      Learn to fly.

  • +2

    Where can we even go?

Booking flights is just giving free money to airlines right now.

    • +1

Yep my mother in law keeps booking flights to Qld, then they get cancelled. She has heaps of credit with them now.

I do see planes in the sky a lot though and wonder who is flying and where.

      • They're flying here to refuel and then head to Simpsons Desert.

      • +1

Probably just cargo no passenger flights I'm guessing unless there are compassionate flights still going on or an international summit or Olympians and staff maybe hehe I don't know I'm just guessing.

        • +1

Yeah true, and don’t forget all the millionaire business people and sports people who can come and go internationally when they want.

          • @GeneralSkunk: Exactly money can't buy happiness but it can buy the things that might give us happiness but I digress now

  • +3

    Too many risks flying now.

    • +3

The actual flying is probably the lowest risk of the whole process.

      • +1

Yeah I would imagine the skies are more free of traffic now and airports look like empty parking supermarket parking lots late at night with just the occasional shopper haha hehe lol.

  • they need $ to pay fat cat CEO

  • How about stay home, stay safe and stay strong during this 6th lockdown in Victoria first.
Rather than potentially spreading the virus all over this lovely continent.

  • +4

While in lockdown, I utilize the perfect opportunity to watch Air Crash Investigations

    • +6

You know it's going to be boring if the episode starts and they interview the pilot.

Yeh the early seasons are the best

Air France 447 still gives me the chills

        • My fav's

The Hawaiian Airlines plane that completed several 100kms without a roof (that was blown apart by the hostie being shot through it). What a flight…for everyone but the hostie.
          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloha_Airlines_Flight_243

A domestic US flight that had a bomb go off and exploded over Louisiana. A lone survivor passed out from the pressure wave, became concious falling through the air (still in seat). Impact cushioned by trees, swamp (and seat) … Then sustained their worst injury when being attacked by a Gator.

      • Dark. I like it.

    • +1

      How about airlines crashing?

  • +8

There's a reason it's one way. You won't be allowed back!

    • +1

For some, it means just getting home (in time).

      • A lot of people forget this.

There are still some people stuck in not their home state trying to get home.

This deal is mainly for them if they can get the exemption first of course.

I suspect it's only a matter of time before Tassie closes the border to everyone, people just cant be trusted:

  • LOVE IT! ONE WAY - Like there's a choice.

    • It is a good one if you need to get home not for recreational touristy travel.

  • Stuck with $1k travel credit with Virgin atm because like any ozbargainer, I did not book the freedom fare. I'd wait for vaccination rates to hit the target, for domestic travel to go without sudden lockdowns.

    • +1

That's where booking with points come in handy. You get the full thing back.

  • Have you noticed LOCK DOWN

  • +2

$49 for flight $3000 for hotel quarantine priceless

    • Sounds like a Mastercard commercial

  • -4

Not a deal, risk additional fees due to restrictions - no bargain here.

  • Is Darwin part of Australia yet?

"Perth to Sydney, One Way" - yes, it is.

  • For $99 you can get MS Flight simulator.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/microsoft-flight-simulator…

    • Lol how does that help someone stranded in not their home city… I guess if they get homesick hmm lol.

      • It's a safer investment.

  • at this rate, I might need a ticket to Aldi 6km away from my house lol

    • Train the dog.. Can animals transmit the virus?

      • In the case of Corona, yes (not talking about a box of beer). Remembering this game of tag started with bats..

        • Haha you are right i totally forgot this came from a bat

          • @AlienC: Yeah, well sort of… SARS has been around for a long time (this is SARS..they just didn't want to call it that again in case it caused panic..lol). So the poor bat probably picked it up from some human…Who probably got it from a camel…. You get the drift. If it's got lungs, it can get it. Funny enough there is very little data on animal transmission, so the experts would say no animals are statistically not transmitters …yet claim this strain came from a bat!

Best way to keep it moving…fill these flights with anything with lungs and send em to all areas of the globe!

            • @tunzafun001: Lol that's some pandemic evolved ship right there

Spend 15 dna points on flight transmission

  • Anyone know what happens with Amex flight credit bookings? I was notified of a flight time change for my flight on Aug 29. So I think that means I can change it since they did. However, I think it's time to face up to reality that the holiday ain't going to happen. If I cancel what happens? I recon someone on here said they got it back as a cash credit on their card?
