it’s life will most likely be short lived.

Wonder how long this phone can last for if I turn it on once a month 😂

        • Depends how often you charge it.

        • Until you Mr gets Eff'n suspicious of you stashing a second phone away.

It has free original quality uploads till february 2022, then free high quality storage after that

      • +1

Hopefully within 5 months I can get 2TB-3TB worth uploaded.

    • There is nothing lifetime, Google can remove that feature anytime if they want, YOU DONT OWN GOOGLE, sure it is in Google's own best interest to keep their promises, But my thinking says Google wont be offering unlimited Cloud storage after another 5 years or so.

      • theyve already stopped. if you dont have a pixel between 3 and 5 you have to pay for google photos storage

        • +1

yeah i was talking about Pixel 3- Pixel 5 phones that they will stop with these phones too soon.

      • it's risky but the dollar exposure may well be give or take up to $5 a month storage fee?

Is this an AU model, or from USA like the Mobileciti deals and confusion?

    • +1

Thats what I was trying to work out, also who is "Mobile World" no history of that name at all on OzBargain

    • +14

It is Mobileciti operating under a different name.

      See product page

      Sold by Mobile World
Sold and delivered by Mobileciti Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 43117746424)

The problem with their stock is that it is being sold under the guise of:

      • Brand New Condition - A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original sealed packaging.
      • Australian Stock.

BUT they are repackaged US model phones with the Official Google accessories replaced with third party ones. I would encourage you to research further before buying because there may be limitations with these US variants.

Do not buy from Mobileciti, those guys are scammers, the phones aren’t brand new sealed in the box as they state and it’s not Australian stock but American, beware.
They should be sued for false advertisement.

  • Might as well get the xl model for the same price https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/eclipsetechnology-google-pixel-…

      That’s second hand.

      • +1

comments indicate this one isn't either

        • I guess there’s always the option for refund if it turns out to be a second hand. But yours is 100% second hand.
